Giving you a front row seat to democracy. Virginia governor took part in a discussion with the president of the Economic Club of washington d. C. David rubin site they discussed virginia tourism, the Commonwealth Education goals and the debate over confederate monument. When asked about his political future Governor Glenn Youngkin would not answer to be entering the 2024 president ial race. [background noises] can have your attention please. I said earlier our special guest is a 74th governor of the commonwealth of virginia Glenn Youngkin. Thank you so much for coming thank you. Its fun to be with you. Before we get started first about such a privilege to be here. I just want to say to everybody, if anybody in this room has eight mid life crisis, run for office its awesome, it is awesome. Okay, anybody thinking of running . Which by the time were dead will get one convert here. To solve eight mid life crisis but office should one run for . List governor virginia is a ditto like i cannot run again. What about another job . Works there might be other ones. The governor of virginia cannot run for reelection consecutively correct question or. That is correct. Its restricted to one for your term election change the constitution proximate the next governor worry about that. Thats a great opportunity to be in a hurry. I have a clock behind my desk for the day i was inaugurated i said felt so help me god what to got work. A fedex package showed up. I tore it open on a saturday and in it was a clock. Theres a note from jeb bush inside said governor, get moving time is a taking. I put that clock by my desk every day i look at it and i know how many days we have left a big. Okay so how many days if he had so far . Were about 868 left. Oh well. That give people an introduction to you for a minute if i could. Then we will go through it. Glenn is born in richmond and grew up in it nor folk Virginia Beach. H. Went to high school there nor folk academy. Was a physical coach gate to play at duke or be on the duca team. Maybe not to play. [laughter] yes maybe not the play. [laughter] as i recall you were told theres a really good guy named danny coming and hes going to be the guy you play against and practices that right . Maybe i get to carry shoes. So glenda sent not to go to de he went to rice he became cocaptain of the basketball fteam. And didnt play that much either projects did not play that much there but met my wife so its worth it for. Him hes not married for 30 years almost. Okay. Then he went to Harvard Business school and graduate as a baker scholar which means top 5 of his class in between college at rice he got 2 degrees. He worked at first in boston in houston then went to Harvard Business school baker scholar went to mckenzie in washington d. C. And after year there was recruited to work and was there for 25 years froze up to be our coat ceo. Prior to that it was our president and chief operating officer. And at that time i remember telling glenn he had no chance of going into politics and getting elected Something Like that progressive not sure i ever asked. [laughter] oh okay. Glenn has four children his wife is suzannes someone you met in college request that matter right after school in houston Georgia Southern methodist in dallas. And we met through a mutual friend. She really did not have anything to do with me she didnt know it through this crazy virginian who would believe today shes the first lady of the commonwealth of virginia . Okay shes happy she made that decision, right . I hope so. I not ask you something related to the presidency, we will get to that. [laughter] are you happy as governor of virginia do you enjoy the call more than the calling of higher equity. [laughter] yes pinos going to break your heart but thew short answer is yes. It is amazing. I went into this because i was worried about virginia. I was frustrated with where the Republican Party was in virginia. And i wasnt really good shape. Remember when i called you on saturday to tell you i was resigning i said david this is Glenn Youngkin use and where you called me . You are quitting . And said yeah what you gonna do . Im gonnaun run for office is crazy might call your wife are r can call you back together and talk you out of this nonsense. What we found was this is one of the moments werent being an outsider was w amazing. I brought a different perspective to it. We are hired by virginians and ute virginians, thank you for hiring me. We went to work right away. All of the things we learned in business are fully transferable into government you just have to work about it. Lets talk about the campaign. During the campaign you have these vests you said it was your signature was it ons purpose you had them left over and were wearing them . [laughter] a got a little cold during the fall. I dont like jackets and iik hae sweaters. So i started wearing a vest. Iat that i will wear a red one since i am a republican. I started showing up at Campaign Things and everyone else started wearing a vest i thought maybe we stumbled onto something, read it best then you saw people on the country starting to wear red vest if you have stock in a company that makes red vest its a good thing. When he started to get the publican nomination which is done at a convention not at a primary. Did you really think and outside of the private equity background could really win . I would not have done otherwise. I was an uphill battle. Our first poll came out we did internally before we launched. Ie think 2 name id and had a 3 margin of error. [laughter] i was trying to explain to my wife it was a good thing because there was a real upside. She got the nomination then had toto run against a former goverr who you did not know him at the time for. I did not really know terry. Trixie had invested over the years which may be appointed at one point or something in the campaign for. Summit might have pointed it out. Maybe he thought it could be a good governor. Wanted to think that a good