They went out to a wedding together. Thats a picture from the wedding the night that he was then stabbed to death on the way home. This crazy murderer, who you see in this picture, is out there. Hes wandering around the streets still. Probably still has the knife or another weapon. New york police are asking anybody with information to come forward so they can catch this man. This is a warning. This video is disturbing. Its also what happened. We need to see what is happening out there. Martha just utter shock. Its unbelievable. So you cant make sense of this, of his death. Another person roaming free with a knife, a crazy person most likely. He took down ryan carson. He could be any of our relatives, this young man. He had his whole life ahead of him. We mourn the loss of him. He tried to defend himself. You saw what happened. Its not just here in new york, philadelphia, chicago, d. C. The people that you heard speaking out, those are regular folks on the street that are afraid, afraid to go out and live their normal life. In d. C. , the mayor has called for more police after this. This is the riots after George Floyds murder that unravelled in a way that made so many people unsafe in reality. They were hanging cops in ethogy in d. C. We dont have the officers that we need. Sadly we lost 300 to 400 officers in the last four years. Martha no wonder. 300 to 400 officers gone from d. C. Police need more reinforcements and calling out progressive policies that have left criminals back out on the street. Heres the d. C. Police union chief. Hes pleading. Listen. Till citizens live and work in the district of columbia tell the city council to act like an adult and actually take Public Safety seriously and hold criminals accountable, particularly violent criminals, i dont think there will be any change. Emotionally disturbed persons roaming the streets in the subways and the parks that need to be put in Mental Healthcare hospitals. We talked about the migrant situation. Its a psychiatric facility. 70 of beds are empty. No. Were putting illegals there. Lets take care of our own problems like this. This is one block away from the building owned by eric adams, the mayor. Hes family lives a block away. Yet, theres not any expediency to do anything about it because the mayor has no plan to deal with it. Martha the mayor, paul, he had a plan before they started really having an explosion of migrants in the city that he had to deal with to allow the police to take mentally disturbed people off the street and put them in the hospitals. As curtis points out, the hospitals are full of migrants. This is like dickens. Its insane what is happening in these buildings. Really is. One of the things that adams is up against, this time around im old enough to be here the first time that New York City started to circle the drain in the 80s and the 90s, the problem is its been institutionalized. Hes up against albany right now. During the de Blasio Administration and just in a general left ward surge here in new york state, albany passed these Criminal Justice reforms. Its law. Its not policy. We need another rudy guliani. No, we need another curtis sliwa. The Criminal Justice reforms are coming home. Yo could be the most hardcharging honest, integrity full cop in the world, you dont have an option. These guys are getting out. As far as the mentally ill goes, theres no option. Used to put them in the ambulance and give them and iv and go to belleview at best and walk out. Martha crazy. Somebody said they saw somebody in a Hospital Gown in tubes and tape Walking Around in the street. This poor person. I cant imagine, this is de blasio. Remember, everybody, you can trace this back to the george floyd murder, what was horrendous. People thought the solution was to vilify law enforcement. Not just the individual that did that but everybody. So now you end up with this huge deficit of safety and police officers. Heres a reminder from de blasio. Watch this. Our young people dont need to be policed. They need to be reached. Well be moving funding from the nypd to Youth Initiatives and social services. Well do it in a way that were certain that the city continues to be safe. This completely backfired. The city is not safe. My question, i want to leave on a note of what to do. Curtis, give the leadership one indication. What do they need to do . Let the cops do their jobs. They act like we cant let cops deal with the emotionally disturbed. Always did. They did a good job. Now you need Mental Healthcare experts. Where are they, martha . I never see them in the streets. Let the cops be cops. They can get us back where we need to be. The problem is anybody that goes in to police work, they go in because they want to be the good guy. They have to feel supported. Not just here in town but by the entire criminal Justice System. Where youre not getting the support is at the prosecutor levels. Alvin braggs of the world and all of these soros prosecutors, theyre diametrically opposed to the Police Department and the public in my estimation. Martha a lot of history there. The challenge will be youll have people that dont want to support jim for whatever reasons or people that dont want to Support Scalise for whatever reasons. You have to get to 218. Nobody can lose four votes. I know a lot of members will come out of conference with whoever wins the majority of the votes and say this is the guy well get behind. The challenge is, thats not what happens on the floor. You had eight republican members side with the democrats to kick out the speaker that 95 of the conference supported. So the challenge isnt necessarily in the conference meeting. The challenge will be on the floor beginning with the 218 number. Our speaker cant lose more than four votes. So that obviously has challenges. I think President Trump would unite the party around his agenda, the things we need to do. Quite frankly, hes the best person situated to shutting down the border, getting cut spending with schumer and President Biden. The judge will be the sole determinator to the damage of the trump business as a result of what the judge considers to be fraud. This trial is a total witch hunt. I should be entitled to a jury like everybody else is entitled to a jury. With a democrat judge, hes in control and its a shame. Whats going on here is a shame. Called td, tardive dyskinesia. Good to have your take on this. I know you have spoken out about this case. You said you believe the former president knows hes going to lose this case because its up to the judge who has said he believes basically that hes guilty. What do you think about the fact that the former president said he wouldnt be dealing with any of this if he werent running for president . I think theres a lot of truth to what President Trump is saying. The Attorney General here campaigned on targeting President Trump. I think that its hard to say that he wouldnt have been singled out if he