Now, as your headlines with. Ray thanks patrick. Good afternoon. Its 3 01. Our top story the first load of humanitarian aid from the uk to gazais humanitarian aid from the uk to gaza is on its way to egypt. The ministry of defence confirmed that an raf plane is carrying 21 tonnes of supplies, which include medical equipment and water filters. The government water filters. The government says stockpiles of wound care packs were donated by the department for health. The aid will be distributed through the egyptian red crescent. We can egyptian red crescent. We can see for those of you watching on television now, live footage from gaza here in the uk, the Prime Minister is refusing to support calls for a ceasefire despite pressure from more than 80 mp5 despite pressure from more than 80 mps to do so. Instead, rishi sunakis 80 mps to do so. Instead, rishi sunak is backing specific pauses in the conflict to allow for the Safe Delivery of aid to the territory. Five british nationals are among more than 200 people still being held hostage in the strip. Hostage in the strip. The first and most important principle is that israel has the right to defend itself under international law. Our support for that position is absolute and unchanged. But from the start, we have also said that we do want british nationals to be able to leave gaza and that we want hostages to be released and for humanitarian aid to get in. And we recognise that for all of that to happen, there has to be a safer environment, which of course necessitates specific pauses as as distinct from a ceasefire along with new strikes today, israel intensified its bombardment of gaza overnight. The military saying that it targeted hamas infrastructure, including a weapons stockpile. The Palestinian Health ministry, which is run by hamas , says 756 which is run by hamas, says 756 people, including 344 children, have been killed in the past 24 hours. That brings the total to more than 6500 since october 7th. The Israel Defence forces also say the navy spotted terrorists exiting a tunnel onto a beach on the strip. They were a beach on the strip. They were killed when they tried to enter israeli territory by sea. A israeli territory by sea. A former South Wales Police officer has been jailed for life with a minimum of 12 years for Sexual Offences against children. Lewis edwards used fake social media accounts and posed as a teenager to groom more than 200 young girls online. He forced his victims to take indecent images of themselves using the material to blackmail them in sentencing, the judge described his behaviour as cruel and sadistic and said he posed a dangerous risk to children. Head of the forces online investigation team, detective superintendent Tracey Rankin says this behaviour will not be tolerated. Behaviour will not be tolerated. And it was just devastating to know that that person was one of our own at the time of the offending and im really grateful all of the swift nature that he failed to stop being a Police Officer because, you know, he was he was sacked, which im really you know, that sends a very strong message that, you know, we wont tolerate this sort of activity and behaviour. Tolerate this sort of activity and behaviour. The two met and behaviour. The two met Police Officers have been sacked after being found guilty of gross misconduct over the stop and search of two black athletes , ricardo dos santos and his partner Bianca Williams were stopped in their car in london in 2020. Nothing was found in the vehicle and no arrests were made, with the pair publicly accusing the force of racism. Five officers were investigated. Five officers were investigated. All of them denied any wrongdoing. But the panel upheld wrongdoing. But the panel upheld complaints against pcs Jonathan Clapham and sam franks. Three clapham and sam franks. Three people have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after londons wellington arch was vandalised. A Just Stop Oil was vandalised. A Just Stop Oil posted video of activists spraying orange paint on the grade one listed structure, which is almost 200 years old. They then set off flares. The stunt is part of the groups Ongoing Campaign , demanding the Ongoing Campaign, demanding the government end new oil and gas contracts. Rishi sunak was contracts. Rishi sunak was quizzed on the cost of living crisis on his First Anniversary as Prime Minister the labour leader accused his government of crashing the economy, highlighting the case of a family whose mortgage went up by a quarter. The pm responded by saying his policy to cope with Rising Interest Rates is twice as generous as the opposition, which has a track record of u turns. But sir keir starmer says the recent by Election Results are a clear message from voters. Voters. Truth is, his candidate in tamworth summed up perfectly just how his and his tories are treating the British Public. So will he just call a general election and give the british pubuc election and give the British Public the chance to respond as they did in selby . Mid beds and tamworth . Theyve heard the government telling them to f off and they want the chance to return the compliment, as we saw with his recent decisions on actually building new houses. Politicians like him always take the easy way out. Mr speaker , whereas were, were speaker, whereas were, were getting on making the right long term decisions to change this country for the better. On net zero, on hs2, on a smoke free generation, on education and energy security. Contrast that to his leadership. Too cautious to his leadership. Too cautious to say anything and hope that nobody notices. Mr speaker , let nobody notices. Mr speaker, let me tell him, come that general election, the british people will and anne diamond has been made an obe at Buckingham Palace. The journalist and gb news presenter received the honour from king charles for her services to Public Health and charity. It recognise her campaigning efforts for research into cot death following the death of her son sebastian, from sudden infant death syndrome. She said in june that she received news of the honour on the same day that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. This is gb news across the uk on tv , in your car, on digital tv, in your car, on Digital Radio and on your Smart Speaker by saying play gb news news. Now lets get back to. Patrick lets get back to. Patrick keir starmer has bungled a trip to a mosque. Now, at first glance, this issue is absolutely hilarious. But then the more you think about it, the more depressing it gets. So, captain, hindsight rocks up at a mosque in south wales with his own paparazzi to stage some kind of islamic love in and demonstrate that he isnt entirely on the side of israel in this war. Hes obviously expecting to be greeted with open arms to get a load of smiley shots and to help hoover up the three and a bit million votes that the Muslim Population has to population of britain has to offer. What happened was a lesson in how cack handed virtue signalling can go. Catastrophic really wrong, the imam reported he didnt really speak english and didnt know who he was. Ill return to that in a moment. Other people at the south Wales Islamic Centre didnt want to be used for very cheap pr stunt and they berated keir starmer. Then they berated keir starmer. Then keir starmer was not so slick. Pr machine put out this tweet which you will see on your screens. Now if youre watching us on tv or online saying the labour leader echoed calls for hostage to be released for humanitarian aid to get to gaza, for israel to keep electricity and water flowing into the area, as well as his push for a two state solution. But this was state solution. But this was greeted with fury by elements of the Islamic Community. This prompted the imam to receive loads of angry phone calls. According to reports. He then according to reports. He then literally broke down in tears, started bawling his eyes out. Okay and the Muslim Council of wales felt the need to issue this statement, slamming starmer, claiming that they were dismayed by him that hed essentially misled an imam and misrepresented their conversations entirely. And now, conversations entirely. And now, sir keir is urgently meeting with a load of labour muslim mps because loads and loads of councillors are resigning right across the uk and the party is being ripped apart right now. That stuff i find absolutely hilarious. Its a completely self inflicted crisis that has blown up way bigger than anyone could have expected, but i scratch the surface and actually it exposes some massive problems in society here. We appear to have, according to reports, an imam practise being in one of the oldest and best established muslim communities in wales who doesnt speak english and cant read english and has in no way bothered to engage with british politics. He has no idea who the leader of the opposition, who quite possibly, by the way, could be the next Prime Minister here, is that speaks volumes, doesnt it . But heres the other big issue. Doesnt it . But heres the other big issue. Im not doesnt it . But heres the other big issue. Im not known for big issue. Im not known for giving keir starmer an easy ride, he has actually been ride, but he has actually been pretty neutral the israel pretty neutral on the israel gaza , hamas situation. Hes gaza, hamas situation. Hes condemned hamas, a terrorist organisation. Hes called for organisation. Hes called for restraint from israel. Okay. Restraint from israel. Okay. Hes called for humanitarian aid to continue to go to gaza. Fine. To continue to go to gaza. Fine. And hes called for israel to keep providing electricity and water. He has actually been really quite reasonable in all of this. Hes walked the line on this quite well. The one thing this quite well. The one thing that he hasnt done is call for an immediate ceasefire, and thats absolutely fair enough. Thats absolutely fair enough. And yet that is not enough for clearly, clearly elements of the Islamic Community in wales. And dare i suggest elsewhere as well, do you think maybe that might be a little problem . The might be a little problem . The final big issue is what happens now, isnt it . We have seen Police Forces , workplaces and Police Forces, workplaces and schools bend over backwards to accommodate the sensitivities of more hardline elements of britains Islamic Community. The labour leader now finds himself confronted by backlash from councillors from mps and from parts of the extreme left of his party and possibly possibly millions of people within a certain religious community. Does he continue to say what hes been saying so far when it