$2.5m roof repair costs rain down on Waipā District Council's public buildings

“All roofs assessed have significant renewal works required,” the report said.
The town hall had the highest repair bill, followed by the council’s head office in Te Awamutu, $565,000; Te Awamutu Events Centre, $513,000; Te Awamutu Museum, $413,000 and Cambridge Service Centre, $380,000.
Cambridge ward councillor Mike Pettit said it seemed “to be a lot of money to spend on roofs” and wanted to know whether it was unexpected or general maintenance. ....
