I think whats different about this selloff is that theres a very important event happening in a few days thats preventing what would normally be a lot of people buying the dip. Why are you going to try to catch the falling night at this moment when theres a massive election on tuesday and uncertainty involved around that. We have an improving economic situation. I would be a buyer on weakness, im looking a close above 3300 on s p 500 which would be a rally than we see right here. If you see a close above that i see market trending back to where we were couple days ago. Maria i think that makes a lot of sense. Investors are waiting on key Economic Data this morning, in about 2 and a half hours we will get first read of thirdquarter gdp. Expectations are calling for growth of 31 , of course, we looking at this as snapback from what we isnt that true the Second Quarter which was major contraction and we also have weekly jobless claims hitting the tape and what are your expectations and what do you see in thirdquarter gdp, michael. Micheal it was upgraded after the fantastic durable goods orders we got on tuesday. I see this economy continuing to improve. What im looking at closest this morning is continuing claims. So not just the initial jobless claims but the continuing claims. We are at just under 8. 4 million last week, down from a peak of 25 million and up from a prepandemic level just below 2 million so what im looking to see is continual improvement in the continuing claims just because i think theres a lot of noise in the initial claims with so many people filing for unemployment, not filing for unemployment. I think the state unemployment offices have lag times and its just not as accurate as data indicator that it was prepandemic because of the sheer volume whereas the continuing claims, people that are filing for unemployment week in and week out. I think thats the number that you want to be lacer focused on for your bellwether to overall employment, consensus estimates is 7. 7 million, hopefully we can bet that. The last two numbers dropped close to a million jobs in continuing claims numbers, so hopefully that continues to improve. Maria all right, what about bigtech earnings on tap tonight . That temptation to tradeoff his name is only bigger if biden wins the presidency. James the New York Post appears to have scoop of the year and the story is just getting stronger, more documents, the recordings, testimony of mr. When youre looking at the issues driving people to take a book you have to look beyond the headline of the polls and thats where youre getting a sense on the grounded and how people are feeling and the enthusiasms but also sheer number of people who are using their precious personal time to go out, knock doors for the president , knock doors for republicans and make the phone calls and get their family and friends to the polls, all of that is at a level we have never seen before further underscoring theres not only enthusiasm for the president , people believe hes the man that continues to bring the economy back. Maria yeah, jose, and then theres this big elephant in the room of the hunter biden business dealings across the world. Do you think that joe biden should make a comment about all of this and and tell us whether or not he was lining his own pockets with deals while he was Vice President influence peddling . Sure, well, he would answer the question during the debate. He said that he had nothing to do with it. The American People are not interested in knowing about bidens family issues even though they are lies and the same with trump. The voters maria they are not lies. Let me finish real quick. They dont care about their Family Business, what they care about, Political Drama that the media is trying to put together. What they care about is the economy, they care about covid19, they care about over 200,000 deaths that have happened this year because of this pandemic, they care about the science, thats what they care about. Maria do i think the economy is certainly very important to viewers and to voters, i agree with that, but lets just hypothetically say that joe biden got the 10 of joint venture in china and he was paid millions of dollars from the chinese company, is he going to be tough on china given the fact that hes just had millions of dollars and did joint venture tied to communist party, theres a question to ask whether or not his compromised . There isnt because there isnt any evidence that he took money from the chinese. Him getting into that its its not important, theres no evidence that he did that so hes not going to waste time doing that. What he will do is talk to the American People, thats why you do well in the polls and continue to make the argument that he will unite the country. Maria lets talk about fundraising records. We have new data on political spending, Campaign Spending this cycle is nearing 14 billion this election. Thats more than doubled spent in 2016 election comes as gop announcing spending 9 million on ads targeting health care in battleground stateses. Chasse, what do you think about the fundraising, is it resonating, all of the ads on both sides . Well, i would actually say in a word, no, it cant just be about the advertisements, thats got to be one prong of it and thats why you are seeing from our side, the push that we are making at the end but weve been investing more than a billion dollars over the last 4 years in communities across america and engaging all sorts of voters in every corner of the country and everywhere in between and those meaningful relationships, those voter contacts, by the way, Joe Biden Campaign only started doorknocking 2 weeks ago, they have been relying heavily on advertisement and not making meaningful engagement and thats why youre seeing low enthusiasm for joe biden, people dont hear from him, they dont see him, they dont see anybody out there supporting him. Not the same story for the republicans and the Trump Campaign who have been out there fighting for your vote and asking for your vote. We have not only seen with the president out at multiple rallies a day but reinforced by volunteers and staff that are having meaningful relationships and having conversation on the issues you care about. On november 6th as long as they are postmarked on november 3r november 3rd. Shes got the numbers. Cheryl looking at the vaccine update from moderna for covid. They were looking for a loss of 43cents a scare, we got a loss of 59. The revenue side, the loss for the company is because of the r d theyre putting in for the covid19 vaccine. The revenue came in at 157. 