It took us billionaire businessman who supposed to be as disconnected as anyone from you to actually represent you in the kingdom of washington dc. So from the moment he came down the escalator he changed american politics fundamentally for good cause when you go to these rallies and talk to these people heres the consensus. I feltlike i was losing my country. I felt like both parties were participating in it. I felt like the Republican Party talk to good game and did nothing to fix it and i was so sick and tired of politics as usual i wanted someone with a sledgehammer, a brooklyn brawler to go blow it all up and thats kind of special and in fact, i said it was kind of poetic and of course people say i dont like his tweets and i dont like his im going to address this and one time only and heres the best way i can address it. America was drowning in the middle of the ocean under the managed decline of both Political Parties and both parties contributed to this. Two Big Government management and adventurism abroad while our country is crumbling and in the middle of the night when we are gasping for air and rescue helicopter brings us back to life and we are able to breathe again and the first person you say to the personthat rescues us is i dont like your tweet history. We are breezing again, its completely and totally irrelevant. Its like a heart surgeon that, thank you for the triple bypass surgery, by the way hate your tweets but im glad were breathing again and i can make an argument that the twitter feed actually sets the cadence and is a public north star for every Single Person to understand what the president is trying to accomplish and keep people accountable for it because traditionally hold a press conference, the media wont always cover it but now theres a realtime entered and accountability measure for everyone to see exactly what the president is thinking and doing. I think hes hilarious. I actually like a politician that is outside the party say one thing to another thing consensus in washington dc. I dont care if he offends a couple people here and there, i like the fact he punches back twice as hard and politicians have been fighting and theyve been for quickly okay with this kind of managed decline so when i heard this time and again i said thats the thesis of the Trump Presidency. Heres the big picture of the trumpet doctrine. First of all when you go into the doctor and say give me the bad news, tell me everything going on thats bad and present President Trump in his announcement address was brutal. He said were losing, our borders are wide open, china is laughing at us, our economy is anemic, obamacare is a disaster, the courts are compromised, the deep state is corrupt and this was in the thirst 30 seconds. It was the first honest assessment our country had us received in a long time and thats the first part of his doctrine and philosophy is im going to tell it straight to the american people. Im not going to sugarcoat it, im not going to tell you its one thing when it the other and the second is what ideas are rooted in a renewal of a nation and understand the historical significance of what President Trump has done and what hes trying to do and what hes getting opposition to do is trying to revitalize and resuscitate a country that was in that managed decline and its so historically improbable to do what hes doing because when you have a superpower the likes of which america, when you have 47, 50, 55 Million People on food stamps its hard to turn that around because people are going to vote themselves benefits and the Founding Fathers warned us against this and one of the things that is the most amazing accomplishments of the Trump Presidency that never gets mentioned is 10 Million People are off of food stamps and President Trump got inaugurated. Thats incredible. That is historic because for the first time in our countrys history, first time in modern american political history weve been able to turn that around and that is something that was the demise of the roman empire and many other empires before was people could vote themselves stuff but President Trump convince people and convince the electorate there is not dignity and just voting for benefits. How about we create the greatest economy in American History, how about we bring dignity back to forgotten america so then he runs on this and the historical improbability is so amazing because you see whats happening on the democrat side and you see this, it should make everyone kiss the ground and thank god the president has been able to defy the odds because senator sanders will probably get screwed out of this thing because the establishment doesnt want him to be the nominee. For good reason maybe, hes able civic and they capture simple this and decide that i hear hes a nice guy. And joe bidens political strategy is the most perplexing and puzzling political strategy ive ever seen. Confuse your wife with your sister, dont know what state youre campaigning in, dont remember the name of barack obama, dont remember the preamble, tell people not to vote for you and then call them pony faced dog soldiers or whatever he said and finish fifth and sixth in the first couple concepts, meander into topics no one cares about, have realities rallies that are a couple dozen people and eventually he will be the last person standing. Its going to do go down as one of the most puzzling strategies and a lot of it was because of Mike Bloombergs too essentially, hes the worst politician in American History, how he made 61 billion let alone ran a Board Meeting but bloomberg reset the race and his failure allowed biden to be essentially the political equivalent of what a treasury bond is. Essentially a flight to safety. What is the one thing icould put my money in where i dont care if it has no