The future that we want to build, but at the moment weve got this roadblock, this logjam, and we need to get through it. And as the early election bill receives royal assent well have the latest as the campaign gets the other main stories on bbc news at 5. The us house of representatives passes a resolution to formally proceed with the impeachment inquiry, against President Trump. The body of missing british backpacker, amelia bambridge, is found in cambodia. More than 70 passengers are killed, as their train catches fire in pakistan. Order order. Very rude for members. Order and coming up well take a look atjohn bercows most memorable moments as he stands down as house of commons speaker. Its five oclock our top story. On the day the Prime Minister promised we would leave the eu, the battle lines for the december election are being drawn. The labour Leaderjeremy Corbyn launched his pa rtys campaign in south london, condemning what he called tax dodgers, dodgy landlords, bad bosses and big polluters. Borisjohnson speaking during a visit to addenbrookes hospital in cambridge said there were too many mps opposed to the uk leaving the European Union. And promised hed focus on education, the nhs and crime. And, in the last hour, the queen has given royal assent for the election to take place on the 12th of december. Heres our Political Correspondent iain watson and a warning his report contains flash photography. Jeremy corbyn launched his Election Campaign in the london seat of battersea. Labour doggedly fought here in 2017, winning narrowly. And, despite the upbeat atmosphere now, it is a reminder that the party will have to defend as well as to gain seats if they are to take power. The next Prime Minister, Jeremy Corbyn the labour leader got a warm welcome in the cold weather. Speaking on the stump to supporters is what he likes to do best. He set out clear dividing lines for his opponents. This election is a once in a generation chance to transform our country, to take on the vested interests that are Holding People back, and ensure that no community in any part of this country is ever left behind again. Even if the rivers freeze over, we are going out to bring real change for the many, not the few. He said labour would take on what he called a rigged and corrupt system that worked only for a privileged elite. We are going after the tax dodgers, we are going after the dodgy landlords, we are going after the bad bosses, we are going after the big polluters, because we know whose side we, the labour party, are on. Applause. This wasnt exactly a pitch for the Centre Ground byJeremy Corbyn. His tone was uncompromising. It was designed in part to appeal to young voters and previous non voters who need to be convinced that politics can make a difference, but hes searching for a message that can appeal beyond brexit, to voters in both leave and remain areas. You know what day this is halloween, obviously but it was also the day that we were supposed to be spirited out of the eu. This is what the Prime Minister used to say about a brexit extension. Id rather be dead in a ditch. We are coming out of the eu on october 31st, come what may. Borisjohnson is still very much alive but he chose to make a visit to a hospital in cambridge. He chose today to fight on labours traditional territory of investing in Public Services. He also blamed his opponents for the brexit delay. The only thing we can really do now is go to our people, go to the country and say, lets get this thing done. We have an oven ready deal, put it in the microwave, as soon as we get back after the election on the 12th of december, get it done, and then lets get on with our domestic agenda, and its fantastically exciting to be here at addenbrookes hospital in cambridge, looking at what we are doing to support the nhs. In westminster, the lib dems unveiled a Campaign Slogan then quite literally conveyed this message to borisjohnson and Jeremy Corbyns constituencies. Jo swinsons party are putting brexit at the centre of the campaign. But labour and the conservatives have clashed today on a much wider policy agenda. Iain watson, bbc news. Our chief Political Correspondent vicki young is at westminster. How much have labour stolen a march today on the rest of them with this official launch . Theyjust today on the rest of them with this official launch . They just want to get out as quickly as they could and start getting their message across because so many labour people talk about 2017 when the party went into the election behind in the polls, Jeremy Corbyns rating was low but he improved on that during their campaigning. It was way better than anyone expected. The party are looking at that and seeing we can go further and beat the conservatives. They think they can do that by talking about other than brexit. The offering from Jeremy Corbyn, a radical manifesto, renationalisation of the water industry and of the meal industry and railways as well and a higher living. They cannot ignore brexit completely because it has dominated everything for the last years butJeremy Corbyn is saying our approach, after a lot of confusion, now he says it is very simple. He will renegotiate a deal if he is Prime Minister and put it back to the people in a referendum. He would not answer how he would personally vote in that referendum. That is still an issue for labour. They have not come out as an overwhelmingly remain party despite many in the shadow cabinet wanting to do so. The question as well that harm them on election day . Whether people are voting because of their views on brexit or because people are worried about a lot of other things including health and education. Boris johnson also out and about, talking about a variety of issues of concern to voters but it is not their official campaign yet . No, that is right. It is interesting talking to conservative mps, they are worried about fighting on labour territory like on the nhs for example. Questions yesterday we re for example. Questions yesterday were quite difficult for Boris Johnson but clearly does not want to talk just about Brexit Johnson but clearly does not want to talkjust about brexit but people will say that is no