9 million. A lot of companies are giving them deposits. Theyre sitting on 1. 1 billion in des pos of its for the coronavirus deposits for the coronavirus vaccine. Heres what theyre saying. They told us theyre actively preparing to launch the coronavirus vaccine, this candidate. They fully fulfilled the human trial. Theyve got 30,000 participants right now and so its positive commentary coming on the vaccine from moderna. The stock is up 236 for the year. Conocophillips, obviously a lot of problems in the oil patch. We were looking for a loss of 32cents a share. They came in at a loss of 31cents a share. They are sitting on 6. 8 billion in cash of. And Goldman Sachs put a note about the oil industry in general. That these stocks could actually be poised for an uptick because youll see a lot more consolidation in the oil industry, considering whats happening with oil prices. Couple numbers crossing, wanted to bring them to you, maria. Back to you. Maria conocophillips shares up a third of a percent right now. Time for the word on wall street, top investors watching your money this week. Joining us now is larry glaser, lantzy lazar. Nancy lazar. Let me kick it off with. This morning we see a bit of a bounce, dow industrials up better than 100 points. Yesterday we were looking at a market that was down almost 1,000 points, all three major indices down better than 3 yesterday on worries over the coronavirus and the lockdown fears, fueling the selloff. The bounce that you see today, would you buy it . Were awaiting big tech earnings tonight, we have apple, amazon, facebook, google and twitter, reporting quarterly numbers after the close. Your expectations, larry . Its been a crazy week. More important than the selloff weve seen, is the dramatic impact on the Big Technology companies ahead of their big tech earnings. The stocks lost almost 300 billion in market cap in just a few short days. But even more important than that has been the spike that were seeing in volatility. In many cases up almost 50 in just a couple days. I think whats important here is these stocks seem haunted ahead of halloween, not just because of rising covid, because of election uncertainty but because of the three crazy numbers, two, three, zero, its the content moderation policy that will weigh on the companies well after the blowout earnings that they may have. Were optimistic about the earnings. Were cautious about the companies. There will be scrutiny on the firms. You see fords blowout earnings last night, youll see great durable goods, gdp is going to be unbelievable. Theres lots of good news but no, sir necessarily in the big but not necessarily in the big tech world where theyre in big trouble. Maria nancy, i love what Cornerstone Macro has been doing in terms of the president ial election and your take on different portfolios. Ism going to get to that in a moment. First let me get your take on the gdp. Were getting gdp out this morning. What are you expecting, nancy . Are you still looking for that vshaped recovery. For sure, in the Third Quarter, gdp will be very strong, anywhere from 30 to 35 with all components contributing to the growth. It was encouraging that you had the shutdown, then you had the reopening and massive stimulus and importantly weve got really big drivers of growth that are helping to propel jobs, helping Consumer Spending, Capital Spending and housing. Very broad based recovery in the economy in the Third Quarter and i think a vshaped recovery in corporate profits. If were geting the v rebound in gdp, well also get a v rebound in general in corporate profits. Maria all right. Thats good news. Lets go on to the biden portfolio versus the trump portfolio. Cornerstone macro has put together a list of names and industries that would get impacted. Lets start with President Trump, looking at energy, financials, china trade, tech stocks, specifically twitter as well within tech. Tell me about the names that would do well in a trump portfolio and then well go into the biden portfolio. Well, my colleagues actually put this report together and Melissa Turner put this report together. Its really a great report and great analysis and the bottom line is you get a huge bifurcation between the trump versus the biden portfolio, as you mentioned those names. Trump is obviously more in favor of continued low taxes, continued deregulation, thats helping to support a good group of companies. Maria yeah, your colleagues listed energy, financials, defense, healthcare, tech, all in the trump portfolio, obviously President Trump wants to raise defense spending. That would favor that group. Lets look at the biden portfolio and here your colleagues put together energy, drug prices, labor, infrastructure, big tech, labor related stocks could get impacted from a biden win. Your thoughts . It clearly is a very bifurcated portfolio. Infrastructure would be one actually that would be beneficial under both biden and a trump portfolio. Youve already seen that space start to do well. To be sure, certain areas of healthcare would be beneficial, huge amount of spending. Well be doing a lot more analysis on healthcare and