ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Right now, the United States does not require travelers from the United Kingdom to take a COVID test before boarding the plane, but Governor Cuomo wants that to change.
In a COVID conference call Sunday, Cuomo said a new virus variant discovered in the U.K. has led to at least 120 countries either banning travelers or requiring they get tested before traveling, and he'd like to see something done in the U.S.
On Monday Governor Cuomo announced that British Airways, Delta Airlines and Virgin Atlantic have added New York State to its list of locations where onboarding tests are required for passengers.