mean selling point. Given what has happened with brexit, he can go around the country thing i have got ideal and it is ready to go and i can have this dealt with quickly if you give me a majority so i can go back to parliament and do that. But he does wa nt to parliament and do that. But he does want to talk about other things, i am sure they will be mindful that a lot of people are looking and saying, the long time after years of austerity that have been cuts in services and he is trying to offset some of that. Whether people take that seriously or not will be important. If you look back to 2016, the conservative needed to win six extra but labour needed to win 60 extra so it is a big challenge just to get a majority of even one. Thank you very much. Up until a few days ago businesses across the country had been preparing for the uk to leave the European Union at 11 oclock tonight. Now instead theyre having to get ready for yet another brexit deadline. Our Business Editor simon jack is here. How frustrating is this for business . Incredibly frustrating. You will remember they were told to stockpile and get ready for the march. We then had another blitz on getting your business ready for brexit on october the 31st. Business ready for brexit on october the sist. It business ready for brexit on october the 31st. It will happen, new sr bites. In a few hours time another brexit deadline will have come and gone. It will happen, no doubt about it. I have been talking to our business women who explain some of the frustrations and difficulties of running a business. Its been a unique experience in my business life. Normally when you are making Business Decisions within a team youve got maybe five, six, seven variables and youre fairly sure about four or five of those and maybe you dont know about the last two and you weigh up the options and take a view. It feels like with the brexit scenario that we have got 50 variables of which we know very little about. You end up going in an agonising circle around and around in decisions and discussion. So what do businesses make of the prospect of a december election . This is one more bit of uncertainty. The brexit outcome depends heavily on how that general election goes. There are some people who are staying let us clear the air, we need a democratic event to get is down the line but for those businesses who had stockpiled, not just the cash to get the stock in but also the management time and energy, doing all the things they dont want to be doing and none of the things they do want to be doing so the things they do want to be doing so they will hope that the election will break the brexit deadlock. There is no guarantee that it will and so while the political sense means things are moving, businesses feel stuck where they have been for the last three and a half years. As you can see there, that is exhausting, to moralising and a frustrating experience. Thank you very much. The labour mp keith vaz has been suspended from the house of commons for six months after breaking pa rliaments code of conduct. Mps approved recommendations from the Commons Standards Committee after mr vaz was found guilty of being willing to buy cocaine. The mp for leicester east, who is currently being treated in hospital, has faced growing calls from within his own party to stand down as a candidate at the upcoming general election. The headlines on bbc news. Labour launch their Election Campaign promising to take on what they call the establishment elite. on the day borisjohnson pledged the uk would leave the eu the Prime Minister says its Jeremy Corbyns fault that brexit hasnt happened and focusses on Public Services. The us house of representatives passes a resolution to formally proceed with the impeachment inquiry, against President Trump. Eddiejones has eddie jones has kept eddiejones has kept the faith eddie jones has kept the faith with the same team that beat the all blacks in the semifinal, a repeat of the 2007 final. Craig levein has been sacked as manager of hearts, who are currently at the bottom of the scottish premiership table. Kyle edmund is has been knocked out of the paris masters, beaten by Novak Djokovic in the third round. I will be back with one of those stories after her past five. The us house of representatives has passed a vote to formalise the procedures of the impeachment inquiry into President Trump. The vote today signals a move into a more public stage of the investigation, following several weeks of closed door depositions. Lets listen to the moment when house speaker, nancy pelosi, announced the results earlier. On this vote, the yays are 232. The nays are 196. The resolution is adopted without objection. The motion to reconsider its lead upon the table. Our washington correspondent Gary Odonoghue is at capitol hill. Remainder is how we got to where we are now. 30 days ago the democrats decided to look at the process of impeaching this precedents, effectively taking him and examining his actions in relation to that supposed quid pro quo for with ukraine, putting pressure on them and asking them to investigate his political rivals here at home. For the last 30 days the democrats have been gathering evidence behind closed doors with interviews. A lot of that stuff has come out and emerged. Today there was a vote to see how we will carry the investigation forward, some will be in public. Republicans can question the legitimacy of behind the doors investigations but there was never any doubt about these arrangements, two democrats voted against it but what you will see now is a broadening of this process, and more public process potentially ending up with the real vote, which is the house vote on whether or not to endorse those articles of impeachment and that will come by christmas. After that you head into a trial in the senate. What has the white house reaction been . This the what the democrats are involved in is an unhinged obsession. They say. They have trashed the process and called it a scam. They have not engaged in the detail of the allegations that the president is facing, they are trying to undermine the process itself. That has been a unified strategy from the white