how much thats going to be contributing to both growth and potentially inflation under the biden portfolio. The more government puts into the healthcare industry, the higher inflation typically gets in that space and so well, from an economic perspective, ill be watching healthcare particularly closely, big part of gdp, big part of Consumer Spending and potentially big part of inflation. Maria. You know, maria i thine makes a really good point. Maria go ahead, larry. If you look at some of the names that have benefited under the last few years, under any administration you may see a market rotation. As we talk about additional stimulus, that stimulus will be more targeted, more targeted towards Small Businesses. As a Small Business owner we think thats a good thing because its going to foster innovation. The idea is that the local deli needs the stimulus, amazon doesnt need the stimulus. So i think under any plan, its going to be smarter, more focused. Thats going to benefit main street, the cities, Small Businesses. I think overall its going to benefit the economy, not just in Consumer Spending but also going to benefit more additional Capital Spending which overall we get a multiplier effect. Maria what do you think are the most go ahead, nancy. I would be careful. Theres such a thing as too much stimulus, such a thing as a sugar high, a boom that leads to a bust. I think the biden add medicine vacation is talking about administration is talking about too much stimulus in an economy thats underlying healthy. That could create longer term head winds, let alone tax increases and higher regulations that theyre talking about longer term hitting gdp growth. Maria i think thats a really important point. That was my last question. What policies are most important to markets . I think the tax plan coming out of biden has certainly been scrutinized on wall street. Any other policy critical for the markets, real quick, nancy. To be sure, the tax increases, Corporate Tax increases are counterproductive. Companies hire people, they pay wages. Longterm youll see slower employment growth if you get these Corporate Tax increases. Ive been writing about this for a long time. Capital spending wont be under a biden administration, again, because of these Corporate Tax increases and thats crucial to sustaining a healthy economy. Maria yeah, thats true. Larry, real quick, final word from you. The Capital Gains taxis going to go up to 44. 3 under biden. Larry, final word. Were hearing anecdotally from businesses all around the country looking at selling before yearend. People are saying if Capital Gains will go up ill sell my business now and thats not necessarily a good thing. You dont want to see transactions just for tax purposes. The positives are, thats not baked in stone. We dont know where tax policy is going to be. We know lower taxes are better for the main street. Expected to hit nearly 14 billion, both president ial campaigns turning out a final push for ad spending in the final days, while joe bidens camp is spending more than President Trump in advertising, the president may be getting more bang for his buck. Joining us now is media ocean ceo, bill wise. Thank you for joining me. Assess the situation in terms of ad spending from your standpoint. Yeah, so when we saw 7 billion being spent last in 2016, we thought, hey, maybe we might get the 1 10 billion of total spend this season. 14 billion of spend is so much more than we ever thought. Obviously, people are passionate. Theres a lot of spend going into swing states. Media ocean has an interesting metric. We call it tv social lift. In the two minutes following when a tv commercial drops what happens to activity across social media, facebook and twit he. Hillary. Hillary twitter. What weve seen, biden has had 254 more tv commercials, total ads, but trumps tv social lift is 178 higher. So biden has to spend more because his ads arent as effective. Maria media ocean is akin to the bloomberg terminal for advertising. Your platform is bringing buyers and sellers together. What are you seeing in terms of the content . Do you think people are turned off by a negative ad about their competitor . Do you think people prefer seeing the candidate talk just about what theyre trying to do . Give us a word on sort of content. Yeah, i mean, content its very different depending on who the audiences are and now more than ever, you can target audience as opposed to just targeting a state or a county or a dma. And so were seeing different messages to different audiences. We are seeing trump tailor his campaign much more finetunely than biden and trump, even though biden is killing him on tv ads in terms of total volume, trump is still spending 60 more on facebook as an example than biden and you can really tailor your message individually on facebook. Maria i see. So break it down. Tv versus social, whats more . Tv is way, way more. Its also more costly. But dont forget, we saw in 2016 hillary ran a very traditional president ial campaign, a lot of tv ads, a lot of money spent on tv, whereas trump focused much h more of his efforts on things like facebook and social media where you can tell your message, you can get some viral aspects to that advertising. Maria yep. And also earned media is incredibly important and weve seen his earned media continue to grow, particularly with twitter. Maria all right. We will leave it there. When were thinking about Business Owners of, clearly what they want to see from whatever administration comes in is control of covid1 covid19 vir. They want to see focused on economic stimulus and then, depending on if they are if they get a Trump Administration, they certainly look forward to seeing a continued focus on lower taxes. Maria okay. So do Business Owners think differently than investors about who they believe will win or who they want to win . Yeah, thats a