comes to israel and gaza, or does he cave in and fold to their demands . How long is it their demands . How long is it before the labour leader is running . Press releases past the running . Press releases past the south Wales Islamic Centre. South Wales Islamic Centre. Well, you can email me with your views, gb views gbnews. Com. I want to hear from you on this. I want to hear from you on this. I want to hear from you on this. I want to know what you think it all really means. There is an all really means. There is an ongoing story which were going to talk about now with our Political Correspondent olivia utley joins us at the moment utley who joins us at the moment from west minster. Yes, olivia, thank you very much. So keir thank you very much. So keir starmer is in a bit of a mess here. I understand that hes been meeting several muslim been meeting with several muslim labour there are rumours labour mps and there are rumours onune labour mps and there are rumours online of a couple of people threatening to quit. Labour councillors have gone loads in scotland have walked apparently quite a few in oxford, some others dotted around the country. Bradford being some of them. Whats going on in labour at the moment over this . At the moment over this . Well as you say, patrick keir starmer is in a real mess. I was at Prime Ministers questions earlier and you could see just what a pickle hed got himself in this should have been a really easy pmqs for starmer. He won two by elections in an unprecedented fashion last week, overturned a majority of 24,000 in mid bedfordshire. Overturned a majority of 24,000 in mid bedfordshire. And yet it in mid bedfordshire. And yet it felt very much as though he was on the back foot. Why why . Because for the whole six questions, he didnt once mention the middle east. Now that seems absolutely bizarre given that its obviously at the forefront of pretty much everyones minds and on the front page of every single newspaper. Been for the newspaper. And has been for the last and a half but last two and a half weeks. But as you the reason hes so as you say, the reason hes so keen to avoid subject is keen to avoid this subject is that theres now a real schism in labour over some comments that keir starmer made about israel with nick israel in an interview with nick ferrari, presenter he said ferrari, lbc presenter he said that im paraphrasing here, but he essentially said that he supported israels right to cut off the water supply to gaza. He off the water supply to gaza. He hasnt actually rowed back on that yet. Hes still saying that he is 100 behind israel just like the Prime Minister and as a result, 25 labour councillors up and down the country have resigned and there are rumours that frontbenchers are going to resign as well. Obviously some of them are deeply, deeply concerned by the humanity crisis in gaza and some of them are also quite worried about their own seats. Its thought that there in the there are 30 seats in the country where the muslim vote will a be of great will have a will be of great importance , could decide which importance, could decide which way seat goes, and 30 labour way the seat goes, and 30 labour mps arent happy at all. One really question at really interesting question at pmqs was from a shadow minister for women and equalities who stood up and said how many more people have to die before the Prime Minister, rishi sunak, will agree to a ceasefire well, the official labour line is that there should be no ceasefire that israel has a right to defend itself. If so, it feels defend itself. If so, it feels as though some of those shadow ministers are playing pretty close to the edge of disagreeing with labour official policy. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Keir starmer, meet reality. Olivia thank you very much. Olivia thank you very much. Olivia utley there. Gb news is Political Correspondent in westminster. Well go back to olivia for any updates. Will we get some big hitting labour resignations over this . It appears like its certainly on the cards. They are absolutely tying themselves in knots. Im joined edwards , joined now by peter edwards, whos former editor of whos the former editor of labourlist. Thank you labourlist. Peter, thank you very, very much. Labour is in a mess, isnt it . Of this . I mess, isnt it . Of this . I wouldnt put it like that. And patrick, youre often very reasonable and balanced , but the reasonable and balanced, but the first half of your intro was was way too trivial for me. I first half of your intro was was way too trivial for me. I think as you then went on to say, keir starmer is trying to do essentially what rishi sunak is doing, which is recognising there was a worse terrorist attack on israel since the holocaust horrific holocaust completely horrific events. But as we speak, civilians are dying in gaza in terrible circumstances. And as terrible circumstances. And as you mentioned, keir starmer and mayor muslim residents and muslim mps and hes done the same with the jewish community, i believe, and hes hes trying to ensure hes annoyed them all, hasnt he . I mean, hes hes wound them right up. I mean, supposedly one of his aides has called south called an imam of the south Wales Islamic Centre, who barely speaks any english. I had no idea who this guy is, and hes turned up with a his own photo crew and put out what what the people of the people of the Islamic Community of wales , the Islamic Community of wales, the Muslim Council of wales, say is a completely misleading account of what actually happened. I mean, hes had an absolute nightmare , hasnt he . And then nightmare, hasnt he . And then off the back of it weve got here now im just going to read you i type in labour council, you if i type in labour council, resign on google. Bradford councillor as has councillor resigns as labour has betrayed british muslims over gaza. Thats why resigning gaza. Thats why im resigning from the party. Oxford city council disappointed six Council Leader disappointed six more councillors resign. Labour more councillors resign. Labour voters are appalled at starmer over palestine. 15 scottish labour officers resign over gaza. Labourin labour officers resign over gaza. Labour in crisis as 23 councillors resign. But you say the party is not in a mess over this . Well i wouldnt use a word crisis because theres an actual crisis because theres an actual crisis in the middle east where here were talking about differences of opinion and conscience, albeit ones held very deeply. I think weve got to keep it in proportion. Of course, its a very difficult time. Time. A two days ago, that one, its gone up now. Gone up now. A there is support for the leader and i think he, to be frank. Frank. Because its. Because its. At 4 million votes from. At 4 million votes from. From may be a problem. May be a problem. You know on day one of becoming. You know on day one of becoming. A number of deaths in israel and in palestine. In palestine. Except theres a crisis in the middle. Except theres a crisis in the middle. Rikki except theres a crisis in the middle. Rikki neave what you middle. Rikki neave what you just said there, that. Just said there, that. When it comes to whats going on in the middle. Relating to our conscience , its obvious that. Conscience, its obvious that. Okay, he could have gone. Okay, he could have gone. He sees this was designed to. He sees this was designed to. Be a hes currently doing a giant. A hes currently doing a giant. Frontbench resignations here some shadow from. Some shadow from. But apparently and transparency you know again. You know again. The message of solidarity a time, for example, not just when in these things have to be done publicly. Publicly. What happened at said mosque and also Keir Starmers meeting. Also Keir Starmers meeting. Brit school corresponding and our Political Editor as well. So our Political Editor as well. So well keep you up to date on all of this. Theres great of this. Theres Great National news site in the country. Its got the best analysis, big opinion and all the latest. And later in the show, with less than three weeks to go to remember sunday, i will discuss the decision to put barriers around and the cenotaph. I think is pretty bleak. Okay. I will be asking, what does that say about the state of modern britain . Yes i am aware thats a rhetorical question, but i do want you to get in touch about it anyway. Gb views. Cbnnews. Com. So israel is continuing to demand the resignation of the un secretary general. Know if you saw general. I dont know if you saw this remarkable turn events this remarkable turn of events there. Antonio gutierrez was there. So Antonio Gutierrez was saying longer fit saying that hes no longer fit to right after he linked to lead it right after he linked hamass attack to what he called israels 56 years of suffocating occupation in palestine. I mean, hes been accused of legitimise terrorism. So israel has responded by blocking visas for un officials, claiming that gutierrezs comments appear to condone hamass massacre of more than 1000 israeli citizens. Than 1000 israeli citizens. Meanwhile, there are fears that gazas hospitals may be on the bnnk gazas hospitals may be on the brink of cancelling all but life saving treatments due to a shortage of fuel and equipment. And the un is warning that the embattled enclave has just 24 hours worth of fuel left. I think arguably the biggest story as well is that the leaders of three separate terror organisations have met today. But well come to that, no doubt. Lets cross now to tel aviv and speak to our security editor, mark white. Mark thank you very much. First things first. With first. Israel, not happy with the un . No, not at all. And Antonio Gutierrez has been speaking today trying to explain and justify the comments that he made yesterday when he very clearly said that the attacks of the 7th of october did not happenin the 7th of october did not happen in a vacuum. That palestinians have suffered. For palestinians have suffered. For 56 years of a suffocating occupation. And went on to say as well that their lands had been slowly devoured by settlements and they had suffered significant violence. Well, he said what he said, but israels reacted again to that, saying that hes only just making matters worse because its very clear what hes saying and what hes saying. According to the israelis , is excusing the to the israelis, is excusing the attacks that led to the slaughter of 1400 people on the 17th. On the 7th of october. Ive been looking back at the latest developments on day 19 of the war against hamas , just the war against hamas, just hours after the un hours