house and republicans on capitol hill. He won the American People to hear the facts that this president is being pursued, yet again by a bunch of democrats who should be doing theirjobs and passing laws and talking about things that matter to the American People. They want the American People. This is the biggest rupture for this american president since the miller investigation linked his campaign to the russian government. Police in cambodia say the body of british backpacker who went missing a week ago has been found in the sea. Twenty one year old amelia bambridge, from worthing in west sussex, disappeared on the island of koh rong. Our correspondent nick beake spoke to us earlier from the island. Spoke to us earlier clearly, this was the news amelias family were dreading. It was the head of the Cambodian Navy who said that amelias body was discovered many dozens of miles out to sea. Formal identification will take place tomorrow but we have seen in the past half an hour that amelias brother harry who had been out on the island involved in the search, he has written on facebook saying that he has now seen the body and, yes, it is his little sister. Devastating for him, his mum and dad, and other relatives. All of whom had come out of the island after hearing that amelia had disappeared a week ago. She was 21 years old. We know she had been working for two years back in the uk to save up to come to asia. But she apparently disappeared in the early hours of last thursday. She was last seen at a beach party. When she didnt come back to her hostel she was reported missing the next day. Her possessions were found on rocks very near the shore inside her bag. Her mobile phone, her bank cards, her purse, but simply no sign of amelia. Her body has now been found, ben, but at this point, we do not know how she died. And for the family, there is the dreadful realisation that they may never know. We have had a statement from the Foreign Office regarding the discovery of amelias boise seeing oui discovery of amelias boise seeing our thoughts are with her family at this extremely distressing time. Our staff are providing brief support and bereavement advice and remaining in close contact in cambodia. A fire has swept through a train in pakistan, killing more than seventy people and injuring dozens of other passengers. The train was travelling from karachi to rawalpindi its thought the blaze began when passengers used a gas cylinder to cook their breakfast and it exploded. Our correspondent in islamabad is Secunder Kermani a warning you may find his report distressing. Desperate bystanders watch as the flames burn. They engulfed at least three of the busy carriages. Many of the passengers were heading for a religious gathering. Translation it was very difficult for us to get out of the train and save our lives. Some members of the group managed to pull the emergency chain. It was very chaotic. Everyone thought they were going to die. The injured were rushed to hospital, some by helicopter, whilst helpless crowds watched firefighters extinguish the blaze. Amongst the wreckage, these gas cylinders Railway Officials believe the fire was caused when one exploded whilst passengers used it to cook food. Translation we could smell something burning in the night, i kept on saying that i can smell something burning, but no one paid attention. So in the morning we saw there was a fire in carriage 12, and from carriage 12 it spread to carriage 13. Translation it was an oversight that they managed to take the cylinders on board, which caused the explosion. At small stations, there are no scanners, only at larger ones. We regret this terrible event has happened. May god grant to the victims a place in paradise. In a tweet, Prime Minister imran khan expressed his condolences and ordered an inquiry. There is anger about the lack of security checks that could have detected the cylinders and also claims that the cause of the fire was actually an electrical fault. For the moment, though, the authorities are still trying to identify all the dead. Secunder kermani, bbc news, islamabad. His quirky phrases and distinctive shouts have made john bercow a well known figure not only at westminster but around the world. Well in just the last hour, after ten years in the chair, hes finished his last day as commons speaker. His sucessor will be elected on monday. Heres mark lowen. Order bellowing. Behave yourself colourful. I couldnt give a flying flamingo what your view is unforgettable. Leave the chamber, get out, well manage without you asjohn bercow leaves the speakers chair after a decade, the tributes are piling up. You have been a remarkable speaker of this house. You have been a champion of the parliament and have been a reformer. As other honourable members and right honourable members said, you thought about opening up this place so that young people already country can see it is their parliament, it is therefore them. It has been an incredibly challenging time in parliament and ijust was not feeling like i was here, that i really valued what it is we are doing here. Mr speaker has been kind enough to call me on a regular basis over the past few weeks in the question of interventions and so on and i have fallen back in love with this chamber and i thank you for that, mr speaker. The highest duty of the speaker of the house of commons is to be the champion of our house and its members, and to defend our right to freedom of speech, the defence of our constituents, and, mr speaker, you have done that. Even at 18, john bercow had the rhetorical flourish and the crowd pleasing lines. I would suggest to mrs castle that the reason she sought to join the European Parliament was precisely the same. An mp from 1997, hes reformed the speakership, ditching the Traditional Court dress, empowering backbenchers. He overcame allegations of bullying, questions about his expenses, and a sticker in a car he drove reading, bullocks to brexit. That sticker on the subject of brexit happens to be affixed to or in the windscreen of my wifes car. Yes. And im sure the honourable gentleman wouldnt suggest for one moment. Laughter. That a wife is somehow the property or