had ridden off in to retirement or never been president in the first place. The problem for President Trump, those arguments dont work in a courtroom. Theyre called a defense of selective prosecution, which most judges never hear. They say its up to the prosecutors. Judges dont review why prosecutors choose one person or another person to bring to trial. This is another comment that he made and goes to the point that you made. Its fascinating to watch this process play out. He has so many legal challenges and courtroom dates in the middle of this campaign. Heres what he said about that. Id rather be in iowa. Id rather be in New Hampshire or South Carolina or ohio where a lot of other places. Im stuck here because i have a corrupt Attorney General that communicates with the doj In Washington to keep me nice and busy. Martha he seems to be campaigning on these comments during the day when he comes out to defend himself. He doesnt have to be in this courtroom. Hes not its not incumbent upon him to appear, correct . You got that right, martha. This is a civil case. He would have to appear in most of the criminal proceedings coming up. Thats why i was asking when we talked about this is that his political strategy and his legal strategy are working at odds. Id say he should be repeatedly showing up in court and coming out and attacking the prosecutor as racist, attacking the judge as a rogue judge that should be kicked out . Thats not going to help him win anymore in this case or on appeal. I can totally see the political platform this trial is giving him. Hes getting blanketed in the news. He doesnt have to go to iowa or New Hampshire because hes reaching those voters by attacking a Justice System that he claims is corrupt and that message is appealing to a lot of primary voters. Martha what about this judge. Heres a quote from judge engoron who is not a fan of donald trump it seems pretty clear. As you point out, the president has made his feelings known about the judge as well. He talk about Letitia James and her decision to bring this case. If he said if miss james has a thing against him, okay. Thats not in my understanding of unlawful discrimination. He just a bad guy that she should go after. Does that prejudice him against this case . I dont think so. So far i dont think hes stepped over any line in showing bias. Of course, weve yet to see how much damages will be awarded. I dont know. I looked at the decision he issued last week carefully. People are asking, why doesnt he demand there be fraud shown . Why has he gone to such extremes in suggesting a 250 million fine . Why has he between so far to suspend trumps right to do business . These do seem to be within the law of new york. If people are upset, they should be upset that new york law allows these kinds of cases, that the remedies can be so harsh. When the president asked for supplemental funding from the congress, he asked for billions more for Border Security. He also in the State Of The Union speech that began this year said our Immigration System is badly broken. I need congress to act to fix it. Senator cornyn invited me and a large Bipartisan Group to join him in visiting the border in el paso, texas and to go to mexico city to meade with the president and leadership of mexico. I appreciate senator cornyns leadership on this. A Bipartisan Group of us need to come together, Fund AdditionalBorder Security as our president has requested and make progress on this issue. Martha that money is to process people. To add border agents. Its not to turn people away. Its not to close the border and say the country is full, which is what these governors including pritzker and adams and hochul are asking for. They want the border they want people to stop coming, senator that money is not for that. Martha, to be clear, there is a proposal from a number of democrats to add billions to Border Security. To processing at border ports of entry, to inspecting vehicles, to inspecting people. One of our largest trade partners in the world is mexico. Theres thousands of trucks and buses and trains and people crossing the border every day in both directions to work. We dont want to shut that down. But we do want to get control of our border and prevent illegal migration. The challenge is doing so martha but what happens if one of those trucks is coming across and full of migrants crossing here to be taken care of essentially . Would you send them back . Well, it depends on what their status is and who they are. In many cases the administration is sending them back. For much of the last two years, thats been the case. There are regular flights returning people martha we have millions that have crossed over. I just got asked to approve funding for additional flights, repatriating folks that cross illegally. The challenge is to balance our moral commitment and our Treaty Commitment to allow those that are seeking asylum who are genuinely fleeing oppression and violence because of their religion or political views or commitment to democracy and to successfully weed out those who do not have a credible fear of persecution and should return to their country. Martha we know 80 to 90 of Asylum Requests do not fall in the area of acceptable legitimate Asylum Requests. Listen to these people in chicago. Because its kind of like what i was talking to folks here about earlier in the show, this man that got stabbed on the street. The kinds of things that were seeing happening because Mental Health facilities have been taken over by migrants so that they can live there. We have mentally ill people on the streets in new york as a result. Listen to these folks in chicago. The reality you have to say no. Thats the simple solution. No. Turn the buses around. We come in a community of black people where we already get the low scraps. You want to take the little scraps, the resources that we have and put us at the bottom of the barrel . [chanting]. I for one am not going to vote for a single penny for funding of the current policies of the Biden Administration, which are responsible for 11,000 people a day currently showing up illegally at the border and being sent in to the interior of the country and never to be heard from again. The reason why mayor Adams Statements in central to South America are not going to go anywhere is because people have successfully made their way in to the interior are calling their relatives saying i made it. You can, too. Theyre watching tv and seeing how the Border Patrol is overwhelmed. This requires number 1 enforcing the law, which the Biden Administration wont do. Number 2, changing the Asylum System so if you transit a safe third country, then you cant claim asylum in the United States. That would help take care of much of this. Ive asked the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Senator Durbin from illinois who says this is a problem in his state to work with us to try to come up with a solution.