chance of winning . Was it the night of the election or as youre going forth you had a chance of beating a former Virginia Governor . Is a basic truth to a campaign which is the job is to get more votes than the other guy. Else we had a real chance if we could do three things. One is lose Northern Virginia less bet we have lost by a lot. Second about women Hampton Roads which is where im from. And then have really strong turn in the traditional publican counties and that was our strategy. And it worked. Not just because it was a good strategy but it works because of the time the issues that were on everybodys mind taxes and economics growth because of what was going on coming out of the pandemic and jobs being shut out because virginia was shut. Education the challenge parents were seeing an Education System and Public Safety it was a real challenge. Virginia was at a 20 or high inverter rates. These basic Kitchen Table issues spread across the commonwealth is the most important issues not republicans versus democrats but for virginians. I do feel like we found ourselves in a moment in time for things i believe deeply in, economic growth, Public Safety and excellence in education making government work better really resonated. During the campaign theres a debate you had some people tell you what if the debate because she wanted parents involved in the education process. He did not want parents involved. Was at a position he had thought through before it was that what really made the difference that one statement . We had identified very early on that education was going to be the primary issue in the election in addition to jobs and economic recovery. And as i travel on the only commonwealth i kept hearing over and over and over again forri parents that we feel pushed out of our childrens lives in the school s system. So we had launched our parents t Matters Initiative long before the debate. Mcand then when mccall basically admitted what he firmly believes his political philosophy that affects children should not ass parents should not be deciding what should be taught in schools was a real moment of difference between what i was speaking about and what het believed. Again it was not republicans versus democrats moment but was a parents moment. That had a lot of tail wind. Suppose you hadnt went what would you be doing today where would you be in private equity in her own firm . What would you be doing . Nlexa didnt have a plan b i really didnt we were going hard. Me get elected who called you did famous people call you to tell you they knew youre going to win all along they were supporting it secretly . As a thank you, the day after i think. [laughter] a lot of people more famous than me certainly call you thought you had a good chance of winning along or what . Works we had great support are what we were doing. There is a real uphill battle. Virginia had become very much controlled by the democrat party. The attorney general was held by democrats both senators seven out of 11 congressional art democrats. Art democrats. A thousand cents. Republican someone was real uphill battle. Down the stretch people start to see momentum came our way. Is really encouraging. We are for you it can help you get it down too. To pick a cabin that you did not have contacts you had known for many, many years how did you pick your cabinet you ask search firms . How did you get the cabinet together. Rooted execs and then we did at carlisle. I had search firms, we wrote job descriptions sent them out on a national. I got heat it was late in the cabinet building or the transition process. We had not named a lot of folks yet were waiting for the right people. The very first person i nominated to the cabinet was a new position chief transformation officer because we had one in every business in Carlisle Park its a funny story called a friend of mine said im looking for chief transmission officer to help he said the very best person is the guy the chief transformation officer at mckinsey but theres no we ever get him out his lifes goodies live in a small town in virginia called richmond. Ir [laughter] eric miller became our chief transformation officer. And was our first cabinet nominee. Okay. What about your staff it but where did you get them where they Campaign People with virginia government experience or your staff . All the above. Without focusus a bit in busines many of you had worked with Steve Cummings who ran hollowell and rent ubs. He is virginia secretary of finance. When i called him the first times the glen i dont know anything about government and i dont live in virginia i said perfect, move here. He did and he has been awesome for it secretary of education can for minnesota. Yet we are still able to recuse recruit from virginia. Secretary of the commonwealth is okay she just stepped down after first 20 months approach you promised me she was safe foror your to half she stayed for 20 months. We had great people come to the administration regards are you enjoying the job is much as you appear to be enjoying it . Progress europas private equity . No not at all. [laughter] so today what would you say youre most proud of having achieved near 20 months or so . David there are two things. First is that when we started in this tremendous privilege to go to work every day for 8. 