chattel of her husband it was his interventions on brexit that catapulted him to fame. Stopping a third meaningful vote on theresa mays deal, allowing the benn no deal bill to be debated. Feted by remainers, hated by leavers. It is becoming remarkable how often you please one lot and not the other. From junior tennis champion. To speaker and unlikely celebrity. Order john bercow is bowing out. Division remembered long after he will be given his marching orders. Mark lowen, bbc news. Lt Gen David Leakey was black rod at the house of lords between 2011 and 2018. Lets speak to him now. Thank you forjoining us. How would you characterise john thank you forjoining us. How would you characterisejohn bercows time a speaker . I am inclined to agree with some of the comments pete to him and the tributes to him which we just recorded. Pete to him. He has championed reform in the house of commons and in parliament generally. Not all of those have been his own ideas but the ones that have been good he has pursued, championed them and he must get some credit for that. I applaud him for that as well. He has brought colour to the chamber, not everybody thinks he has done it in a way wholly consistent with the role of the speaker, which is to be the moderator of debate and discussion of questions, holding the government to account in the house of commons. Some people think that he has been sometimes made himself the centre of attention in the chamber and some people would accuse him of having been narcissistic. That is not what is required of a speaker. Some people would say that he has been impartial, others would disagree. You need to point about remainers and leavers. Ithink you need to point about remainers and leavers. I think also there are members of his own party who have complains he has been over partial towards the opposition party. It is too early tojudge towards the opposition party. It is too early to judge and i think it will be for history to judge whether he has been a good or bad speaker in that sense of controlling and moderating the house of commons but there is a much more important legacy, which needs addressing in his case. That is his leadership as speaker. As a leader, a leader has to show integrity and honesty us and openness. And one of the major components of leadership is integrity and integrity includes being fairto integrity and integrity includes being fair to everyone. I can speak from personal experience and i have spoken to others and indeed seen others being treated badly and abusively at the hands of mr burkle and have been complaints and allegations made against him. At the hands ofjohn bercow. So i think he will be remembered as a reforming speaker, a charismatic and colourful speaker, a charismatic and colourful speaker but he will also be remembered as somebody who championed equality and fairness but in his own dealings and handling people, behind closed doors surely and that has not been investigated so and that has not been investigated so any allegations which have not been proven may never be proven but i dont think you have to live behind closed doors. You can look at the many vignettes, even on youtube i think at the speakers demeaning handling of both sides of mps of the chamber, including ministers. That demeaning handling of people in public, on television, sets an appalling example to the country. If he had anyone else behaved like that is the head or leader or cheer of any organisation, whether in the Public Service or private sector or universities, they would be at least investigated or censored or if not removed. In this sense, parliament to set a bad example and it is not just a complaint against the speaker for having done this, it is also against super and feeble attempts of parliament to moderate the behaviour not just of parliament to moderate the behaviour notjust of mr burkle but other mps who are alleged to have been abusive and harass their staffs and colleagues. Not just and harass their staffs and colleagues. Notjust ofjohn bercow. Let us have a quick look at what is happening in the house of commons. After this adjournment debate, john bercow will stand down. That would be in the honourable ladys constituency. We have also set a long term deal. Ladys constituency. We have also set a longterm deal. John bercow will leave the house of commons as speakerfor the final will leave the house of commons as speaker for the final time and there will be an election on monday for a new speaker. England have named an Unchanged Team for the rugby world final on saturday. The side continued their preparations for the game in tokyo and head coach eddiejones says they are relaxed and ready for their showdown with south africa. Meanwhile some fans have been going to extraordinary lengths to make it to the game, as andy swiss reports. Today they were strolling the streets of tokyo, but soon they could have the world at their feet. Englands players relaxed but ready. Their preparations are almost complete. An Unchanged Team for the final hardly surprising after their win over new zealand. And if that was some display, well, south africa, watch out. Oh, we can definitely play better, theres no doubt about it, and the players know that. Yeah, ive been so impressed by the preparation of the players throughout the tournament, and particularly this week, there is a steeliness about them, but also a nice relaxed feeling, because they know theyve done the work. But if its been some journey here for the players, well, how about these two fans . Mark and sue farrell drove some 12,000 miles to get here over four months from their home in devon all the way to japan. Theyve seen every england game, but tickets to the final, well, theyre still searching. Hence the hat, yep i dont mind making a spectacle of myself, as long as we end up with a ticket. So we are determined to be there. Oh, i mean, everything really, it would be the complete pinnacle of our trip, really, you know . Its what we want. And this is where theyre hoping to be at yokohama stadium, the stage is set. Well, englands team here on saturday will be on built on many different pillars from the speed ofjonny may to the tackling of sam