The first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine will be arriving in Midland on Wednesday.
Millie Jezior, MidMichigan Health public relations manager, said the hospital will be receiving the vaccine by Wednesday morning.
"While we anticipated to receive 975 doses, we were pleasantly surprised to learn late (Thursday) from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services that we are now receiving 2,925 doses," Jezior said.
MidMichigan Health will be performing dry runs Wednesday afternoon in Midland and Alpena. During that time, those on the vaccination team will receive the vaccine, Jezior said. That includes employees from quality, infection prevention, employee health and pharmacy, as well as a few physicians. This accounts for about 20 people in Midland and 10 in Alpena.