return , its just right there. Whos the key tbill . Done, joe biden. And i actually make the argument for those of us that support President Trump and this is a minority opinion, id rather run against joe biden and bernie sanders. Id rather run against corrupt and confused and authentic and free stuff. I dont want to validate and elevate a sinister marxist ideology at the highest levels of american ideology. I rather run against someone who hits half socialist, half not and the most corrupt Vice President in American History, id rather have that matchup and some people agree, some people disagree but definitely with the target audience ideal with senator sanders has more appeal and joe biden and ill build that out. You see the establishment rot on the left and the fact that President Trump was able to defeat 16 republicans, beat the bush dynasty, beat the media complex, the all the attempts to destabilize him and i talk about this in my book, i was a senator cruise supporter and a donald trump supporter in that order from the midwest and i had my doubts this guywas going to deliver for theconservative agenda and as soon as he was the nominee it wasnt a question. I traveled the country , i put everything on the line and i said there is no choice, its not even a conversation but i spent more time with donald trump junior, more time with eric trump and those of you who were day one Trump Supporters youdeserve credit because it took a lot of courage for you guys to have that. He started to see the fact he won the primary was remarkable, the fact hewon the general is more incredible. I talk about in this book and the media ridicules me and i love to bother them because i believe it was a godsend that President Trump got elected. [applause] i really do. I believe that it was nothing short of divine intervention that came down and allowed america to have a Second Chance so he gets elected, he gets inaugurated and 17 minutes after he gets inaugurated they say the case for impeaching donald trump has now begun. This is so important and i talk about in this book because i dont think its talked about enough. He could have hedged and become a vanillarepublican to try to get them off his back. Thumb alert investigation was a hoax but when they were probing mueller , it was a warning shot. They said stop it mister trump or else we are going to come after you. Dont move the embassy, dont cancel the error and deal and maybe we might not put all your friends in prison and investigate your son for a couple years and if you think im exaggerating, im from chicago. I know the way chicago mob politics works, thats the way they run washington dc and President Trump and his courage im not going to be bullied into not doing whats bestfor the american people. He very easily could have done what other past republican president s refused to do which is not moved embassy to jerusalem or recognize the Golan Heights or not do the tax cut and it came to a very big head which was something that bothered him more than anything else, i got an entire chapter on this which is the Justice Cavanaugh fight which was President Trump could have pulled the nomination on Justice Cavanaugh. A lot of people would have said i get it and instead President Trump is the first president and a lot of your lifetimes, the first president since Ronald Reagan to put the left ondefense. To push back against them where there are disoriented and confused and we call this the trump derangement system and theres a lot of truth to that, you saw that in the Justice Cavanaugh fight which was one of the most important cultural moments since i need a hill or especially in the Supreme Court where that fabricated accusations that were elevated to legitimacy by the media, aman that had a Sterling Record that was the most boring person in the history of maryland. The guy had his journals from high school. His calendars toprove his innocence, it was unbelievable and they put him , i dont even know, that should have been a nomination, 100 to nothing vote and he still had his journals from high school. On june 18 and in 1974 iwas at carls house. Its like really amazing. Its actually impressive. You deserve to be on the Supreme Court for that and nothing else. [applause] and then the gallivanting leftist apparatchiks senator harris and senator coombs and jeff flake who is part of the problem, i wrote the book in response to people like jeff flake, id use names and names in the book, not too many but jeff flake who was pathologically opposed to trump and ended up voting for kavanaugh but gave it a hard time, elevated the worst aspects of the american left where we had this absolute circus and President Trump did not waver an inch because he understands what the left is trying to do because hes been fighting the left in different forms and features his entire life. The left didnt call itself the left but when trump tied to try to build trump tower in new york city and came across the corrupt bureaucrats and democrats, thats the left and President Trump tried to build woman rick which was an iceskating rink that was delayed, that was the left so he has a playbook for this and its almost as if he was chosen for a time like this is one of the few people outside politics and has a track record of beating these sorts of tactics time and again and it takes a brooklyn street fighter sometimes to go after them and so he wins the election. He gets inaugurated and he does something that confused everybody. He actually did what he said he was going to do and we are not used to that at all area its this really bizarre thing where the aids will come into his office and say mister trump, a decision is coming up whether or not we want to renew nafta and its this strange decisionmaking process called what did i say i was going to do and thats