During a routine drive against banned plastic, BBMP marshals discovered a unit that was producing plastic bags with no permission from BBMP or KSPCB. It was raids on shops nearby using the banned single-use plastic that led them to the unit. A fine of Rs 50,000 has been imposed for plastic trading as per SWM 2016 rules.
