For Christo Brock, there isn't all that much of a difference between directing a documentary film and concocting a fine craft beer.
That much is evident from his new movie, the beer industry celebration "Brewmance." The film looks at the history of the American craft beer world while following two start-up California operations: Ten Mile Brewing from Dan Sundstrom and his son Jesse, and Liberation Brewing, co-founded by former Reel Big Fish trombone player Dan Regan.
“One of the things I try to do in my films is I try to make them layered and complex," said Brock. "So there’s the subject, which is craft beer. Then you have the history stuff. Then you have a father/son story. You have the story of an ex-rock star and his friends, and there’s the story of just starting a business. And I think (it's) like a very tasty, well-balanced craft beer that has all these different layers and things going on."