what im going to do and were not used to this by the way because both parties have never operated like this. Going to do one thing and do another. Renegotiating nafta, that alone is worthy of a parade. Us nca is one of the most amazing trade accomplishments and its not talked about. Putting china on defense to getting a really good trade deal and were getting an even better trade deal if we get a second term, we will get a better trade deal with china to continue to put them on defense but its as if the Washington Cartel was fine with china getting limitlessly rich at our expense and he was the only politician with the guts to call them out and you look at the judicial victories. That alone. The gorsuch, kavanaugh, 200 Circuit Court judges, thats it but his indifference to care about what people before him dead and a great example, one of the most important fights was the fight for the unborn and i really do and you look at President Trump and 20 years ago you would have told be a guy that dont , on the cover of playboy magazine, that was a prior democrat , would be the most prolife president in American History i would have said you are nuts and yet he comes at every decision with an open mind and rationally and analytically looks at the evidence before me in his story about how he became prolife is very new. You will contemplate working and he saw this kid rise to a total superstar and for him that person would not exist if it would have been to that abortion and what does he do . Hes the first president in American History to speak at the march for life. And again, im not here to push back but they did not speak at the march for life, theydidnt. They do not kind planned parenthood funding, it went up steadily and that should open peoples eyes because its this guy is not supposed to be the socially conservative individual. But justices and again, we have questionable justices on the Supreme Court President Trump did this bizarre thing. Im going to tell you the list of people im going to nominate and he actually picked from the list. And a lot of people voted for President Trump based on that list. A lot of people because at the third branch of government that doesnt get the appreciation and Foreign Policy which i love because theres this bigotry of binary choices that happens in washington. I hope everyone in this room learns from this and applies it to your own life no matter what the situation is because here is the two consensus in washington dc. Option a, we are going to be triggerhappy and invade a lot of Different Countries in the middle east and try to nation build and impose our values throughout the region. Sounded good 20 years ago when we had a balanced budget and we really believe we can bring liberty to the middle east. I think its pretty much a consensus we are not going to turnlibya into louisiana anytime soon. And the consensus was going to spend more of our prized possessions into this region of sand and death as President Trump called it and spent hundreds of billions of dollars to try to democratize the region that is not ready for it. President trump upended that immediately and said wait a second, i dont like that, at essentially the neoconservative adventurous foreignpolicy doctrine. The Second School of thought is the exact opposite and equally as bad which is going to pick the worst regimes in the region, send them billions of dollars of cash in the middle of the night, bow down to them, validate them and send them well wishes onward towards a nuclear weapon. At the other side of the extreme so President Trump said that silly so heres what we do. Targeted, tactical and agile strikes against americas enemy with disproportionate deterrent response number one, but number two were not going to have the endless bridge building war industry in afghanistan and in the region that puts our most prized possession, our young people where we have ptsd issues. You have veteran suicide issues. We have assimilation issues of our veterans back into society but enough. He said were here to win wars, not try to democratize a region. We know it better to our veterans than to put them into a multidecade conflict and insight with victory not weld President Trump do mark he says im going to end these wars and suleimani, im going to take you out with a drone strike zero americans died. Albaghdadi, dead. Isys was on the rise and the destruction of isis is one of the most amazing accomplishments and he did it with minimal lies , minimal loss to American Life but liberating the general to go after americas enemies on the ground which is incredible. And in the war in afghanistan and we will see how that brokers out but i think we all agree that 20 years, it fatigued the american spirit to the endlessly occupying a country that does not want western values, that is not accepting western values. When we spend 5 billion a year just to the Afghan Security forces and we have hundreds of thousands of kids that cant read i think our priorities are a little bit backwards and President Trump recognizes that and wants to reset our priorities throughout america. I want to get the questions so i wrote this with a sense of urgency because i dont know if President Trump is going to get reelected. I think he should win in a landslide based on his successes but one thing iwant all of you to dismiss from your vocabulary and i say this as tough love. Hes not going to win in a landslide. Its not going to be easy and i hear thiseverywhere i go and even some people in this room. Its closer than you think. Ive been to 44 states in the last year. I talked to a lot of people on the ground. There is a Misinformation Campaign against this president. Theres a lot of work left to do and i go to party after party where people think its already in the bag and theyre planning the