First of all, i do have just havent gotten any Immediate Reaction from anyone in the senate to the New York Times story on President Trump . I think were seeing a lot of democrats coming out and talking about it insane this explains why President Trump hit his taxes from the emergent people which is something that president know since Richard Nixon had been laying out before the people here are my taxes and i pay taxes and they like to brag about how much taxes they have paid but they can say they are hiding things. Now give a democrat saying look, this guy paid 750 in taxes in 2016 and 2017 and said he would come and poke picked the system and they say look, this guy has actually cut taxes for other people in that 2017 tax bill. I think this is something that they can try to run on but whether it will really change anybodys mindhe is doubtful at this point because there have been reporting that there has been a number of years working where he not pay taxes and responded that that made him a good businessman. I dont think its necessarily hurting him with his base but something the democrats can talk about and trying to get more of his financial records and say whether they also want to dig into whether or not they been trying to get his other Business Records to see ifto there is any discrepancy between what he was telling the banks and telling the irs. Once again this might be the story, if you will talking about today but there are other news going on, especially with his Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett. What is going onam on the hill today for Amy Coney Barrett . Yeah, senate comes back tomorrow and the rest of the week and you will see i think a lot of senators will meet with Amy Coney Barrett particularly on the republican sidee like Chuck Schumer saying they will not do that and they dont believe this is a legitimate time to b having Supreme Court hearings and this is the closest to election that thereem has evr been an attempt to replace the subbing guard justice and a lot of that is due to the timing of Justice Ginsburg death o with ls than two months before an election and the republicans judiciary chairman Lindsay Graham has set up a very aggressive schedule with hearings starting october 12 and wants that nomination through his committee by october 26 which sets up a vote on the senate floor the week before the election. The democrats could try to do some attempts to delay things hours or days but dick durbin said over the weekend theres nothing they can do to completely stop it. Ot there are other things democrats want to talk about. Particularly on this case i think they are focusing on the Affordable Care act and on november 10 the Supreme Court hears that case that the trump backed lawsuit that could potentially overturn the Affordable Care act depending on what the five justices decide. That is what they been running on even before this nomination and they are doubling down on that and think the Affordable Care act is a lot more popular than it used to be. They think it help them when the Health Majority in 2018 and they hope it helps them when the Senate Majority this year. Well have to see how that turns out spee9 if democrats dont have the vote to stop Amy Coney Barrett then what is the advantage to them even delaying itwh past the election or into a lane . What is the advantage of delaying if they cant stop . Guest i think their decide is upset and motivated by the potential for Amy Coney Barrett to overturn roe v wade in the Affordable Care act. Their folks want to see them fighting and there are demonstrations outside the Supreme Court that will be there everyday more than three and a Million Dollars has flowed into Democratic Political campaigns in the past week with a record number. They are energized and want to rg democratsnate buying beans and you could see some things like forcing votes on the senate floor and when he watched cspan you see these quorum calls and no one shows up for the quorum call the democrats could start demanding 51 senators show up to save they have a quorum. Does that delay things . Ultimately it doesnt end 51 senators really want to confirm her they can do that almost at any time by just bringing her to the floor. But i do thinky republicans wat to have these hearings and want to show Amy Coney Barrett with her seven children and they want to show that she is an accomplished judge. The democrats, of course, will showow up at those hearings even though a lot of them might not meet with her e in advance but they will try to pick apart her judicial philosophy and tried to get across to their voters and to swing voters that she is a threat to the Affordable Care act in particular and also other issues that folks care about like the d aca case a few months ago and they are trying to win over hispanic voters with states like arizona. This will be really interesting. Weve never had these Supreme Court hearings right before an election and you have several of the endangered central begins who are on that judiciary committee.
