Alexa Chung is on her hands and knees, picking up centimetres of her own hair from the floor. “This wouldn’t happen to Meghan Markle,” she jokes, referring to her hairstylist George Northwood’s other famous client. He has slashed a good amount for a photo shoot. But, alas, he’s left her to sweep up. “I’ve had a lot taken off – am I going to regret that?” she asks. “George says everyone thinks I’ve always got a bob anyway, so I might as well have one.”
It’s true. Alexa’s bob is a defining feature, a constant in her 22-year career as a fashion designer, muse, model, television presenter and journalist.