transition to his second term and i say okay president hillary clinton, okay president mitt romney, humble yourself and lets get to work because this thing is not over and i hear this a lot. Theres a way, folks. If google wants him to lose you going to lose. Voter fraud. My goodness, what goes on in this state alone is going to be the blueprint for the rest of the country and their sending their most, the mischief that goes on in orange county, theyre teaching them in milwaukee to do that same thing in the battlegroundstate. The ballot harvesting, vote by mail, not to mention the media is going to be against him, not to mention i believe the democrats are going to try to encourage and coach bad economic climate so they can defeat donald trump. Bill marsh said it as much, hes hoping for a recession so i know he should win in a 1972 Richard Nixon style landslide and a 1984 Ronald Reagan landslide, he should. Its not going to happen. Whether hes going to win electorally in a majority way, i dont know. That remains to be seen but they are not going to be taken by surprise this time. Bloomberg is going to spend whatever hes going to spend. The Tech Companies are going to do whatever theyregoing to do so i want to see and eight animated and engaged and worried conservative base. Not a confident conservative base, you can be quietly certain what trump has done but you should be worried because they are working their tails off and i see it every day and thats the sense of urgency i hope you all leavewith because the year from today he could not bepresident. I want you to realize that. Its conceivable and in fact i give it a 5050 split right now. 5050, coin flip that you could be here gathering and it could be president joe biden. I see a lot of people laughing but it could happen. And thats why we need to operate with a sense of urgency that i highly implore with all of you so i want to get the questions and until we build the book book signing, im honored to be here. [applause] thank you charlie, we do have time for a couple of questions. Our first one is going tocome from one of our cadets that presented the colors, thank you for your presentation earlier. [applause] and what is your question . Good afternoon, my name is ashley you, im a highschooler from troy high school. As highschooler we dont have a lot of exposure or experience in politics so how do you suggest that we can maintain an educated and more involved in politics . Thank you for the question and if you pursue a career in service you deserve to be commended so thank you for being here today, i really commend you read theres tremendous resources out there. I know Dennis Prager is going to be here tomorrow, he is a great resource and i recommend what were doing at turning point usa through our digital productions, i think its helpful but be curious, be hungry. Read the other side. It is true in high school if not always taught the way we might want it to be taught but i would pursue, i would encourage you to take five minutes to try to carve out for politics. Thats reading the news, make sure you read the right form of news. Thats all ill say with that but just be curious, be openminded. Passion is what will drive you and your patriotism should inform your politics, never forget that. Thank you for being here,we deeply appreciate it. [applause] one question i have an old people went to college when i did. On College Campuses used to have to bait. What are you seeing in College Campuses . This is my day job so i wrote this book as a singular project but we have a machine at turning point usa, 160 fulltime staff on College Campuses across the country working hard. I think im the only conservative to speak at uc berkeley standard stanford and lived till to tell about it but ive spoken all across the country. To be perfectly honest the greatest threat to our country is whats happening on College Campuses and we as conservatives need to recognize that and its less about reform and more about rebellion to be honest. These are multibilliondollar cartels that dont care about the students going through their halls, that are not interested in teaching students for american values. A couple thoughts on this, or highschoolers out there, just ask yourself the question why am i going to school, not where am i going to school. You do not know need to go to fouryear colleges can succeed. We need more plumbers, electricians, police officers, firefighters, veterans and entrepreneurs and in my opinion far left people that go to the elite schools across the country that prognosticate and tell us about how horrible and awful america is, theres a massive multibilliondollar window for people that are trained in the skills for americanbased trained labor and that deficit needs to be filled i think my highschoolers. Parents far too often push their kids into college and im going to be a hard truth, unfortunately more times than not its about the parents ego, not the kids future. If youas a parent are not prepared to look at your friend , Family Member or your neighbor and look them in the eye and say my kid is not going to college and im okay with it, its more about your ego and your kids future and i say that with love and compassion for your kids future because you see that at the university of Southern California admissions scandal. In what world is it okay to fabricate that your kid was not involved in any sport, were talking a milliondollar industry where parents were fabricating records and doing immoral and illegal things for their kid to go to usc. I dont mean this as a way to insult anyone that this might have what i see the parents where they say my kid is an honor roll student and i say i would beembarrassed if my parents had a sticker. How about my kid is a good person . It doesnt resonate with me. This hyper