Coronavirus in Illinois updates: 808 new COVID-19 cases — the lowest number in 2 months — and 17 deaths reported

Illinois is starting to see a consistent downward trend in new daily COVID-19 cases. On Tuesday, state officials reported 808 new cases, the lowest daily total since March 15 and the third straight day with under 1,000 new cases.
Officials also said Tuesday that 65% of adults in the state have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is nearing President Joe Biden’s goal of 70% of adults with one at least one shot by July 4.
