Children's room a place of calm at the Autauga courthouse
PRATTVILLE — The Autauga County Courthouse is the big yellow brick building at the corner of Fourth and Court streets in downtown Prattville. And at the corner of that big yellow building is an itty, bitty bright green room.
The Children's Room is an oasis of sorts for youngsters who are in the courthouse for whatever reason. There are rocking chairs, toys, stuffed animals, a chalkboard, board games, books and a cool mural with rainbows and flowers as you walk in. It was a dream for a long time of Autauga District Judge Joy Booth, who handles juvenile cases.