after the u n secretary general hours after the un secretary general called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in gaza. This was israels in gaza. This was israels response. Its a further response. Its a further intensive allocation of airstrikes against what israel says were hamas positions , says were hamas positions, including command and control compounds, Ammunition Stores and rocket launchers. But with many rocket launchers. But with many of those hamas positions right in the centre of residential areas, the toll on gazas civilians is enormous. Civilians is enormous. The amount of mohammad in the hamas controlled Health Ministry claimed more than 700 died in the latest round of israeli strikes , dismissing the strikes, dismissing the secretary generals call for a ceasefire, israel said it had no intention of easing up on its operation to destroy hamas and there is no widespread anger across israel after Antonio Guterres went on to say that although there was no justification for the attacks on the 7th of october, they did not occur, he said. In a vacuum , the palestinian in a vacuum, the Palestinian People have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation. Years of suffocating occupation. They have seen their land steadily devoured by settlements and plagued by violence. Their and plagued by violence. Their economy stifled their people, displaced and their homes demolished. I think that the secretary general must resign because from now on, every day that he is here in this building , unless he apologises immediately. Today we called him immediately. Today we called him to apologise. There is no justice dedication to the existence of this building. Existence of this building. There are growing fears here of a widening regional conflict. Of a widening regional conflict. The head of the Hezbollah Terror Group in lebanon has met leaders from hamas and Islamic Jihad, pledging support for a resistance axis against israel, which would include help from iran and syria. These unverified iran and syria. These unverified images claim to show the aftermath of an israeli strike on Syrian Military positions overnight. Right. Which the idf overnight. Right. Which the idf said had been launching rockets into israel. Syrian Authorities Say eight of their soldiers were killed and seven injured. And in another serious incident, israel said it killed a group of Hamas Terrorists trying to reach israel by sea to launch an attack in a Community North of gaza. Attack in a Community North of gaza. It came on the back of the gaza. It came on the back of the largest rocket barrage into Central Israel since the 7th of october. Attacks across tel aviv, people ran for shelters as iron dome Missile Defence systems intercepted multiple hamas rockets. One struck a Community Northeast of tel aviv, badly damaging a property with many more burials in israel and in gaza. Any thoughts of a ceasefire in this conflict . Must ceasefire in this conflict . Okay. This guy and remarkable. Okay. This guy and what hes able to have achieved here with me to discuss this is political commentator alex armstrong. Alex thank you very, very much. The taxpayer has ended up paying this particular guy quite a lot of money, around £60 million in profits. I understand that he provides different bits of variety of different bits of variety of different elements of accommodation to channel migrants with mixed reviews. By migrants with mixed reviews. By the way, if you read whats on google and is this a waste of taxpayers money or a true story about Great British entrepreneurial spirit . Yeah, mustnt forget yeah, well, we mustnt forget about great entrepreneurial spirit in this country. Certainly a little we certainly need a little bit of it, thats sure. Bit more of it, thats for sure. However, is quite however, this is quite shocking, isnt it . Were spending millions and millions shocking, isnt it . Were spermillions lions and millions shocking, isnt it . Were spermillions ofns and millions shocking, isnt it . Were spermillions of poundsnillions shocking, isnt it . Were spermillions of pounds onlions shocking, isnt it . Were spermillions of pounds on this and millions of pounds on this every day. And millions of pounds on this eveand day. And millions of pounds on this eveand to day. And millions of pounds on this eveand to see ry. And millions of pounds on this eveand to see someone so and to see someone so brazenly abusing the system, i mean, we know the governments procurement system is pretty bad as it is. See how much money but to see how much money were really spending this is were really spending on this is quite now, i know you quite shocking. Now, i know you were talking about the accommodation looks accommodation and it looks pretty that said, im pretty bad. That being said, im sure there are better ways for the government spend this the government to spend this money, you think . Patrick . Money, dont you think . Patrick . I would have thought well, i would have thought so. Ready homes is so. Clearsprings ready homes is the company. Apparently its. The company. Apparently its. Made £500 million at times. This company, which is remarkable, his firm was paid £1. 3 billion in 12 months. Thats £3. 5 million a day for accommodating and transporting arrivals. There are pictures of him on holiday as well. You would be, wouldnt you . To be fair, on holiday, you know, topless. Got the towel on know, topless. Got the towel on got on the beach. I mean id be got on the beach. I mean id be to be honest i think id probably be dead in a week if i had that kind of money and a bank account. But this just shows the amount money going shows the amount of money going about accommodate for the about to accommodate for the migrant doesnt it . Migrant crisis, doesnt it . It does. And think yeah, it does. And i think the taxpayer going to be the taxpayer is going to be pretty miffed by this news. I mean, do know what i think mean, do you know what i think whats really upsetting people is been crying is that theyve been crying out for decade for the for the last decade for the government to get on top of this. Tory government to this. A tory government to actually address issue. And actually address this issue. And theyve a multi theyve turned it into a multi billion pound capitalist venture fund. Nuts. Really, fund. Its nuts. We really, really on top of really need to get on top of this. Government got this. The government have got to wake listen to the public. I mean, i suppose at least this is in some way going to a british businessman who may well end may well up paying end up may well end up paying tax on the millions of pounds that taxpayers that british taxpayers are paying that british taxpayers are paying him. Im looking for paying for him. Im looking for silver here. Im just Silver Linings here. Im just looking here. Looking for Silver Linings here. Hes this guy, mr hes 56 years old. This guy, mr king, may become britains king, he may become britains first immigration industry billionaire with his Home Office Contract lasting until september 20th, 29. And this is an element of it. It really doesnt look like the government is actually planning on this stopping any time soon. No, i mean , you clearly said no, i mean, you clearly said 2029, way past the next election, so im sure itll be labours problem and im sure they wont do much it. But they wont do much about it. But you was interesting you know, what was interesting to that is to read about that is his daughter, who paid, you daughter, who hes paid, you know, tens thousands of know, tens of thousands of pounds to send to boarding school artwork, school is selling artwork, saying trade refugees, trade racists refugees. Racists for refugees. Yes. So, yeah , so theres clearly yeah, so theres clearly a political agenda embedded in their family as well. So, you their family as well. So, you know, i dont think mr king wants this to stop. That is a really i wonder what their kind of dinner conversation is like. How many more refugees can we get into the camp this week to make some more money and sell some of your prints and sell some of your prints and sell some of your prints . Stuff. Of me remarkable stuff. Part of me thinks guy is seeing an thinks this guy is seeing an opportunity. So supposedly this thinks this guy is seeing an opalltunity. So supposedly this thinks this guy is seeing an opall you y. So supposedly this thinks this guy is seeing an opall you know, supposedly this thinks this guy is seeing an opall you know, according this thinks this guy is seeing an opall you know, according toiis is all you know, according to reports, he running reports, he was running a caravan island caravan park on Canvey Island in essex with his brother. He branched out after a disco that he ran, lost licence, and he ran, lost his licence, and he thought, well, he could maybe use building form a cinema use the building form a cinema to house refugees instead. It has snowballed. I has absolutely snowballed. I seriously, enjoy seriously, genuinely quite enjoy this guys entrepreneurial spirit. Im this guys entrepreneurial spirit. Im not this guys entrepreneurial spirit. Im not knocking that at spirit. Im not knocking that at all. You know. Why would you voluntarily turn down this kind of money somebody offering of money if somebody offering you . But it is a sign of the times that it has actually come to this. Apparently theres loads of these around the country and yeah, its supposedly, though supposedly the conditions are not the Living Conditions are not particularly great. Sure. I mean, i wonder yeah, sure. I mean, i wonder at what point hell be making more centerparcs, but more money than centerparcs, but yeah, you know, but you know whats whats really sad is that it doesnt seem to be either side of the political aisle a good way to this problem. Good way to solve this problem. I cooper came out i mean, Yvette Cooper came out today and she said, oh, well do this by stopping hotels altogether. This by stopping hotels altogetoer. This by stopping hotels altogeto do with them . Shes going to do with them . Shes saying, well, well clear the backlog. Then where backlog. Well, then where are you to put everybody . So, you going to put everybody . So, you going to put everybody . So, you understand someones you going to put everybody . So, you to understand someones you going to put everybody . So, you to do understand someones you going to put everybody . So, you to do this. Derstand someones you going to put everybody . So, you to do this. Imstand someones you going to put everybody . So, you to do this. Im glad someones you going to put everybody . So, you to do this. Im glad its|eones got to do this. Im glad its a british entrepreneur. I will say that, however, british that, however, the british pubuc that, however, the British Public at public just dont want it at all. So, you know whos addressing this problem . Nobody. Nobody political aisle. Nobody in the political aisle. Much money and theres so much money going right . So when going about here. Right . So when people wonder why the people often wonder why is the local hotel my local hotel in my town, especially the ones near airports, i mean, i can think of airports, i mean, i can think of a couple near where my family are manchester where a couple near where my family are thinknchester where a couple near where my family are think that;ter where a couple near where my family are think that hotel where a couple near where my family are think that hotel doing a couple near where my family are think that hotel doing . You think that hotel was doing . Well, that wasnt its knees. Well, that wasnt on its knees. There no real obvious need there was no real obvious need for come in and be rescued for it to come in and be rescued by the office here that was by the home office here that was surviving had done for surviving and had done for decades as it was. And i think that indication of how that gives an indication of how much offer. It much money is on offer. And it takes all your all the worries out of hoteliers hands. This doesnt it . You dont have to run your leisure facilities. You dont have to pay your staff. You do anything. You dont have to do anything. Well probably give you refurb well probably give you a refurb aftennards pay you aftennards and we will pay you way what you would have way above what you would have earned month anyway. Earned in that month anyway. Im sure the yeah, and im sure the deposits these schemes are deposits for these schemes are pretty so theyll pretty big as well, so theyll be making a nice amount of interest of that too, you interest on top of that too, you know . Mean, i think you know . I mean, i think you actually might be one of the worst off going one of worst off people going to one of mr kings sites given the Living Conditions. Rather going conditions. Id rather be going to star hotel in to that five star hotel in rochdale, but, you rochdale, frankly. But, you know, just know, again, its just symptomatic of issues, symptomatic of these issues, isnt cant get isnt it, patrick . You cant get away from real issue here, away from the real issue here, which illegal immigration is which is illegal immigration is costing of costing us almost billions of pounds, of pounds. Its pounds, billions of pounds. Its more we send in to more than we send in aid to syria. It pretty mad. Syria. It is pretty mad. He earns. Yeah. This guy he earns. Yeah. So this guy apparently has more off apparently has earned more off the. Yeah. Than the migrant crisis. Yeah. Than than of weve than the amount of money weve sent syria and that sent to syria and that weve sent to syria and that weve sent a other nations and sent to a few other nations and entire nations for foreign aid as well. So, i mean, i think, you know, that phrase Charity Starts at home. Im not sure people had in mind this guy who goes globetrotting holidays , goes on globetrotting holidays, alpine sends their alpine ski trips and sends their daughter allegedly to a £44,000 daughter, allegedly to a £44,000 a boarding school where she a year boarding school where she sells art prints for £10, will trade racists for refugees. Itll be interesting that. Not sure, not sure if you think that if that £44,000 a year boarding school dried up but there we go. Thank you very much. Its great to have you on the show. Thanks as ever. Ill be seeing you very, very soon. No doubt. So. Yes. We go. All the yes. Well there we go. All the money paid to graham king has come from the taxpayer. Was come from the taxpayer. As i was saying, providing saying, he is providing accommodation. For accommodation. Apparently for channel migrants we go. Channel migrants so there we go. And was alex and yes, that was alex armstrong, political commentator and at and fan favourite here at gb news. Has news. Now Carol Vorderman has got honorary title, but got an honorary raf title, but her Anti Government rants have left wondering whether left officials wondering whether they away the maths they should take away the maths genius, sheer genius. The maths genius, sheer genius. The maths genius, sheer genius. The maths genius is role shes good at maths anyway. Theyre looking at stripping her of her titles. Patrick christys. Gb news news, britains news channel. News, britains news channel. Well come back it is Patrick Christys here on gb news now. Christys here on gb news now. Okay all right so look weve got loads to come on the show here. Im going to start with Carol Vorderman, who has got herself into a little bit of hot water. Now, if i mention the name Carol Vorderman, whats the first thing that springs to mind . Is thing that springs to mind . Is it the maths genius who who starred countdown for more starred on countdown for more than 25 or is it a angry than 25 years, or is it a angry Anti Government rants that she seems to specialise in recently . Vorderman is an honorary raf group captain, but her repeated abuse of the tories left some senior officials discussing whether she should be stripped of the role. Im joined now by Squadron Leader graham laurie, who in a distinguished career was responsible for flying members of the royal family. Graham, thank you very, very much. Carol vorderman has much. So Carol Vorderman has come and tweeted rather come out and tweeted some rather nasty things, doesnt she , about nasty things, doesnt she, about the conservative government, which hopefully some which hopefully at some point will you some examples of will bring you some examples of what make of it . Do you what do you make of it . Do you think that she should be stripped of her of honorary stripped of her of her honorary positions . Well, this, think, positions . Well, this, i think, is a difficult situation because its caused by social media. When i was in the Royal Air Force between 1964 and 2000, and wed only just started to get mobile phones. Mobile phones. And of course, this now now is the norm. And i noticed that the raf have said that its up to the individual now to use social media. But you know , in this but you know, in this situation it started as a political thing and the raf have got dragged into it. Um, what they should do. I think it will die within a few daysif think it will die within a few days if she doesnt start quoting again and then the raf can decide in slow time whether they continue. They continue. So shes, shes, shes, shes, shes, shes called the tories a lying bunch of greedy, corrupt, destructive, hateful , corrupt, destructive, hateful, divisive, gaslighting crooks. Divisive, gaslighting crooks. Which, you know, next time , say which, you know, next time, say what you really think. Carol i suppose should somebody like that be having anything to do with the Royal Air Force, do you think . Think . Okay. Well, in my view, the okay. Well, in my view, the answer is no. But of course, things have changed since i left. As far as im concerned, a serviceman acts for the monarch and it is up to the Senior Officers at the ministry of defence to decide , ministry of defence to decide, decide what goes on outside of that. I mean, in my day i dont think it would have happened because it would not have dragged on. We didnt have that facility. We you might have said facility. We you might have said something to a friend, but it wouldnt have got out to the world as it does now. And its world as it does now. And its just yet another problem with social media. Oh, yeah, indeed. Shes also absolutely slated at rishi sunak rishi sunak lies the new flying tax doesnt exist. Compulsory tax doesnt exist. Compulsory car sharing doesnt exist. Car sharing doesnt exist. Mandatory insulation upgrade doesnt exist. Mind you, a recycling bin each for dozy, nasty, dodgy , greedy, shouty and nasty, dodgy, greedy, shouty and bully at the german election is a grand idea. I assume that she a grand idea. I assume that she is of course talking about a variety of different conservative party ministers. Not everyones entitled to their views. Course they are. I views. Of course they are. I mean, shes not, you know, in a role. I would have suggested normally in a day to day life where shes not a Civil Servant or Something Like that. So fair enough. I suppose, know, enough. I suppose, you know, shes the right to free shes got the right to free speech. Suppose question speech. I suppose the question is not when you are is whether or not when you are representing to do with representing things to do with the raf , whether you need to the raf, whether you need to just just zip it a little the raf, whether you need to justjust zip it a little bit just just zip it a little bit and show a little bit more decorum. I think that sets it up is as it should be. In other words , you cut back in other words, you cut back and be careful if she wants to carry on with that role, then she needs to be careful what shes saying. On social media. And as far as the raf are concerned, i think eventually if she does carry on, theyre going to have to act. To have to act. Yeah, as she said, a couple of quite petulant, maybe things to Johnny Mercer and his wife. So Johnny Mercer , the veterans so Johnny Mercer, the veterans minister, it appeared that Carol Vorderman had teased him a bit, a bit mean about not having university degrees. It was seen as a little bit snobbish. I think, and that i thought was a little bit below the belt. And little bit below the belt. And maybe she needs to stop doing things like that. Maybe she needs to stop doing things like that. But what kind things like that. But what kind of person do you think should be in a role representing the raf . What kind of people were there in your day . What kind of ambassadorial positions were there really . There really . Well, its unusual to have an ambassador for with the rank of group captain. I agree. I dont i dont recollect one existing in my time. But once you take on in my time. But once you take on a role of that, i was formerly an ambassador for the Raf Benevolent Fund and so was my wife and again, when we went out talking about the fund, we were careful to just stick to the fund and what good they were doing for veterans and certain servicemen at the time. And you were always aware that you were there to promote what youre deaung there to promote what youre dealing with. And in her case, she