“All roofs assessed have significant renewal works required,” the report said.
The town hall had the highest repair bill, followed by the council’s head office in Te Awamutu, $565,000; Te Awamutu Events Centre, $513,000; Te Awamutu Museum, $413,000 and Cambridge Service Centre, $380,000.
Cambridge ward councillor Mike Pettit said it seemed “to be a lot of money to spend on roofs” and wanted to know whether it was unexpected or general maintenance.