7 Million People and i have to say i hear from a lot of them every day. [laughter] ewe saw virginia was really challenge your bottom third in job growth. E twenty or high at murder rates are at your quotient scores have dropped. More virginians were moving away to other stateser they were movg to virginia for nine years straight we were a net exporter of o families. One spent most encouraging is all the things we knoww in business actually can work in government. So we lowered taxes we streamlined regulation of businesses, and create jobs per day about 28 month period is third in the nation job growth. We reestablish High Expectations and schools we Just Launched hugely important intensive tutoring program across entire commonwealth bargain make sure our kids can read and do math. We hired a lot of foursomes we have increase in salaries and rages and i was in new york last monday and im walking down the street a guy on the north Police Department comes up to me and he says are you Governor Glenn Youngkin i said yes i just put in my application to come work iain the Virginia State police m coming, im coming. We can move the needle quickly. In 20 months ive watched it i n quickly the ultimate task is where are people choosing to live . I know all of your review data like d i do its important data set to read. But in 2021 virginia was 31st and the nationwide white uhaul trips. One year later we are fifth in the nation ortho florida, texas, recommended thomas al qaeda when i will seeee very ahead of governor in tennessee. I told him so brightly can in fact move the needle quickly i am incredibly incredibly proud of the work wevedi done. Lets talk about the things related to race that has been a big issue in virginia for many, many years obviously. When there is a confederate monumentnt what is your decision what ive been doing it takingin down monuments or repositioning them . Think there was one at a military academy question. Arlington cemetery. A decision on most of the monuments have been made. I think our history needs to be preserved for people to understand and see. So those monument should be on battlefields orr museums. Weve got to work on this particular monument that is in Arlington Cemetery it was christened or unveiled by Woodrow Wilson as a unification bonnet president s develop through barack obama have laid wreaths there. The decision was made to move it. Until we have been working across the aisle ive had some support from her to senators as lwell in order to move this to a battlefield in virginia. So it will be part of our history so people can understand it. I think this is part of the moment we are in. Often censors a distinction drawn and politics its either this or that. And depending on where you come down is what team you are on. I think there is a y real momen. We did in fact recognize the decision was made but lets have an and at moment and put the statute someplace where historians can see it and we can understand the history of virginia. Is at road renamed Jefferson Davis highway in Northern Virginia. Its been renamed. So is that the Glenn Youngkin highway . No. The process is one that has been very challenging for people. Thats when i first came in and i said folks i ones to redo our history standards in virginia. Because our history standards should be the best in the nation for i know folks may be from maryland or from massachusetts or from pennsylvania on think those states had a major role in forming our country but it really started in virginia. Thats a joke. [laughter] the reality of course is we have to teach all of our history. The good and the bad. We can teach both age appropriately. Wewe can have a robust curriculm that introduces to all of our children. The very complex history that acknowledges the horrific history of slavery. And yet the great moments of our Civil Rights Movement so much happened in virginia. We were able to get new history isstandards of past just recenty in the spring. Think with the best history standards in the nation theyre already receiving accolades and looking forward to virginia kids anderson are complete and complex history. When he ran for governor and became governor yourn are very much against teaching of Critical Race Theory and virginiahe schools. It was not actually being taught as i understand it right where we so upset about it if it wasnt being taught . David dont fall for that trick. Its not a class its actually a philosophy of teaching. And unfortunately it was embedded in our schoolde system. We had privilege of bingo and fairfax county. We in fact had professional Development Classes where they were teaching faculty and administrators the difference between privileged class at a press class. The reality is we should not teach our children to judge one another. We should not teach our children they are responsible for the sins of the past. We should teach our children hard work is a boy that should be respected and encourage. We can do all this and teach very complex history. We do not have to have war moments but we need to make sure our School System is fully respecting the individuality of our students and parents engagement in their childs education. We have made huge progress but imro very pleased theres stila lot of work to do. Again this is an and moment nota in or moment. Quick some people say it may have come for a privileged background. Your father went to Duke University or he was the rebound champion preimmigration. It was a famous basketball player a graduate of duke. Did you grow up in a privileged environment . I grew up in a normal home. Ia american as you said i was born in richmond. My mom was a nurse and my dad was a bookkeeping accountant type. When i was in seventh grade my dad lost his job it happens in families my mom did what so many moms do. My mom was my hair she grabbed his ear and grabbed our family said restarting oliver again wait move down to Virginia Beach t and that is whe we started again. It was such a moment in my life to learn basic truths one, hard work matters i got a job taking out trash and washing dishes at a diner down at the beach. I got promoted became the breakfast cook at the 6 00 a. M. Wakeup moment for the designer. I spent a lot of time there working with a great boss who taught me too work hard. There is a moment when we have to step back and recognize theres some basic values that i think are important for us to try to pass on. What is that there is dignity and work and working hard its a good thing. Its a very important part of your life has been your christian faith. Did you come to that isf a bornagain evangelical person . Or were you taught that froman e early years as a boy . How did you come to this question. I did not grow up in a faith filled home at all. Suzanne didnt grow up at eight faith filled home but when asked suzanne to marry me she said yes but i need you to recognize our collective faith has to be the center of our marriage. And of course i did not really fully understand what she was talking about but i wanted to married. So i said sure. So she put me on a path where i really had a chance to fully understand the christian faith. It did change my life in such an extraordinary way. And it still is at the heart of everything we do but david i woke up every morning i have eight moment a quiet time i start to start in prayer. This is an amazing privilege to go to work everyday so i first thanked the lord for putting me here. And then i ask him for help because theres a lot of topics we deal with that are well beyond my understanding and i ask for help and we got working on a thing were doing a really good job. A lot of people have that kind of faith but they didnt build their own church i didnt know this at the time but you built your own church white want the other churches good enough that were around. [laughter] let me start it was not my church it was a church that we started. Many friends that wanted to go to church but did not have a church to go too. We just started in our basement one sunday. The next thing you know there were 50 people in the basement then we started moving to other peoples a basements next over 0 people. So we thought we better get a building next thing you know theres a church and that has been going since 2010 if anybody wants to go on the corner of bolles hill road in 495 progress your children very often childrens parents say they want to run for office when you told your children your running for governor why did they say . First of all our kids, suzanne and me are such a blessing. We do everything we can to protect them. This is a tough thing for kids but our snow 26, 23, 22, and 19. And even when we started this now three years ago this is a real disruptive thing in their life. They are wonderful children supportive but we do everything we can to let them live their life and do their thing. We pray for them every day and so far so good. You have said one of your areas of focus is to turn the Virginia Legislature into a fully Republican Legislature majority control. The house is now controlled by the republicans the senate is controlled by the democrats. What is the chance in your view jeff to pick up five seats or so . To backup. In 2021 we were able to win the statewide offices. For those of you who do not know jason was our attorney general. Is the first hispanic american elected to a statewide office when sears was elected as our Lieutenant Governor shes the first black woman and immigrant to office. Their sterner teammates we are able to flip our house. Vows was 45 55 against republicans we came out the 52 48 majority. The senate was not up in 2021. Winston out the entire house and senate 2218 democratcontrolled majority. I think this is a great chance of our record on the table with great candidates and ask for virginians to elect a majority Republican Senate so we can move even faster for. What you want to get done that you cant get done now . Most of the time if i want to get something done the Senate Senate thatis controlled by demd to block us on it. Thats a purely politics in many cents and yet we were able to get a fair amount done would have a few senators who had come with us but interestingly in their primaries everybody who worked with us in ady constructe wayiv either retired or got votd out. So we find ourselves in a real moment to progress in virginia i believe we need to win our senate. We have got great candidates we are in the middle of early voting for those of you from virginia who havent voted, go votes. We are asking people to vote early get their vote counted. This is an exciting time. I am eager to put our record of achievements in front of voters. We have grown jobs. We have worked hard to raise standards in schools. We have rolled out enormously important Behavioral Health program to transform Behavioral Health across the commonwealth. Its one of the largest most important objectives that we have theres a crisis particular in our young people we worked hard to make government work better. Amazingly, all who commit a state governor met and have the same that i have do we have monthly financials to be home know how much cash we have in her Bank Accounts questioning informants event one point to billion dollars that did not need to be spent that then turn into a taxpayer relief fund. You can do this stuff. Therefore im happy to put that record for the voters. Why the issue some people say you would like to use a Republican Senate for is to have an abortion ban or limit. I think virginias only Southern State that does not have bridges legislation to restrict abortion for your position on abortion is a 15 weeks . Fifteen weeks how do you come to 15 weeks versus 19 or 12 . Do you think you can pass that on the people in virginia really want that band . Let me just back up for a moment. I was in a Conference Room in d. C. Last summer, the summer before last with the Washington Post editorial board. We were having a fun converse it was 14 on one. [laughter] but were having a Great Exchange of views when the Supreme Court ruling cameur dow. I immediately went back to virginia i would put a press release out. The press release was really clear. Which is i would like for virginians to come together around a bill to protect life when a baby can feel pain at 15 weeks. This is what i have asked our legislatures to work on but we did not get it done in the last legislative session. I think we can get it done. I think this is a place where virginians can come together. What the Progressive Left has been doing in our senate and across our legislature is trying to make abortion available up through and including birth. This is a tough topic for