really fascinating dynamic, maria. So lets take investors in general, first. Investors in general, not surprisingly, like some of the political polls what we see is pretty much split, 51 biden, 49 trump but they expect biden to win at 56 probability. Business owners, however, both want trump to win, 55 45 for trump and expect him to win. So i would say theres certainly going to be a number of interested investors and Business Owners watching the news over the course of the days following the election. Maria yeah. Tom, this is great in terms of Business Owners preference. Let me take you away from the survey and get your thoughts on whats going on in markets right now. You have a wonderful Vantage Point to see the Wealth Management business and where people are buying and selling and what the flows say. What do you think was behind yesterday, that big selloff . Are people worried about new lockdowns or is it Something Else . Well, certainly there are some concerns about lockdowns. I think the phrase, though, is probably frightening people a bit more than what it actually looks like. Were not seeing the extent of the lockdowns that we saw at the onset of the crisis. I think people know a bit more, investors know a bit more what to expect. The bigger factor in their uncertainty, though, really is the election and what the outcomes what the outcome will be. And so what we see them doing and what weve seen them doing over the course of the end of the Third Quarter, october, is raising cash, adjusting some of their sectoral low of cases. I think you could sector allocations, i think you could read that selling some of the loosers and reallocating. What this tells us, in a backdrop of a combination of concern in the shortterm, optimism for the long term, theres a lot of fuel that investors have available to place in the markets. Maria and do they think the backdrop, the economy is doing well, coming back . Weve got the gdp out this morning. Yeah. So the optimism or pessimism that we saw back in march about the economy and about the stock market has rebounded significantly, just prior to the covid crisis, 68 were opt mitts particulamissoptimistic for the. Its now rebounded to 53 . Its extremely constructive. Certainly positive news on a vaccine and the beginning of the deployment of a vaccine would end up being something that would increase that optimism significantly. Maria all right. Stocks plummeted yesterday, a rise in the number of coronavirus cases spooking investor as far as what it may mean for further lockdowns and the economy. The move by the department of Homeland Security would replace the lottery which gives visas to overseas high skilled workers that would instead prioritize the selection of higher wage applicants for the approximately 85,000 annual h1b visas that are allocated every year. The Administration Says it would help workers while keeping the economy competitive. Tiffany has agreed to accept a lower price in the sale to lvmh after a dramatic spat. Under the new deal, lvmh will pay 131, 50 a share, down from the original price of 135, this saves the company about 430 million in the acquisition. This merger expected to close early next year. In that email theres a statement where they go through the equity, jim bidens referenced at 10 , doesnt say biden, it says jim. Then it has 10 for the big guy, held by h. I 1,000 sit here and know that the big guy is referencing joe biden many thats Crystal Clear to me because i lived it. I met with the former Vice President in person multiple times. You have been the one to bring these emails forward along with the New York Post, obviously exposing this. What do we know right now in terms of the deals that hunter biden negotiated and what was joe biden doing related to those deals . Well, first of all, to support mr. Bobulinski, there are two texts right in the hard drive, one in 2012, one in 2014, in which hunter refers to his father as the big guy. So theres no question that thats joe biden. And what it means is, he was getting 10 of the equity and about 25 of the 10 of Million Dollar 10 million ayear the chie paying him. He was dealing with Chinese Communists and theres an audio recording of hunter biden on the hard drive that we only discovered four days ago in which he says that theyre dealing with Chinese Communists. He identifies one of the gentleman as a spy master of the communist party. Maria, thats absurd. A man who wants to be president of the United States is in partnership with three Chinese Communists and no newspaper in america but the post and a few others and fox news will cover it. He bought them as a senator. Impossible. If hunter is correct, and heres how we can corroborate it, if a u. S. Attorney would ever have the guts to do this, we could subpoena the records of joes houses and see how many of the houses did joe pay for and we could subpoena the bank records and see if any money came in from hunter. Theyve known this for three years. Maria you brought forth very Important Information that the public needs to hear. Where is government . Where is the attorney general . Nowhere. Maria how come hunter biden has not been subpoenaed . Okay. How come were not forced to get an answer from the biden family about this, five days before an election. Because the media is crooked. You tried to work with the Trump Administration. You also tried to work with the democrats. President trump responded. Can you tell us what happened . After the death of george floyd i saw a lot of activity a lot of people talking about, you know, police reform, criminal justice reform. Not too many people talking about financial reform. And the reason i came on your show was because i knew that i would be talking the financial leaders in this country and you know, the fact that black people, you know make up 13 of this country but were living off of you know,. 