Delaware's Doctrine of Independent Legal Significance and California

In Orzeck v. Englehart, the Delaware Supreme Court adopted a bedrock doctrine - the Doctrine of Independent Legal Significance. Despite the doctrine's bedrock status in Delaware, I have been unable to find a single opinion of a California court that adopts this doctrine.