underhill, the power of maro itoje to the poise of owen farrell. But what all of them will share is the chance to change their lives by becoming world champions. One of the last england team to achieve that in 2003 says, despite the strength of the springboks, the players can do it. Its having that fire power, you know, youve got to stand up to the school bully, not be bullied, but then youve got to play with your brain as well. And if england can do that, then, you know, theyre going to go a long way towards winning the world cup. Tonight, england fans were savouring a rather different celebration here tokyos halloween festivities. But come this weekend, theyll be hoping for some magic of their own. Andy swiss, bbc news, tokyo. Time for a look at the weather. Heres nick miller. This is a sense of what we had rather than the what is coming. It isa rather than the what is coming. It is a weather forecast, you know there are changes on the way in the weather. For many others there has been a lull and we have enjoyed some drier days. That is about to change and perhaps heading out this evening, there is patchy rain across western parts of the uk. That becomes more extensive and pushes further north and east as we go through the night, avoiding northern scotland. Cloud moving in with temperatures dropping nowhere near as low as they have recently, particularly in scotland. A mild start but worked for some, rain pushing north for the rest of scotland, through the east of england and behind it drier brighter spells coming through, with further rain pushing in. With that there will be a strengthening south westerly wind. The winds start to pick up and it will be much milder with some of us tomorrow in england and wales and Northern Ireland, on the cool side in parts of scotland. Potentially stormy conditions across southern parts of the uk. More on thatjust before 6pm. This is bbc news. The headlines labour launch their Election Campaign promising to take on what they call the establishment elite. The body of missing british backpacker, amelia bambridge, is found in cambodia. More than 70 passengers are killed as their train catches fire in pakistan. Lets ta ke lets take a look at with all of the sports news with sarah. England coach eddiejones has named an Unchanged Team for saturdays World Cup Final against south africa. Theres the skipper, owen farrell who will continue at centre. George ford stays at fly half. This is the team walk about after training in tokyo ahead of saturdays final. We heard from head coach eddiejones today, he says that they have been building up to this moment for four years, we also heard from hookerjamie george about the influence of the captain, and the Emotional Team meetings he holds , for only the players on the eve of matches. First of all, he leads from the front, incredibly committed, the way that he performs, he carries himself day in day out. That is the sort of person you want to, you know, follow. I think also he has developed in terms of his messaging to the team and how we build that up to the team and how we build that up to what the game on saturday and he makes, you know, his messaging throughout the week is brilliant and he makes the team feel so ready on saturday and he builds confidence up throughout the week. I think a large pa rt throughout the week. I think a large part of that is down to him. Craig levein has been sacked as manager of hearts and will also leave his role as director of football. Only goal difference is keeping the Scottish Premiership Club off the bottom of the table. The former scotland boss levein had said that turning around the clubs poor run of form may be the biggest challenge of his career. They have won only once this season. Liverpool managerjurgen klopp has threatened to pull out of the league cup unless a suitable date can be found for their quarterfinal against aston villa. Its scheduled for the same week that liverpool are in qatar taking part in the Club World Cup jurgen klopp says that unless that tie can be moved then they might have to pull out of the competition, give aston villa a bye or let arsenal play it instead, thats who they beat last night on penalties. The efl say that they are in discussions with the club to find a suitable date. It might have to be january. The draw for the quarterfinals was held this morning, this was the reaction of the colchester united squad, when they found out theyd drawn Manchester United at old trafford. League one Oxford United host the holders manchester city, kyle edmund was brushed aside by world number one Novak Djokovic in the third round of the paris masters. The briton ended an eight match losing run when he won his opening round match against Ricardas Berankis before defeating 14th seed diego schwartzman. He did take the first set to a tie break but djokovic took that and the second set was far more comfortable for the serb as he won 7 6, 6 1. Rory mcilroy is three shots off the pace after carding an opening round 67 at the wgc event in shanghai. Mcilroy, who finished in a tie for third at last weeks zozo championship injapan, started slowly to reach the turn in level par before five birdies in six holes during the back nine catapulted him up the leaderboard. Englishman Matthew Fitzpatrick is well placed on six under par. The england one day captain eoin morgan is going to skipper the side until at least the twenty20 world cup in australia next year. He led the team to the 50 over world cup this summer but had been considering his role. Iam very i am very comfortable with the decision ive made. I am delighted i made it because i feel it is the right one for myself and the team. There were questions over my fitness and how i would come back and play, i suppose, but i think that was just lingering in my head because i was back playing county cricket two weeks after the final. Thats all the sport for now. You can find more on all those stories on the bbc sport website. Lets get more on the general election. The culture secretary, nicky morgan, has been explaining why shes decided not to stand. The conservative mp for loughborough says she wants to spend more time with her family, but admitted that the abuse