5 of the wealth. You know, not even a percentage point of the wealth in this country, should let everybody know that should alarm everybody. And everybody should know that thats not sustainable. So thats the reason why, after coming out with the contract with black america i really went hard at both campaigns to see what they were going to do financially for the black community specifically. So that was the quest. Maria President Trump is talking about extending lending. He is talking about 40 billion in new lending and then that times 10 in order to allow the black community to create businesses, start ups about. Did you help him with his platinum plan in terms of that item, helping black america create business . What i tried to do was emphasize that you know, weve been under a smoke cloud of words like minority, people of color, diversity, urban, all these trick words that really puts us under all of america. We only get 2 of those programs. So i wanted to, basically tell the administration that, look, black people have paid an enormous debt. Im talking about the sentence of slaves in this country, have paid an enormous debt. There is enormous debt owed. Some estimate that the country has lost about 1trillion dollars due to racism. So with these things in place i wanted to make sure that anything being done that we need to be at the front of this line. The black people who have been here for centuries, who suffered here for centuries, need to be at the front of any line when it comes to helping businesses, you know, over the pandemic, over 43 of our businesses have shut down. Nobodys talking about that and so i just want to make sure that you know, all these political people understand that we have to help a specific group of americans to stop all this stuff going on in the streets because the country is coming apart at the seams. I dont know why people are seeing the real problem. It is not just police. It is financially. Maria of course. It is absolutely financial and you know you heard Candace Owens as we led into this segment and she questions why it is possible that the party of his torechy slavery and segregation gets 90 percent of the africanamerican vote. Are people starting to understand that it hasnt happened given all of these promise . Do you believe that you are going to see change . I dont know. You know, i mean, you know, i dont want to be is clumped up with other people. They clumping up with people like kanye west and 50cent. Im my own person. Maria i understand. With a lot of great people. We just want to be taken seriously. There is a lot of people that just want you to shut up and rap and all this kind of stuff but that is not the case. What we, what we know is weve been part of both parties as at some point in American History and our situation hasnt changed. So we have to do Something Different and so, you know, whatever that is, im, im really pleading not only to the government but the private sector, to come up with a solution that can help america. They know the numbers that i just gave out are not sustainable and thats why we have all the problems in the street. Maria thats right. Yep. And i feel people want Something Different other than empty promises. Right now these are Just Campaign promises. That is all they are. Until somebody do something, this just, theyre just words on a piece of paper. You know, we really need help. Im sick of playing this political game, both sides are trying to use me to gain points with the black community. Thats not going to happen. Maria yeah. Unless you come in with real solutions. Maria but i will say this, ever since you tried to work with the Trump Administration and gave the administration ideas on their platinum plan you have gotten slammed. Congressman cedric richmond, he serves as a cochair for the biden campaign. Denying claims you were told by them until wait until after the election to make demands for the black community. You also are seeing push back from Joe Scarborough on msnbc the other day, decides to comment on your career. Play that bite. Ice cube associates himself with donald trump calling hispanics breeders. Ice cube associates himself with jared kushner, cant help black people cant help themselves. I guess that is what ice cube associates himself. Nice career move. Maria what is he talking about, cube . The president s platinum plan is aiming to produce three million new jobs. Reaction what you heard . Just a got popping up. At the end of the day him and donald trump used to be friends. They fell out over whatever reasons. Who cares. At the end of the day, theyre mad because im willing to work with anybody willing to work with me to see some of these things thats in the contract with black america come to pass. Now, ive been getting pushback ever since i came out with the contract with black america. You know, from everybody who really dont want us to have a real ax, have real demands. People who want us to basically shut up and vote and im not going to do that. Im a citizen of this country just like everybody else and i can say what i want to say. Im not aligned with anybodys personal views. I only care about what they do in public as far as helping the public and you know, empty rhetoric, empty talk, everybodys popping off. At the end of the day we need to get what we need in this country to survive. If we dont get that, this country wont survive. Thats what im saying. Ive always been a messenger my whole career. Ive always been able to say things, an see things that ends up happening and look, i see the writing on the wall. This is not sustainable. You know, and look, you can take me for my word for it or not, or we can just keep pretending like, you know, it is just Police Brutality or it is just, we, were getting stopped at the polls but that is not it. It is a major problem that hasnt been solved and everybody got blinders on but i dont. Maria