fixation on who can climb the academic ladder the quickest. Its important if you want to do certain things and i hope Everyone Wants to go to the highest level but i care about your character and your work ethic and what degreeyou got from some cultural institution. [applause] mister kirk, i want to thank you for being here and i feel like youre an ambassador for common sense and probably biblical prophecy to and congratulations on your book. My question is as a Small Businessman, i think one of the biggest shams that we face especially in california is that theres all these great ideas but they come with a cost and that cost to businesses and to the general public is, actually its probably considered immorally concealed so speak about that and what it does to the economy and businessmen. Look, entrepreneurs and Small Business people are the backbone of the American Economy and we should be proindividual, proentrepreneur and california is a perfect test case of how to destroy the american entrepreneur is protecting the corporate status quo but its not empowering little guy so as youll see tons of people at sacramento or washington dc think we need more regulation for all these reasons. Its a rounding error for them, they can afford more lawyers and more lobbyists and more regulatory compliance. The small guy with eight employees that put them out of business and it protects the incumbents more than anything else. What i think President Trump has done so well is weve seen a rapid increase in Small Business startups around the country and i think that sort of bottomup enterprise model is something that we need to get back to in our country, not just the protection of the corporate status quo. Additionally, there is a huge problem in our country because Small Business people cant find a divide labor that they need and part of it is training but part of it is , i talked to Small Business people all the time and they say are people that want to come work for me that they dont have the skills they got a degree in something that is essentially, they borrowed money they dont have to study things they dont that dont matter to find jobs that dont exist and theres a market out there right now and i dont know what industry youre in in particular but theres a huge market for applicable jobs and one of the big Success Stories of the Trump Presidency and i talk about this was this myth and this line that manufacturing was always going to be dead. President trump proved empirically there is a multibilliondollar manufacturing opening in our country and he filled it really well and weve seen a huge increase in manufacturing drops jobs since President Trump took office and the final point is and ill go back to the college argument and i encourage everyone in this room to take this to heart which is that we as a country treat people that go to college far more intelligent and wise and people that didnt go to college and the media propagandizing all of youthrough this and they do it through public approval pulling. You notice they say Approval Rating for College Educated people is this and nonCollege Educated people is this red what are they saying that denmark heres what the smart people think and heres what the dumb people think. If you gave me on people that didnt go to college and did, my experience was people that didnt go to college are more wise and humble and hardworking than people that did go to college but i am not anticollege, im just antithe current system. If you want to be a doctor it is for you, college should be about career preparation, not ideological expectation but youre going to play russian roulette with their valuesand then they come back someone unrecognizable. Next question juliana kulas and im a new member of the techniques of republican women so thank you for being here. I had the pleasure of reading meeting anthony colossus of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of california and it was so amazing to hear his story and i know that hes been traveling in the state working to gain the latino vote and confidence in the Republican Party and i think hes doing a great job and he needs us all to support him and also the africanamerican vote so im just wondering what youve seen on the campuses and im the proud motherinlaw of an electric lineman in sacramento so thats exciting, he is in the skilled trade, want toput a plugin for those things because its amazing thank you. Thats the question is what youve seen on campuses and how we can get the vote and the confidence and how thats been going. A couple thoughts and its important, virginia was a deep red state until they allowed out of control immigration policies into their state and thats a big problem. I will say that california, youve seen it turning the wrong direction last 20 or 30 years and heres the thing is that i do think the latino vote can be one over the life issue in particular. The very prolife community and theyve been propagandized by the left and the democrats which is really unfortunate and i see something happening in the black community, i really do and at turning point usa, Candace Owens got her start at turning point usa. Which we are very proud of her. And look, we believe theres an ideological evolution happening in our country but we need to engage and i talk about this earlier, President Trump should be a champion for School Choice. School choice is one of the most important issues in the country. Five words thatcould get President Trump reelected is School Choice for black kids, i believe that. I think School Choice is a massive issue, allowing parents to choose Educational Options and the black community has been so horribly treated by the Democrat Party over the last many decades , horribly treated. Especially since Lyndon Baines johnson and so telling the story