shed received in recent times had been a factor. Oh, hugely difficult. I love being loughboroughs member of parliament and the constituency work has always been something ive really enjoyed and i loved being dcms secretary of state, but there comes a time when youve got to work out the balance of your life, and i have said that in my letter, which is actually the sacrifice and the impact on family, is outweighed, or in this case, has become the bigger thing for me to be concerned about, because im so frustrated with how parliament has behaved over the last couple of years. Has the abuse played a part, because that is the headline, if you like, after your decision to quit . It has certainly been a factor, i wouldnt say its been the tipping point. I think over the last couple of years, ive had a number of people prosecuted for Death Threats and that kind of thing and i had an e mail in my office recently which a couple of years ago i think we would have reported to the police, and wejust agreed, oh, well, thats not as offensive as others we get. But it has become something definitely, everyday you open the e mails, and theres more abusive e mails this is not what it used to be in 2010. There was a tweet today from a labour mp saying she had seen an mp from another party today who was in floods of tears because she was quitting, because she felt she was too soft to be here. I mean, youre a great campaigner for getting women into politics and here you are going what is going wrong . I am very conscious that part of the difficulty in making the decision was actually, what signal does it send out if some of our female mps decide its not for them . I think theres always going to be a churn in parliament and people coming and going. And we need that. There needs to be a new speaker, i think there needs to be a wholesale culture change in the house of commons and an understanding that actually we are expected to live in two places and if you are trying to balance family life and responsibilities other people do it, too. But i think there is an over expectation of the role of the mp and the high profile person that you become, that as i say makes the balance of life quite difficult to achieve. But we do need more women, and i hope that this doesnt put people off, but weve got to tackle this culture of abuse, in particular. Because it does seem there is a disproportionate number of high profile women who are stepping down, and as you say, it sends out the wrong signal, doesnt it . Look, it is a difficult signal but i do think for a lot of us, it has very much been that balance between. Being an mp is a wonderfuljob and it gives you the opportunity to work with lots of people from different backgrounds to really help people to solve their problems, and women are great at doing it. But we all have to balance the other impact on other parts of our lives and when you start, for me, it was about being part of an institution which has struggled to fulfil what we needed to do, on the Biggest Issue of our time, and actually once i could see that wasnt working, then i began to think, the other bits of my life which have been heavily impacted, why am i putting them through this . Lets bring you some breaking news. President trump has suggested the governments brexit deal could hamper a trade agreement with the United States, and has attacked the labour Leaderjeremy Corbyn. Hes been speaking to the brexit party mep nigel farage, on farages lbc radio programme. Our Political Correspondent nick eardleyjoins us. Normally there is a convention that foreign leaders dont get involved in domestic campaigns. Donald trump is not a man for convention. A couple of key things he said on this lbc interview. The first one on the brexit deal that the government has negotiated with union. As you say, suggesting that might hamper a trade deal with the United States. Let me tell you exactly what President Trump told lbc. He said, to be honest, a deal, under certain circumstances of the deal, you cant do it, you cant trade. We cant do a trade with the uk. That is not the message to borisjohnson once because the government has consistently argued this deal allows them to do trade deals with the rest of the world after brexit. President trump, from what weve heard so far, the extracts weve heard, doesnt go into tremendous detail about exactly why and as you know, nigel farage is a critic. We will wait to see if there is any more detail there. The other thing President Trump doesnt hesitate to do is have a go at Jeremy Corbyn. We know they are not particularly close after he turned down the banquet when President Trump was in town. That argument continues in this interview with President Trump saying Jeremy Corbyn would be so bad for your country, he would be so bad for your country, he would be so bad. He would take you in sucha would be so bad. He would take you in such a bad way. He would take you into such bad places. Also dismissing the idea thatJeremy Corbyn has been talking about, the us would want access to the nhs as pa rt us would want access to the nhs as part of any trade deal if that was to happen after brexit. Weve not heard back from the labour party yet but i gotta say im not sure this does mr corbin all that damage because he is pretty open about not being on the same age as President Trump whereas borisjohnson has had a pretty close relationship with the president , and that stuff about a trade deal being harder because of the Brexit Agreement may not be one number ten wants to hear. Wait there for a second because i think we can now hear the clip nick was just talking about regarding this potential trade deal. Well, i dont want to tell boris or are you because you had a great impact in this, nigel. You and i have become friends over the last couple of use and you saw what was happening with my thing just like you saw what was happening over there. You are a great tea leaf reader. And i would like to see you and boris get together because you would really have some numbers because you did fantastically in the election, the last election. Absolutely. He was back to a lot, i can tell you that. He respects you a lot. Borisjohnson working together