Sacramento's Burger Patch, a 2-year-old, plant-based fast casual concept, has signed on as the official local restaurant partner of the 2021 SBD World's Strongest Man competition. Sacramento is hosting the annual global competition of strength June 15-20, 2021, and Burger Patch will supply the competition with on-site catering.
"If our burgers can meet the needs of elite athletes like the world's strongest men, we're confident they'll stack up for every consumer," co-founder CEO Phil Horn said in a company press release.
Horn and COO Stephen Leopold are no strangers to professional sports with over 20 years of combined experience as executives in the NBA working alongside world-class athletes, many of whom are now migrating to plant-based diets, according to a company press release.
