Studiale said he lives nowhere near the airport, but that his life is constantly interrupted by the rumble of low-flying jets over his house. He added it's ruined his ability to enjoy outdoor activities at his house.
David Pendry, a resident of Lakeside Preserve, said he and his family have to pause their conversations every time one of Amazon's jets passes overhead.
Veronika Guttenberger called Amazon a "malignant cancerous growth" whose rapid growth and progress is threatening Lakeland's quality of life with its noise, air pollution and increase in local traffic.
"I don't like Amazon and I don't like this airport expansion," she said, her words nearly drowned out by spontaneous applause and cheering.