with nigel farage. They also mentioned Jeremy Corbyn and this trade deal. Nick is still with us. Weve seen in the past, nick, when foreign leaders have got involved in domestic issues, it is not always working out well for both. Absolutely. There often is a bit of a kickback from the sort of comments. You could hear in the clip there that the two are close. Donald trump and nigel farage are long standing allies so the fact that President Trump is praising the brexit party isnt a surprise. Probably based nigel farage because he is due to launch his general Election Campaign in the next few days and we know that he had been calling for an electoral pact with borisjohnson, something calling for an electoral pact with Boris Johnson, something the conservatives have rebuffed and are not interested in doing. But as i say, other thing that might be most uncomfortable from that interview in terms of domestic politics here is that suggestion this trade deal is complicated. The trade deal in the us is obligated by what Boris Johnson has agreed with the European Union. Is complicated. The devil will be in the detail. Thank you, nick in westminster. The so called Islamic State group has confirmed the death of its leader Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi following the us. Raid on the weekend. The group also announced Abu Ibrahim Al hashimi alqurashi as the successor. It comes as the us military released the first images of the raid. The footage shows operation by American Special forces soldiers, culminating in the destruction of al baghdadis compound. Chris buckler reports. In the first Images Released of the raid, you can see Us Special Forces making their way into the building where Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi was hiding. As they flew into the area, the american troops were shot at by militants. Were not showing the next portion of this video, but in it, they strike back, killing many of those on the ground. Baghdadi was the leader of the Islamic State group, and the United States had been searching for him for years. In a graphic description of his last moments, President Trump claimed he was crying and whimpering. The pentagon could not confirm that, but they said he tried to escape through an underground tunnel. Now, about baghdadis last moments, i can tell you this. He crawled into a hole with two small children and blew himself up while his people stayed on the ground, so you can deduce what kind of person it is based on that activity. So that would be just my empirical observation of what he did, im not able to confirm anything else about his last seconds. Us soldiers gathered documents and electronic equipment at the compound before bombing it. It was completely levelled to ensure it didnt become Something Like a shrine. This was a dangerous mission, and baghdadi was not alone in the building. Two people were taken into custody here, and five others were killed, including four women. The other people that were engaged on the objective were behaving in a threatening manner with suicide vests, approaching the raid force. That causes you to make some decisions, particularly when they dont respond to arabic language commands to stop, warning shots, and the progression of escalation that, you know, our special operators are so very good at. Us military leaders say is as an organisation has been badly damaged by the raid, but they are concerned about the possibility of retaliatory attacks. Baghdadi may be dead and his hideaway destroyed, but the ideology of hate he helped inspire remains a threat. Chris buckler, bbc news, washington. With me now is our security correspondent frank gardner. How significant is it that we have the death confirmed and also the name of the successor . I think it is to be expected. It has taken four days of questioning about whether it is really true. A lot of isis supporters are hoping this was propaganda because there have been numerous reports in the past about the death of baghdadi. The successor is not somebody who is a household name to everybody. I would imagine he wasnt particularly on any kind of intelligence lists. Usually when she had a tests start their name with abu, it means father of. Father of eva him, is the suggestion. They are demanding allegiance from the worlds muslims. They have called for a vengeance. They have warned that the days under baghdadi will be sweet compared to what is under him. He will likely have a short span in charge. How much of an inspiration well a man like this be in northern syria, particular for those in man like this be in northern syria, particularfor those in prison. One of the last acts of baghdadi was deliberate the prisons. The kurds focused on defending their own territory from turkeys incursion so they have taken their eyes of the prisons. They had to take a lot of people away from those present is that there is a momentum to try and liberate those prisons and there are some very dangerous people in those loosely guarded prisons. I am sure he will continue that call. Thank you, frank. More now on the general election. Jeremy corbyn has launched labours Election Campaign with a promise to take on the establishment elite. The labour leader said the december 12 poll would be a once in a generation chance to transform the country, and take on what he called the tax dodgers, dodgy landlords, bad bosses and big polluters. The shadow transport secretary, Andy Mcdonald is in our middlesbrough newsroom. Given that we are always told that you wind an election from the middle, why is jeremy you wind an election from the middle, why isJeremy Corbyn seemingly avoiding the Centre Ground . Because we face a stark choice. We can either continue to allow people who exploit workers, who pollute, exploit tenants, to have free reign, 01 we can say exploit tenants, to have free reign, or we can say those are the issues that concern us and we are going to address them, and i think that is the right thing to do. These are the issues that concern people on a daily basis and we are on their side. We will stand up for them and make that people who want to engage in exploitative behaviours are brought to account and cannot do