and actually encouraging that form of policies and i talk about this in the book, President Trump accomplished the lowest ever black poverty rate, unemployment rate, criminal justice reform, millions of people many of whom are in the black community. He did far more for the black community than president obama ever did and he gets very little to no credit from the media its about reaching out, showing up and i think theres something changing where conservative republicans are more open to it than ever before but thats part of what the doctrine is which is bringing dignity back to forgotten america. There are parts of our country that were passed aside by the ruling class elite and President Trump has done a phenomenal job of turning that around so im cautiously optimistic that we can make big gains but its going to have to be generational andim telling you especially in the black community , republicans really competed and republicans went after the black church, we could see huge gains inthose communities. Thank you so much for being here. Could you let us know you have political aspirations one day . Very kind of you. No. I love what i do at turning point usa. I have the opportunity to spend time with people running for reelection of something and always going around and thats great for a lot of people. I love to empower people to do that and help them run for office but ill tell you i get so much fulfillment with what were doing at turning point usa. I can tell you that and have seen the dial moved so much and people say charlie, youve got to run for congress, number thats not in the cards for me and i think the culture war and the culture battle is far more important than that and i think that we see, thank you. We see a great opportunity happening in our country where we see a lot of people rising up and alot of new candidates that i love to support and get behind but im happy where i am. I just wanted to introduce myself first before my question. Because if you listen to the media they will tell you people like myself dont exist. By that i mean i am a christian and conservative College Professor at uci. Yes. And my question for you, an issue that i am passionate about is trying to figure out how to prevent cool shootings read i want to make our school safer im curious if you have any suggestions on that. I have my own ideas and i would love to talkabout them but im curious. The whole discussion comes down to if you are a School Shooter would you go to a school that have armed guards or didnt have armed guard and this whole argument that we shouldnt arm our most prized possession in the country. We guard our sporting events, are airports with armed guards and with machine guns yet we dont protect our kids that way and its silly and backwards to me. Its a much deeper cultural issue than that. If you look at the parkland shooting there was a missed diagnosis and a failure at the federal bureau of investigation when it came to investigating that lunatic that did that and the agenda is to take our guns away and we cant make that happen, we need to do everything to prevent the left from coming after our constitutional liberties but i think we have an overmedication problem with our kids. I think the pharmaceutical companies have way too much power and where paul hill pushing to our kids and overmedicating our kids and its causing all sorts of different problems and were talking about addictive substances that are playing games with a lot of these kids and be careful. Just to give youan example if i would be in school today they would have me so drugged up. I was on the verge of that and they tried to give me everything because im a little bit type a and was always pushing the boundaries and my parents to their great credit always pushed against it. Said hes fine but i worry about how many people that could really change our country are now being fed these cocktail of drugs under this, hes restless. Hes eightyears old, what do you expect . And i think they are correlated to school shootings, i really believe that and i get a lot of garbage for that in response but i dont care. Its true and also its a family issue that we have destroyed the Nuclear Family in our country and we have to rebuild the american family. We really do. [applause] id like to wrap it up with a q a. We get quite a few authors that come through here and the cover of your book is one thats interesting to me, could you give us background . Im signing books after and if you want to get all your Christmas Shopping done, the New York Times list cuts off tonight, not last night so go to amazon and help us make the New York Times list and it would be appreciated and i want to say a couple thanks before i mention that, i want to thank Stacy Sheridan at turning point usa and my girlfriend erica who travels the country with me. [applause] and all the people that support turning point, lee and erin, jeff i see out there somewhere and so many others, Rick Albrecht who is terrific and i love that. Socialism kills, do something about it. I picked the cover of this book for a reason. I wanted to find a visual image of the president that sums up his doctrine and he treats our country as if its a child, something he cares so much about that hes willing to sacrifice everything for. I was here when he did this last year at cpac where he hugs the flag and thats the protective instinct he has for ourcountry that every decision he makes is around trying to say i care about this, im willing to sacrifice for this. Im going to put it all on the line for this so they say a picture speaks 1000 words and i think it does in that sense and thebook articulates that prettywell. Ladies and gentlemen charlie kirk. [applause] joining us on book tv is bradley graham. He is coowner of politics and prose bookstores in
