He said details about the person’s death are still unclear.
“These types of untimely events, we want to determine most importantly, ‘What is the root cause of this?’” Mayorga said. “We determine root cause, and we want to protect everyone else and (make sure there’s) nothing contrary to our policies or the grower’s policies...We're not pointing fingers here."
FCS Ag Corp. is paying to send the person’s body home to Mexico, Mayorga said.
The incident happened one week after the death of 38-year-old nursery worker Sebastian Francisco Perez in St. Paul during the record-breaking heatwave. OSHA is also investigating that case.
