Enfield council appoints Cressotti as its newest member

ENFIELD — The Town Council on Monday night appointed Democrat Robert “Bob” Cressotti to join its ranks, filling an at-large seat left vacant by the departure of Bill Kiner.
While Republican Councilwoman Kelly Hemmeler abstained from the vote, the rest of the council of seven Republicans and two Democrats approved Cressotti’s appointment during the meeting, which was held via videoconference.
COUNCIL APPOINTMENT
WHO: Robert “Bob” Cressotti, a Democrat, was appointed to the Enfield Town Council on Monday.
WHY: Councilman Bill Kiner, a Democrat who held an at-large seat on the panel, decided to resign.
THE TERM: Cressotti will fill out the remainder of Kiner’s two-year term, which expires in November 2021.
