TROY, NY - It was a scorching hot afternoon game for the Valleycats on Sunday afternoon, as they looked to avoid a sweep and break a seven game losing streak.
"I think this is a win that we needed to get us back on track," said Tri-City closer Trey Cochran-Gill, who came in to earn a two inning save in the Valleycats 4-2 win over the Jackals.
With the win, they avoided being swept by New Jersey and snapped their losing streak.

Denis Phipps got things started for the 'Cats in the bottom of the first inning, as he hit a home run for the second straight day. The two-run shot, that stayed just inside the foul pole in left, provided an early lead for starting pitcher Parker Kelly.