it any longer. When you are knocking on doors out and about, what are you going to say about labours stance on brexit . Your party has been massively divided and somehow youve got to appeal to those who want to leave and remain. We will say very straightforwardly that the people will decide. They will have the final say. We will negotiate a new deal with the European Union, a credible option to leave the European Union, and put that against the alternative of remaining and that will be done within six months. We will get that credible deal negotiated and put it back to the people for them to decide and let them have the final say. How different would your deal look from Boris Johnsons how different would your deal look from borisjohnsons agreement . Very significantly, because the principles that would underline it would be a permanent Customs Union which will deal with issues around frictionless trade and tariffs, which are critically important. It would also resolve the crisis created in terms of the position of Northern Ireland and borisjohnson said no british Prime Ministers should ever put a border down the irish sea and then within weeks of making that promise he has done exactly that. That leads to all manner of difficulties and undermines the good friday agreement. A permanent Customs Union will resolve that. We already had those discussions with the eu, and they have shown themselves to be receptive so we would accept that and expected to be resolved quickly and expected to be resolved quickly and secure that deal within three months, going to the people within three months thereafter and let the people the final say. Nigel farage has been talking to President Trump on his lbc programme. Less than complimentary aboutjeremy programme. Less than complimentary about Jeremy Corbyn. Programme. Less than complimentary aboutJeremy Corbyn. He says, Jeremy Corbett would be so bad for your country. He would be so bad, he would be such a bad way, take you into such bad places. It is not a normal protocol for foreign leaders to intervene in domestic affairs. How much of a slight is that to your leader . Im rather pleased hes got the message because a Labour Government will not be throwing themselves into the arms of donald trump for a Free Trade Agreement that would see him have open access to our National Health service. We already know the plans they have for our pharmaceutical concerns. They want to be able to sell as drugs at massively inflated prices, hence the secret negotiations going on between the uk government officials and the pharmaceutical industry in the United States. We are not doing that, we are not going to see the bill right from £80 billion a year to £45 bill right from £80 billion a year to £16 billion. People need those drugs for asthma and diabetes and we are not going to let donald trump or his friends see the United Kingdom asa his friends see the United Kingdom as a feeding ground to get rich on, and norare we as a feeding ground to get rich on, and nor are we going to lie them to pollute our country with chlorine checking and hormone injected beef. It is not going to happen. I am pleased that he understands that our interests are totally at odds with his own. He can have that conversation with nigel farage and borisjohnson all he wishes but we are making it clear a Labour Government will not entertain that in any way whatsoever. Thank you. 2,000 Service Personnel have joined forces with veterans, volunteers and celebrities to try to raise a Million Pounds in a single day for the Royal British legion in london. Its the biggest street cash collection of its kind in europe, with collectors hitting train stations and streets across the capital. Saw quite a few of them on the way in. Lets take a look at the weather forecast. Heres nick miller. More rain to come in the forecast. If you have been taking advantage of drier days recently, that is about to change. In south west england, it has been wet and windy at times with big waves into the coastline. That low pressure, which has stuck close by will move across the rest of the uk and bringing rain and strong winds with it. This evening we are just about holding on to some fine weather for trick or treaters but that goes away into the night as rain spreads further north and east. It is going to be a milder start tomorrow compared to recent warnings. A lot of cloud with rain in places and low pressure pumping more weather fronts are way as we go through friday into the weekend. With that mild air we have established it will be a mild start in the morning with some temperatures back into the mid teens. We will see some rain at some stage in the day, taking a while to get into northern scotland. There is the gap there which does deliver some drier and brighter weather but then more rain later in the day, strengthening winds as well. Milder for many but still on the cool side for many but still on the cool side for many but still on the cool side for many of us in scotland with cloud and rain, feeling quite chilly compared to where we have seen some sunshine. Looking at this area of low pressure on saturday. A strengthening area of low pressure with perhaps even stormy conditions in places. Saturday wont look like this exactly when we get to it but we wa nt this exactly when we get to it but we want to show you to give you an idea of heavy rain in places and we may well see some gusts approaching 70 mph on the south coast. Quite windy in northern scotland as well. If you have things planned on saturday, and there will be fireworks events taking place into the evening, do keep on checking the focus to see how any wind or rain is going to be. Temperatures coming down a bit on saturday. Into sunday, the low pressure is still close by. Still quite windy and still some rain and showers around but some areas escaping. Some rain at times but dont think the whole weekend is a wash out. It is not going to be the case. 10 30d. Low pressure is coming back and unsettled weather once again. A met Office Weather warning for rain on saturday. Details on the website. Labour launches its general Election Campaign, on the day the uk was supposed to leave the European Union.