folks just three years ago thego formr governor came out that he would keep a child comfortable for you decide whether the child lives or dies. That is an extreme position and it just did not set well with virginians. I have felt we could come together around this moment to protect life at 15 weeks when a baby can feel pain and that is when scientifically it shows children can feel pain. Viability is somewhere between 15 and 22 weeks. I think this is a place we can come together. This is why im advocating with all of our candidates to support this position. They have all said yes they do im hoping virginia can lead again here. Virginia can show where the toughest issues in america that we can find a place to come together and maybe demonstrate a path forward here progress in florida think the governor supported the legislature agreed to a six week billion up to six weeks. You dont support that you were 15 is your number question requests ive been very clear i support a 15 bel this is when hoping to get past Senate Legislature will behold our house and flip our senate picklist talk but the elephant in the room. How many times a day do people ask if youre thinking of running for president . , more than one usually. And it is humbling. You can only imagine is a set i grew up in a normal house that had ups and downs and moments, my father lost his job twice will i was growing up. To come work at carlisle and have a chance to do that was something i could never imagine growing up. To have people throw my name around is someone who would potentially vied for the most revered and respected office in the world is usually humbling. I have had my focus appropriately and i think importantly on our virginia elections and thats were going to keep them. The virginia elections will be over when . [laughter] quickly started now. We have another 41 days. In our final election days on november the seventh for greg so on november the eighth it will have accomplish are not accomplished legislative changeover orgy then a focus on if you want to run for president or not . I think right now and david, you know me well its one of the reasons why your champion mia carlisle i am a very focused person. I tend to focus on objectives. My objective is to hold a housee house and flip arsenic. And i think more importantly, to the country not just virginia is to demonstrate you can bring a conservative philosophy with Commonsense Solutions and make a material difference in the direction of theti state. Virginia it was really heading in the wrong direction when i came in. We were near the w bottom and jb growth we are falling behind in so many categories. I think its important for folks to see we can change this. We can do itit in a way i think consistent with what suzanne made me promise when i asked my lovely wife on friday night before i called you on saturday to resign to support me in quitting my job and running for governor, once she stopped crying, she looked at me and said i am so for us doing this together but we have to commit to do it in a way that will represent our values and people will be proud to support us. This is as equally important we can in fact make such huge progress with commonsense conservative leadership and policies. We can do it in a way i hope makes people proud. Im not perfect and i make my mistakes my wife pointed out routinely to me. It is preserved donald trump will be the nominee of the party today. Feet were the nominee andhe cald susan glenn, would you like to be Vice President with me you would say . The first thing i would tell you i also often dream about being an nba basketball star great. I would also think about that as well. There are great hypothetical in this world my job is to be the best governor i could be i have never ever gotten a promotion without doing a good job and the one i am in progressive government donald trump . Have never met him in person progress really . No i havent. Berkshire called muppets i want to meet you have done that yet . Okay. Lets suppose donald trump says i do not want to be a nominee rand he has some legal problems that come out. [laughter] would you thenr] consider maybe running or youre not sure yet . Asked david he has such great insight into this do you think htthat something is going to happen . I think in politics you can never predict what is going to happen. I would say you always need to be prepared. So you never know. But you are always well prepared but we will see. Theres a lot of people calling eoyou around the world think gln you should come in the Republican Party is not so wonderful when they tell you this what you tell them . The first thing i do is say thank you for believing in what we are doing in virginia. It is really exciting to see their folks not just in virginia but outside virginia both here in the United States and some around the world who are really excited about what were doing for thats the first thing to talkir about. And then usually i say that is so great that you are supporting us would you help us when races virginia . Im not going to pin you down on that obviously. What say you serve out your term. Not for lack of trying. [laughter] works to serve out your term theres note senate seats up that i know of the year you are available. What would you do if youre not in the cabinet, youre not Vice President youre not present would you consider staying in politics the route returned to private equity or dont know yet . Was i dont know yet. I am very excited about the fact we are positioned to make even more progress. Our cabinet always makes fun of me. As soon as we reach any kind of milestone i double the goal andn half the time. So i think we can really accelerate in virginia thats what hoping to do. At the end of the day i think we can, over the course of the next two years with the house and with the senate that will work with us in a constructive way i think we can do Amazing Things for. Virginia has a primary system for president ial . So we expect to