Now: The five Valles sisters, from left, Christine Tabor, who lives in Brighton; Teresa Wamel, Bloomfield, New Mexico; Debbie Voss, Ignacio; Cindy (Lorraine) Tucson, Durango; and Cora Avila, Modesto, Calif., recreate a photo from October 1968 when they were memorialized in The Durango Herald watching the Durango Band Parade. Until a librarian at the Durango Public Library found the original article in the digitized archives, the women had always thought they made the paper while watching the Fiesta Days Parade.