cube, what do you think is most important . This administration has taken on criminal justice reform. They are funding historically black colleges and universities. They are seeing declines in black unemployment, even pledging to make juneteenth a federal holiday. What do you want to see done in terms of real action . Youve been able to create an incredible life for yourself through hard work. You continue to reinvent yourself and create wealth and opportunity for those around you. I know the other day you were on the phone with College Students trying to take them to the next level. What is going to take, what do you want to see out of this administration or whoever is listening to you . Do you feel that youre being taken seriously . I mean definitely. You know i think, without me kind of pushing this line, you know, our concerns kind of would have been, you know, in everybodys back pocket and everybody is trying to get you know, white suburban housewives now. That is the thing to go after for these candidates but at the end of the day, until you solve these problems, i want to see more. I want to see people actually doing things to solve the problems. Now i understand there us a process and im going to be watching the process. Im going to see what happens after this election. I will be on whoever wins to implement some of these things that specifically help black americans because right now were, were being you know, kind of engulfed by this you know, broad minority brush that we dont really get our needs taken care of. Im just trying to break through all of that and make sure that the country pays the debt to the people that it is owed and you know, the history states that there is some debt owed. There has been, you know, very, you know, crazy, unscrupulous practices put together when it comes to dealing with us financially. It is just you know, if you read the history, its sad to see the things that has been done to the black Community Finance alley in this country. And that has to stop. Maria cube, let me ask you how Important School choice is to you. I also want to get your sense whats most important how you did it. You have been able to create success and wealth for yourself. How did you do it . Well i mean, you know, it is like the issue with how i did it its the same old road. You see the music or it is sports. You know how i did it. Music and sports, big deal. It is really about how does the average american do it . How does a black kid who will not be ice cube, who will not be lebron james, how do they do it . That is the key. Because you know, these, you know, socalled Success Stories are the same old stories. We want new Success Stories. We want people to be business superstars and not just rappers or entertainers. What was kind of chilling, being shared with us, he thought that he thinks xi xinping was ready to go but that it was a, more hardcore elements within the government there that scotched the deal and given xi xinping, it is really an oldfashioned communist thug who reasserted party control, it was kind of frightening to think there is actually an inare circle that is even more extreme than he is. Jobless claims coming down to 751,000, unemployment claims and 7. 75 million continuing claims also above estimates. Joining me to break down the numbers, telling you what ahead is macro maven president stephanie pompoy thank you so much for being here. Your reaction to the gdp and jobs numbers . Fantastic. Obviously the gdp number would beat the consensus expectations and you know i can get into the detail on that in a second but i would say that in terms of looking forward obviously the Third Quarter gdp is a back war looking number. That unemployment claims number may be even more important than gdp this morning. It ticked down and continuing claims ticked down which is incredibly positive. I think that bodes well for the Fourth Quarter. Within the Third Quarter gdp there were some surprises. You know, that housing which actually looks like were kind of getting into another housing bubble, was up 60 , residential investment. So that was a huge, you know, upside in this report. Obviously Consumer Spending was a huge contributor as well. The other thing that was inventories. There was a larger add from inventories and that cuts both ways. It helps boost growth in the Third Quarter but to the, extent that a lot of this rebuilding of inventories has not been completed, it suggests a headwind to growth as we go into the Fourth Quarter because companies have already put products back on the shelves and weve already seen indications that there is tapping the brakes on further production. Weve had two months of declining Industrial Production numbers. Import growth has slowed. You know we tend to import or have you know, until recently imported a lot of our inventories. So that suggests were seeing sort of an end in that inventor build phase and obviously Commodity Prices have rolled over as well. This is fantastic news. We had the vshaped rebound. The question is where we go from here . I guess the answer to that will be decided next tuesday and as your previous guests, mr. Meadows, you know, outlined very clearly, you know the choice is you can roll back all of the reductions in regulation and the tax cuts that helped generate the kind of growth weve seen, or you can continue with this agenda and hope that you know, we continue to see a strong recovery here. What were talking about if were going to do another, two, three trillion dollars in stimulus is, that will have to be matched by expansion in the fed Balance Sheet because we cant finance these deficits relying on foreigners who are now selling treasurys to the tune of 600 billion a year. So you know, the implications for the dollar of this kind of fiscal stimulus are really ominous. Thats why gold again until just recently has been doing so well.
