of a sudden i just saw people fleeing the scene. as i was crossing the street, a woman actually fell at my feet. i tried to help her up, but i was nervous that the gunman was going to keep shooting, so i kind of ducked behind one of the planters on the street. when i thought it was safe, i got up and tried to prop her head up, but everyone just fled from the area. then the cops came, actually, right away, and the ambulances were there right, like, within minutes. >> reporter: did you hear the shooter say anything? >> no, i did not. you could just hear the gunshots. they were almost very muffled, i wasn't sure that's what it was at first, but then i saw people falling, and i assumed it was a shooting. >> reporter: we're glad you're well. thank you for talking with us. i know you're a little shaken up, but we appreciate you letting us know what you saw just a short time ago. one of the things worth noting, this could have been a great deal worse. the police commissioner revealed just a short time ago that the shooter had in his possession a