endorse anybody question that primary system if you are not a candidate or do goes on to the convention . I do not expect to endorse anyone. Think voters should choose this. I am sure will be a well participated primary. One of the great things that has happened since our election in 2021 we had record turnout and the governors race. We continue to have really strong Voter Engagement across the commonwealth. I think that is so healthy. Its one of the reasons i fully embrace early voting. We can just remind everybody your child could get sick or you could get sick or something could happen at work or there could be a storm blows through. You may miss voting. We have 45 days to vote in virginia this is such a great representation of engagement for people to vote. You have been governor since joe biden has been president. You have said he thought he was legitimately elected more or less . I did. Have you met him has he ever said come on by for coffee lets talk about virginia issues or he doesnt do that . Lexi hasnt done that bray did come to virginia two weeks ago and claimed the virginia slated elections are so important he personally was going to get engaged in trying to have canister feet our agenda. I think that again points to how important the races are this year. Let me just be clear i do think joe biden has not done a good job as president but i think our economy has really suffered. Even when Larry Summers the unbridled spending is going to drive inflation. And every family in America Today is really struggling. Y 60 of americans live paycheck to paycheck. The average family today has to dspend 700 more just to buy gas and groceries on closer for their kids than they did two years ago. We are seeing on the National Stage in america it really has suffered internationally. I am personally really worried about our relationship with china. I think we have shown weakness. The reason why we have a war in ukraine is fundamentally driven by exhibited weakness on behalf of joe biden progress to support the efforts to support ukraine that biden has done so far . I support the u. S. Engagement in ukraine. I dont think we would have this problem with joe biden have been stronger upfront. But now we are there its critical putin doesnt win. We need to rally europe to make sure we are supporting this ultimate victory. Vladimir putin is a really bad guy. We know that. What he is doing is an affront to every democratic fiber and my body and we got to win this bid quits her summer focus on how side who appeared to have the view we should pull out or reduce our support on donald trump is more or less said he would eliminate probably our support for ukraine if he were elected thats a position you dont support . I think the big challenges that are being highlighted there has not been good oversight on where the money has gone and second of all wheat must have europe fully engaged in this effort which has a global implications. But most importantly europe is most at risk. There are ways i think we should have done this much better. But we must continue to support right now. Where are you on the age issue . I dont think youre too old david, i dont speak to not old enough time people are 77 the key thing is they can do the job. From very early every single day. Or 56 . I struggle to understand how jod biden does what he does it. I think he is challenged by it. And he demonstrates it every day. When you have ae president who s struggling to keep up with the schedule, it shows. America should be leading the nation and the world in so many aspects. We have to project a strength on the global stage. We have to give comfort that we have things under control in our economy. We need to make sure were being strong on key issues like our border which we need to secure because every state is a border state. They are unbelievably challenging issues that need to be solved. They are complicated, they require complicated solutions. And i think when you have a president who does not project the ability to do all of that it really weakens america. Why not run for president yourself and fix that problem. [laughter] and david are getting even more creative projects are at your not going to giveti an ansr here okay. You dont think the economic in washington is your place to announce canister president for. First by loving at the Economic Club in washington. When i was at carlisle and my friends who are here who worked with me at carlisle we had the great privilege of being a part of this group. And participating in what youvu built so thank you. And brings a group of people together who really care about washington d. C. And Northern Virginia and southern maryland. So thank youso all for participating in this. It is such an important moment for us to recognize that when we Work Together and we have a common goal we can accomplish great things for. Recently the Football Team and the washington area, the commanders comment was bought by a group where the two principal owners and mark is one of the owners as well. Its thoughts are likely to build a new stadium. The current stadium is in maryland. They have a chance of maybe going to rfk or that sites. What about virginia . Would virginia provide incentives are you interested in building a football stayed in there for them . I have frequently reminded everyone that virginia will be the best place to live and work and raise a family. I also think its a great place to have a professional Football Team. My job as governor is to represent taxpayers. If we can represent taxpayers well that is eight negotiation i look forward to having progress you might consider it . I have been very clear i would like to engage in offer an opportunity for the t commanders to come to virginia. But my job as governor is to make sure you do a good deal thats most important thing progress used to be said virginia is for lovers that used to be where the bumper stickers ywere that come from . Is ranked as one of the most iconic statements in america.