is an ambassador for the Royal Air Force, but mainly for the air cadets. I think thats why she was selected to get the youngsters involved. And really youngsters involved. And really what shes doing on twitter is her political views, which are nothing to do with her ambassador role. I dont understand what the point is. I mean, action is to going have to be taken seriously. Maybe im missing something here. No doubt carol will point out me exactly what im out to me exactly what im missing twitter later on. But missing on twitter later on. But what on earth has she got to do with the raf . You know, air with the raf . Why, you know, air cadet ambassador, group cadet ambassador, Honorary Group captain. Back in captain. That was back in november yeah seriously, november 2014. Yeah seriously, maybe i am missing something now. People shouting now. Maybe people are shouting at on the radio at the tv screens, on the radio and theres something about Carol Vordermans past that i dont but but it just dont know. But but it just seems like a really odd appointment. I mean, you know, youd. Youd be great at it. Yeah, i think she was taken, remember, back in 2014, she was well known on television. And i think they felt that the youngsters would react to her. But its backfired badly now. But its backfired badly now. And i think it really does need something doing. Something doing. All right. Look, i really appreciate you coming on. Its great to chat to you. And i could talk to you all day, actually about some slightly less trivial matters. I suppose, than vorderman. Maybe than Carol Vorderman. Maybe next time. Next thats time. Maybe next time. Thats what discuss. Okay. What we will discuss. Okay. Thank very, very. You thank you. Very, very. Thank you very patrick grey lorry very much. Patrick grey lorry there. Squadron leader, former raf who indeed fly on raf pilot, who indeed did fly on the as well. Now its the royals as well. Now its time now for patricks pick of the this afternoon am the day. Yes this afternoon i am looking at you, harry and meghan. Yes. Well, earlier this yean meghan. Yes. Well, earlier this year, mocked by year, the couple were mocked by American South park, american tv cartoon south park, which an episode that which screened an episode that brilliantly entitled the worldwide privacy tour. And i mean that was absolutely hilarious. Non stop. I think hilarious. Non stop. I think many people thought absolutely down to a t, but another us series now family guy which is again another cartoon series has got stuck right into the sussexes just check this out. Ill go it alone. Just like Meghan Markle and prince harry. Sir, your millions from netflix for no one knows what put it with the rest of them babe babe time to do our daily 250,000 sponsored instagram for post del taco. Post del taco. Oh, i shouldnt have left the made up nonsense. Made up nonsense. Yeah, and thats about it, isnt it, really . I think that kind of sums about what it is, though. Is america turning against them . Clearly i mean, america clearly ridicules harry and meghan. I would suggest arguably more than maybe even we do over here, people whove been able to not get swept up in that big royal fanfare and that historic tie that many people in this country, most in this country, most people in this country, most people in this with this country probably had with prince harry, people just looking it an outsiders looking at it from an outsiders perspective now and thinking, you , is your of you know, is your version of reality actually the reality . And what seeing and thats what were seeing there, how on earth there, isnt it . How on earth can this couple who claim to stand for everything virtuous and good in the world continually just do things that are brand sponsored making are brand sponsored and making millions . As it was said millions . And as it was said there, goodness knows what, there, for goodness knows what, its a great life. If you can get it, though i wouldnt turn it down. Absolutely fantastic get it, though i wouldnt turn it dnyoure bsolutely fantastic get it, though i wouldnt turn it dnyoure making fantastic get it, though i wouldnt turn it dnyoure making aiantastic get it, though i wouldnt turn it dnyoure making a loaditic get it, though i wouldnt turn it dnyoure making a load of life youre making a load of money doing very, very money for doing very, very little. But no little. Yeah but but but if no ones taking you seriously, that i think will be really i think will be the really galling thing, especially for meghan. No ones taking you meghan. If no ones taking you seriously desperate , trying to seriously desperate, trying to come across as having real worth in this world and people thinking, thinking whether or not its true, thinking that maybe you are quite vacuous, that will be the thing that i think sticks in the craw a little bit. But moving on, labour leader, sir keir starmer is a growing backlash is facing a growing backlash over on israel and over his position on israel and gaza. Been accused of gaza. Hes been accused of gravely misrepresenting the nature of his visit to a mosque in wales last weekend. Im going in wales last weekend. Im going to be having a look at whether or not into gration has failed. Patrick christys gb news, britains news channel. Britains news channel. Hello again. Its Aidan Mcgivern here from the met office with the gb news forecast out. Its a dry afternoon out there for many of us, but further rain is coming along later followed by frequent showers overnight and during the next few days. Low pressure is sitting to the west at the moment. Other areas of low pressure are clearing to the east, so showers fading away from eastern areas, although staying damp in the east scotland. Then a gap in east of scotland. Then a gap in between leading between weather systems leading to fog across the to some mist and fog across the midlands. Anglia northern midlands. East anglia Northern Ireland. But further ireland overnight. But further spells arrive into spells of rain arrive into northern in the Northern Ireland, wales in the southwest dawn, southwest by dawn, disintegrating into showers and by the start of thursday, actually its misty , its grey actually its misty, its grey in many places and theres showery rain quite widely across the country. But having showery rain quite widely across the country. But having said that, it will be a relatively mild start to the day because of the cloud cover overnight. Now the cloud cover overnight. Now the gloom first thing does tend to lift. The low cloud rises and to lift. The low cloud rises and the mist and fog also tends to clear some brightness coming through across western parts by the afternoon. But it stays largely cloudy in the east and the north with spells of rain showers , some quite lively showers, some quite lively downpours towards the west and southwest and a mild afternoon with temperatures in places reaching 16 or 17 celsius. But the further spells of rain that well see across eastern parts continuing into friday could cause further issues for eastern scotland, given what we saw last week and elsewhere. Those week and elsewhere. Those frequent showers will be heavy at times and theyll continue into the weekend. Bye bye its £0. 04 pm. Its Patrick Christys is gb news and keir starmer has had an absolute nightmare at a mosque in wales. It provides a series of issues. The labour party is apparently eating itself alive over the gaza. Hamas, israel situation. Hes in emergency talks with some muslim mps, supposedly a load of labour councillors are kicking off or resigning and it also i think exposes some issues about this which is whether or not integration is really working in britain. At that working in britain. At that mosque was an imam who reportedly didnt speak any english, really couldnt read english, really couldnt read english, had no idea who the leader of the opposition and potentially the next Prime Minister is. How widespread is stuff like this and how well integrated are certain elements of some religious communities . Of some religious communities . Im also going to be talking about this story. Got a lot of people going. The senator has been barricaded. Okay. Ahead of anticipated additional protests. Anticipated additional protests. Its well, any day now, isnt it . There seems happening it . There seems to be happening every single day. You know, its coming up to memorial isnt coming up to memorial day, isnt it . Up to poppy day it . Its coming up to poppy day remembrance and Remembrance Day, all of this and is barricaded and you just is barricaded it. And you just think, is this how weve think, really, is this how weve fallen as a society . We will fallen as a society . We will also discussing this story as also be discussing this story as well. Well the world well. Yes. Well the world appears to have been laughing a little bit now at harry. You remember when was remember when there was the south episode that mocked south park episode that mocked him and meghan . Well, family guy, done absolute him and meghan . Well, family guy, onyne absolute him and meghan . Well, family guy, on them, absolute be number on them, so well be playing that clip to you very, very shortly. Patrick christys. Gb news yet loads on this hour. Gb news yet loads on this hour. Gb views gb news dot com. Make sure you get your emails coming in. I just want to know whether or not you feel that integration has worked as well as it could. Maybe, maybe people have to do a bit more to go out of their way for certain groups of people, do they . But keir starmer, i think, found way that not found out the hard way that not everything the everything is rosy in the garden. Vaiews gbnews. Com. But right polly you . Right now is polly with you . News. News. Patrick, thanks very much indeed. Well, our top story this hour from gb news, the first consignment of humanitarian aid from the uk to gaza is now on its way to egypt. The ministry of defence confirming an raf plane is carrying 21 tonnes of supplies, including medical equipment and water filters. The equipment and water filters. The government says stockpiles of wound care packs were donated by the department of health and the aid will be distributed through the egyptian red crescent. The egyptian red crescent. