Detailed description is Welcome to our farm - located in Greenville AL we have over 80 fruit trees, lots of blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, figs and Bees! In April 2014 we bought our farm - 39 acres in Greenville AL, no friends, no family living here, just dreams and visions of getting out of the rat race of life and finding a simplier way of living. What the heck were we thinking? We work harder now, but knowing where your food came from, what you are eating and that you did it yourself is well worth the reward! . . James likes to do things big! He wanted to get a few chickens so we could have farm fresh eggs and quit buying them from the store - who doesn't like farm fresh eggs? Ok, let's do it! In October 2015 James bought 42 day old peeps, they were absolutely adorable, but in April 2016 when they started laying eggs we realized we were getting almost 2 dozen eggs a day - that's a lot of eggs when you don't have a plan.. . We have downsized a little on the chickens and have almost found the happy balance between what we need, what we want and still have a few left to sell.. . Last year James had another vision, let's plant an orchard - little did we know that this little vision would eventually turn into the Widdoss Farm & Apiary. We thought the venture would be a small little hobby, enough fruit to feed us but after all of the research, planning, more research and more planning and in a matter of a few weeks the orchard went into motion and James planted over 80 fruit trees, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, figs, and so much more!. . Well, if you have an orchard you need bees, right? This year we started our bee keeping journey and have already grown from 2 colonies to 5 or 6 in a matter of weeks.