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister is refusing to support calls for a ceasefire in israel, despite pressure from more than 80 mps to do so. Instead rishi sunak is backing specific pauses in the conflict to allow for the Safe Delivery of aid to the territory. Five british people are among those still being held hostage in gaza. 200 more who are there. In gaza. 200 more who are there. The first and most important principle is that israel has the right to defend itself under international law. Our support for that position is absolute and unchanged. But from the start , we have also said that we start, we have also said that we do want british nationals to be able to leave gaza and that we want hostages for to be released and for humanitarian aid to get in. And we recognise that for all of that to happen, there has to be a safer environment, which of necessitates specific of course necessitates specific pauses as distinct from a ceasefire well, along with new airstrikes today, israel intensified its bombardment of gaza overnight night. The Israeli Military says it targeted hamas infrastructure , targeted hamas infrastructure, including a weapons stockpile. Including a weapons stockpile. The Palestinian Health ministry , the Palestinian Health ministry, which is run by hamas, says 600 756 people, including 344 children, have been killed in the last 24 hours. That brings their total to more than 6500 since october the 7th. The Israeli Defence force also says its navy spotted terrorists exiting a tunnel and moving onto a beach in the gaza strip. They were killed when they tried to enter israeli territory, swimming in by sea. Enter israeli territory, swimming in by sea. The un swimming in by sea. The un secretary general has rejected israels accusation that he justified the terror attacks carried out by hamas on october the seventh. Yesterday, Antonio Guterres told the Security Council its important to recognise the attacks by hamas didnt happen in a vacuum. Israels un ambassador condemned his speech as shocking and has called on guterres to resign. The uk government also criticised the comments, saying they were undiplomatic. Guterres they were undiplomatic. Guterres has defended his speech , saying has defended his speech, saying it has been misinterpreted and i am shocked by the misrepresentation by some of my statement yesterday in the Security Council as if as if i was justifying acts of terror by hamas. Hamas. This is false , as it was the this is false, as it was the opposite. It in the beginning of opposite. It in the beginning of my intervention yesterday, i clearly stated, and i quote , i clearly stated, and i quote, i have condemned unequivocally the horrifying and unprecedented. Horrifying and unprecedented. 7th october acts of terror by hamas in israel. Jose Antonio Guterres speaking there earlier. Now in news away from israel, a former South Wales Police officer has been jailed for life with a minimum term to serve of 12 years for Sexual Offences against children. Lewis edwards against children. Lewis edwards used fake social media accounts and posed as a teenager to groom more than 200 young girls online. He forced his victims to take indecent photographs of themselves using the material , themselves using the material, then to blackmail them in sentencing, the judge described his behaviour as cruel and sadistic and said he posed a dangerous risk to children. Head of the mets online investigation team, detective superintendent Tracey Rankin says the force was quick to respond on this day it was just devastating to know that that person was one of our own at the time of the offending and im really grateful of the swift nature that he failed to stop being a Police Officer because, you know, he was he was sacked , you know, he was he was sacked, which im really you know, that sends a very strong message that you know, we wont tolerate this sort of activity and behaviour. Sort of activity and behaviour. Meanwhile, two metropolitan Police Officers have been sacked after being found guilty of gross misconduct over the stop and search of two black athletes , ricardo dos santos and his partner Bianca Williams were stopped in their car in london in 2020. Nothing was found and no arrests were made , with the no arrests were made, with the pair publicly accusing the force of racism. Five officers were investigated. All of them denied investigated. All of them denied wrongdoing. But the panel upheld complaints against pc Jonathan Clapham and sam franks. Now, clapham and sam franks. Now, three people have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after londons wellington arch was vandalised and just stop. Oil posted a video of activists activists spraying orange paint on the grade one listed structure, which is almost 200 years old. They then set off their orange flares. The stunt was part of the groups Ongoing Campaign, demanding the government end new oil and gas contracts. Now, rishi sunak was contracts. Now, rishi sunak was quizzed on the cost of living crisis on his First Anniversary as Prime Minister the labour leader accused his government of crashing the economy highlights the case of a family whose mortgage went up by a quarter. The Prime Minister responded by saying his policy to cope with Rising Interest Rates is twice as generous as the opposition, which has a track record of u turns. But sir keir starmer u turns. But sir keir starmer says the recent by Election Results are a clear message from voters. This is gb news across voters. This is gb news across the uk on tv, in your car, on Digital Radio and on your Smart Speaker by saying play gb news this is britains news channel. This is britains news channel. Now we start with labour leader sir keir starmer , who is facing sir keir starmer, who is facing a growing backlash over his position on israel and gaza. He met muslim mps and peers this lunchtime after a significant number of councillors quit. At significant number of councillors quit. At the significant number of councillors quit. At the same time more than 150 muslim labour councillors have urged sir keir and ms rayner to back an immediate ceasefire in gaza. The leader of the opposition has also been accused after he went to a cardiff mosque at the weekend and been criticised as well. The south wales islamic well. The south Wales Islamic Centre accused sir keir of having gravely misrepresented the nature of his visit. Lets the nature of his visit. Lets speak now with our Political Correspondent olivia utley olivier. Thank you very much. So, so whats got keir starmer into this mess then . Into this mess then . Yeah , keir starmer finds yeah, keir starmer finds himself in a bit of a pickle now. A couple of weeks ago, he was being lauded by conservative mps and to some extent the rest of westminster on his behaviour at Party Conference and the behaviour of delegates there. He held a very, very firm line on israel and everyone i spoke to at labour Party Conference agreed with keir starmer on his very tough line on hamas. Well, that agreement seems to have fallen apart over the past couple of weeks. At the weekend, couple of weeks. At the weekend, keir starmer made some comments in a in a radio interview with nick ferrari of lbc saying and im paraphrasing a bit here that israel had the right to cut off the water supply to gaza. Now there was a huge , huge backlash there was a huge, huge backlash from that. And as you said in your introduction there, 25 labour councillors have now resigned. But the problem goes further than that. It now looks further than that. It now looks as though labour mps could be set to walk out and we could even see the resignation of one, at least one shadow minister. But the problem is of course that as well as mps being deeply concerned about the humanitarian situation in gaza, there is an electoral impact to Keir Starmers comments to muslim voters tend and obviously this is broad brush stroke to sway towards labour, but mps are worried that muslim votes, which are very , very important, they are very, very important, they could be the difference between winning and losing in 30 key seats. Labour could lose muslim seats. Labour could lose muslim votes as a result of Keir Starmers firm comments on israel. So now keir starmer is working out exactly what line to take does he double down and back israel to the hilt as he has done so far and as rishi sunak has done or does he give in to a bit of pressure from the left of the party and start equivocating thing . Yeah. So at the moment it centres around him. Absolutely not calling for a ceasefire. Right. So he doesnt call for a ceasefire at all. And this is, this is the major problem that there appears to be at the moment. Look, olivia, thank you very much. Everybody there gb news Political Correspondent news is Political Correspondent from westminster here. Yeah. So look, keir starmer was at the south Wales Islamic Centre over the weekend and he turned up with paparazzi with with photographers in tow. And he was putting tweets out saying , oh, putting tweets out saying, oh, look, its great to be here. We had some nice discussions. I reiterated calls for hostages to be released and for there to be a human petarian solution to all of this. And also talking about of this. And also talking about the idea that israel needs to continue due to keep electricity and water flowing into gaza to push for a two state solution anyway, then it all blows up big time because the imam there apparently who was , by the way, apparently who was, by the way, reduced to tears , reduced to reduced to tears, reduced to tears. But in a bad way, not out of joy, not like an Award Ceremony as a result of keir starmer turning up and then putting a tweet out alongside mark drakeford, who is copping it lot less than sir keir, it it a lot less than sir keir, it must be said, because he feels duped and he feels tricked. Im joined by the director of joined now by the director of the Islamic Information the oxford Islamic Information centre sheikh ramzi. Dr. Centre is dr. Sheikh ramzi. Dr. Sheikh thank you very, sheikh ramzi thank you very, very much. Is this a visible very much. Is this a visible sign that integration is not working in britain . We have an imam here who apparently cant speak english, cant read engush speak english, cant read english and doesnt know who the labour leader is. He could well be the future Prime Minister um, no, i dont think. Um, no, i dont think. Of course, the integration got anything to do with the integrate creation and cohesion. We are well well integrated. We are well well integrated. Of course, some of the imam, they come from the from the other countries. They are they are preaching, preaching there. Theyre their constituents. Theyre their constituents. And in the mosque. And they dont need to, for example, say, however, we cannot say we cannot bnng however, we cannot say we cannot bring that one for the integration 1 1 person to person. Maybe we got 100 or 1000 people which cannot properly speak english, but therefore. Yes. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. What about what about the integration . Okay, fine. Yes. Integration . Okay, fine. Yes. Theres another issue, of course, which is an imam in bradford shahid ali, who is on film saying that it is the duty of Muslim Leaders to fulfil jihad. They must carry out military action in this is taking place in a mosque. I dont think again, again, as i said, i dont think that how many ive spoken to you about four times in the last week. How many isolated examples are we going to have before it starts to look like maybe there might be a bit of an issue here . No, there is no issue. I dont think there is a issue unless the highest again said, is a law of sharia, law of islamic jurisprudence, which the highest must say, no matter how many times these little imam says that this says they are not going to work, they are not going to work, they are not going to work, they are not going to be jihad and the jihad, which they say is not holy. Which they say is not holy. Allow me to tell you we have no nothing called holy war. Holy war is a christian word. Holy war is a christian word. Holy war is a christian word. We have not. In islam there is no they called carry out no military action. They must carry out military action. Thats what he says. Action. Thats what he says. Thats what he is saying to a group of people at a mosque. Group of people at a mosque. Theres not not a problem. You must they must again , the you must they must again, the police must investigate in this once. Police must investigate in this once. I police must investigate in this once. I dont police must investigate in this once. I dont know about that. Once. I dont know about that. The police must investigate. And we say is a for example, he didnt know anything. What youre saying, he is just maybe got too excited. There are people. No, they cannot do. The jihad is impossible. The jihad is impossible. The jihad is impossible. And again, we are talking about the case. Dharma or jihad . Keir starmer when there and it was a mistake to go there. He didnt because he wasnt invited. Why was it a mistake . Why was it a mistake for the potential Prime Minister he was. He was not. He was not invited. And the people were very. No, if he was invited, they were heartbreak in of him because many of the many of the of course, people they were there. They they heard he says, no, you should you should stop the stop. Can i just ask dr. Sheikh . Dr. Sheikh. Dr. Sheikh. Right this is a guy who could be Prime Minister of this country in a years minister of this country in a years time. Um, and are you telling me that that its. That its offensive, that its offensive . The potential future offensive . The potential future Prime Minister of this country should be able to go and attend a mosque if he wants to without needing to be invited and have the red carpet rolled out. What is this people, the people has right. The people has a right in the mosque to express their opinion. They didnt like it. Simple as that. But what im telling you , that. But what im telling you, of course, is very, very important at the moment. We have a over a million muslim, which they give the labours and the keir starmer knows and the case tom moore has has to support them. And of course, keir starmer has to support the support the and the israel which which he will the israel will. One thing i have to tell you is in my heart supporting israel, saying israel will israel, saying israel will israel will decide who going to be Prime Minister in this country. Simple as is in my country. Simple as that is in my heart. And im saying it from my heart. And im saying it from my this is way how it goes. This is the way how it goes. This is the way we had the germany exactly what im germany is exactly what im talking about. Germany is exactly what im taliright . Out. Is a germany is exactly what im taliright . Out. Is a very right . Which is a very bizarre bar logic. Right . Which is a very bizarre bar logic. So youre bizarre bar logic. So youre youre saying what . That israel youre saying what . That israel you think israel is going to decide , but the effect. Decide, but the effect. Absolutely. Its my opinion. Absolutely. Its my opinion. Absolutely. Its my opinion. But the effect that we had, we saw the last time Jeremy Corbyn gone without respect. Of course, we dont respect love israel, love people of israel. Israel, love people of israel. Its a different thing, but its not. Im against him, but im saying they have no this is no, this is great. This is this is great leader of israeli. This country said if the Jeremy Corbyn come, i will take everybody as it goes out. Thats what he said. It is. It was the way which he said, but he wasnt right, because everybody loved the jews and everybody caring about jews, especially the government. I hope people are really drinking this in actually. So okay, so you think that the jews control well, who is Prime Minister in this country . Not the jews. Im saying, of course it is. The last course it is. It is. The last time i saw it is my thing, is my opinion. I saw the last time. This time they can have very effect. But of course, at the moment we can see can see the moment we can see we can see the trying to the keir starmer trying to the keir starmer trying to the keir starmer trying to please which side. This is what im seeing as, as as a as a as a as this is what im seeing as, as asaasaasaasa this is what im seeing as, as as a as a as a as a person. What im seeing as a person which you can see not as a man, not that whatever as a person, i can see they have you stay just out of interest. Do you say this kind of stuff at the oxford Islamic Information centre . No, dont say it. But of course i am saying you will say our national love. No, no, no. I love nothing. I love this. So behind closed. So behind closed you closed doors. Right . You, you wont say things that you say nothing. Many which many people know people might find that hard to believe doctor this is this is the thing. Just listen to me. People might find this quite hard to believe, okay . That behind closed doors is in the in the comfort of your own Islamic Information centre where there arent people watching like we have now you would say have here now that you would say things less things that were less controversial than what youve just said on National Television . No, i said its not a controversial. It is. It is a fact which i would like to say. I know, of course, may be hurt. I know, of course, may be hurt. I love the jews. I always said i love the jews. I love it. But you have to have a listen. We are human as well. We are these people are not animal. We are not the second rate citizen. We have to see. Of course, we care for them. We love the jews again, said all of us. We love the jews. We care for the. But you have to see us as well. We are 2. 5 million, 3 Million People muslim in this country has been has been just not just not have interest. Not have interest. You know. You know. You know how you know how you seem. You seem you seem quite convinced that that that israel choose who our political leaders are. Then did israel choose yousaf. Did israel choose humza yousaf. This is one of the opinion which i have ive i would have thought and im asking you, did they choose did they choose humza yousaf . No, maybe not. Humza yousaf . No, maybe not. They didnt choose. Maybe im they didnt choose. Maybe im mistaken. God bless all. I love all. Maybe im mistaken. Im saying here, maybe im mistaken. There is no problem. Maybe im there is no problem. Maybe im mistaken. But the keir starmer has to think about the us as well and think about the jews as well. Think about. But the best important thing, what we want to do is to bring a peace between two brothers, two cousins. This is the important thing. As said always love the jews and im saying it here and love the muslim and im saying love the christian, say. But what im saying it may be like that because he is trying to please the other one more than the pleasing the muslim. Of course pleasing the muslim. Of course we are care, care , care is we are care, care, care is important. Friendship is important, brother ship is important, brother ship is important. I important, brother ship is important. I love important, brother ship is important. I love them important, brother ship is important. I love them and i want to be ceasefire between them. I love to be twisted twisted solution. And maybe twisted solution. And maybe again i said i am wrong. Maybe im wrong. I said is my opinion. Maybe im wrong. Im wrong. I said is my opinion. Maybe im wrong. Im not im wrong. I said is my opinion. Maybe im wrong. Im not saying maybe im wrong. Im not saying im right, but of course keir starmer knows im not politician. But what im saying is this is a people thinking like this, thinking like this, and come arade dam, i must. Im very innocent. Saying not politically saying very innocently, saying and if anybody gets hurt. Yeah. All right. Okay, look. Yeah. All right. Okay, look. Do you think do you do you think very important . Do you think do you do you think very important . Okay. Yes. Do very important . Okay. Yes. Do you think that based on the conversation that weve had today, for example , which have today, for example, which have gone out there now, that people might be forgiven for being a little bit worried about whether or not there is a cesspit of anti semitic or anti jewish sentiment amongst certain elements of the British Muslim Community in certain mosques. Do you think that maybe, just maybe , there might be an issue there . I dont think so. One thing i tell you in my heart again said, i dont think so. We love jews. Everybody loves ipso, especially in this country. We are working together. Im working with the with the with the with the rabbi, rabbi mirvis. We are rabbi, rabbi mirvis. We are talking we are talking. We seen each other. We love each other. Im saying i will protect the muslim as i will protect the jews and in the heart. All right. And in the heart. I love them. But but of course , they say but but of course, they say saying is that said, look, after all and hopefully by the grace of god, the keir starmer are going to be love. See to see him as a Prime Minister i im i love to see him as a Prime Minister. What hes a good man, a strong man. But but i love to see the Prime Minister. There is no doubt about it. All right. All right, doctor, thank you very much. So well leave that there. Thank doctor sheikh ramsey. Thank you, doctor sheikh ramsey. Okay of the oxford okay of the of the oxford Islamic Information centre. Islamic information centre. Thats thank you thats fine. Yeah. Thank you very. Right. We have very much. Right. We have reached out to the labour party this afternoon to get their reaction to what happened at the mosque and also Keir Starmers meeting lunchtime mps meeting this lunchtime with mps and will of course and peers. There are growing fears of a widening conflict in the middle east. Were also going to be, of course, talking about the cenotaph being barricaded around in why that . In this country. Why is that . Whats on there as we gear whats going on there as we gear up for Remembrance Day now, patrick here on gb isabel monday to thursdays from. Six till 930. Right. Six till 930. Right. Welcome back. It is 4 26. Youre watching or listening to me. Patrick christys on gb news in a few minutes, i will tell you about the man in pakistan whos headed up a huge fraud operation thats claimed thousands of british victims will be giving you a couple of tips about to how how to spot some fraud there and help keep your money but i will also your money safe. But i will also tell you the american tell you about the american cartoon series is mocking cartoon series that is mocking harry eclectic harry and meghan. An eclectic mix your now to mix coming your way. But now to matters much more serious. And lets get an update this lets get an update on this ongoing between ongoing diplomatic row between the and israel. The United Nations and israel. So fill you in, the uns so to fill you in, the uns general secretary, jose Antonio Gutierrez, has hit back at what he called the misrepresentation of his comments about the israel hamas war in which he said that the palestinians have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation. This led to israel accusing him of effectively condoning hamass massacre. Over 1000 israeli civilians. And here is what he civilians. And here is what he actually had to say about the criticism thats now being aimed at him. At him. I am shocked by the misrepresentations by some of my statement yesterday in the Security Council as if as if i was just defying acts of terror by hamas. This is false. It was by hamas. This is false. It was the opposite. The opposite. It claims that up then over to tel aviv. Now speak to our security editor, mark white. Mark, thank you very much. So yes, a massive diplomatic row taking place over there at the moment. The United Nations talk of being expelled from the of them being expelled from the country sorts stuff. Country and all sorts of stuff. Whats going on . Yeah, i think israeli officials are saying just stop digging. Secretary general, that his comments were clear enough yesterday in terms of what he said. The fact that he spoke about palestinians having had to suffer 56 years of suffocating occupation in that also their land was being stolen effectively by the settlers over the years , and they were being the years, and they were being subjected to significant levels of violence. It has deeply damaged relations lines between israel and the United Nations, which are fractious at the best of times. But at a time of course, when the un really has to cooperate with israel to try to cooperate with israel to try to get the likes of aid supplies into gaza, where it is badly needed at the moment. Ive been needed at the moment. Ive been taking a look back at the latest developments on day 19 of the war against hamas. Developments on day 19 of the war against hamas. Just hours war against hamas. Just hours after the un secretary general called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in gaza , humanitarian ceasefire in gaza, this was israels response is a further intensified action of air strikes against what israel says were hamas positions , says were hamas positions, including command and control compounds, Ammunition Stores and rocket launchers. But with many rocket launchers. But with many of those hamas positions right in the centre of residential areas , the toll on gazas areas, the toll on gazas civilians is enormous. The attack , muhammad the the attack, muhammad the hamas controlled Health Ministry , claimed more than 700 died in the latest round of israeli strikes , dismissing the strikes, dismissing the secretary generals call for a ceasefire, israel said it had no intention of easing up on its operation to destroy hamas and there is no widespread anger across israel after Antonio Guterres went on to say that although there was no justification for the attacks on the 7th of october, they did not occur, he said. In a vacuum , the palestinian in a vacuum, the Palestinian People have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation. Years of suffocating occupation. They have seen their land steadily devoured by settlements and plagued by violence. Their economy is stifled, their people displaced and their homes demolished. I think that the secretary general must resign because from now on, every day that he is here in this building, unless he apologises, is immediately today we called him to apologise and there is no justification to the existence of this building. Of this building. There are growing fears here of a widening regional conflict. The head of the Hezbollah Terror Group in lebanon has met leaders from hamas and Islamic Jihad , from hamas and Islamic Jihad, pledging support for a resistance axis against israel, which would include help from iran and syria. The these iran and syria. The these unverified images claim to show the aftermath of an israeli strike on Syrian Military positions overnight, which the idf said had been launching rockets into israel. Syrian Authorities Say eight of their soldiers were killed and seven injured and in another serious incident , israel said it killed incident, israel said it killed a group of Hamas Terrorists trying to reach israel by sea to launch an attack in a Community North of gaza. It came on the north of gaza. It came on the back of the largest rocket barrage into Central Israel since the 7th of october attacks. This across tel aviv , attacks. This across tel aviv, people ran for shelters as iron dome Missile Defence systems intercepted multiple hamas rockets and one struck a Community North east of tel aviv, badly damaging a property. Aviv, badly damaging a property. With many more burials. In israel and in gaza. Any thoughts of a ceasefire in this conflict must seem a very long way. Off must seem a very long way. Off well, there have been more clashes with lebanon on the border there with these hezbollah fighters. There have hezbollah fighters. There have been more rockets fired into israel today, not as intense as the rocket barrages yesterday. The rocket barrages yesterday. And on a more optimistic note, perhaps the qatari government saying that it is at an advanced stage with some more negotiations which will hopefully result in the release of some more hostages in the coming days. Mark, thank you very, very much. Mark white, there are security editor who is in tel aviv for us with the latest. Now, loads more still to come between now and five. With less than weeks go to than three weeks to go to remembrance sunday, i will discuss decision to put discuss the decision to put barriers around the cenotaph. Barriers up around the cenotaph. But isolated headlines. But first, isolated headlines. Were middlehurst. Were polly middlehurst. Patrick, thank you. The top stories this hour, the first load of humanitarian aid from the uk to gaza is on its way to egypt. The ministry of defence confirming an raf plane is carrying 21 tonnes of supplies, including medical equipment and water filters. A former south water filters. A former South Wales Police officer has been jailed for life with a minimum term to serve of 12 years for Sexual Offences against children. Lewis edwards used fake social media accounts and posed as a teenager to groom more than 200 young girls online one and two metropolitan Police Officers have been sacked after being found guilty of gross misconduct over the stop and search of two black athletes. Search of two black athletes. Ricardo santos and his partner Bianca Williams, were stopped in their car in london in 2020. The pair publicly accused the force of racism. The panel upheld complaints against pcs. Jonathan clapham and sam franks. Those clapham and sam franks. Those are your top stories. More on all of them by heading to our website, gbnews. Com. Website, gb news. Com. Well, website, gbnews. Com. Well, a man in pakistan has been exposed as the head of a huge fraud operation that scammed thousands of brits. Ahmed safa has and his team have been getting access to peoples oh two accounts before ordering mobile phones, other expensive equipment. Mobile phones, other expensive equipment. But theres loads to this. Okay and i know that a lot of people very easily, its easily done. Fall victim to easily done. Fall victim to scammers to fraudster. Et scammers to fraudster. Et cetera. Im joined now by james ball, who is a Cyber Security expert. James, thank you very, expert. James, thank you very, very much. So could you explain a little bit about about how this kind of thing can be done and what telltale signs people can look out for to ensure it doesnt happen to them . So in this particular case, it was asking for a otp, a one time password or a one time code that was sent through and that was then used to access peoples accounts. So essentially the scammers in question were phoning people all claiming they were from o2 and there was some offer and they would send through a code if they read out that code, theyll set up the offer. One of the standard here is a promise thats a bit too good to be true. Be true. Give us the code and well get it for you. That code then allowed them to reset passwords on accounts and gain access to them and order various devices to be sent to the scammers to then be resold. Then be resold. Yeah. And it is easy to fall for stuff like this. Say fall for stuff like this. Say fall for it to be snared is a better word because you know, fall for it implies that people are you know, idiots really, and theyre not at all. It happens to loads of people and can often of people and it can often happen to people of a certain age demographic as well. Lets be honest. You know, scammers can who are more , can target people who are more, be more likely to be less tech savvy. That is a big problem. So if people think that they might have been taken in by this guy or others, what can they what can they really do about that . Calling action fraud to so calling action fraud to report it is a good first step. That is the official reporting line. There are also other places you can go. It may be worth talking to local police. Theres also the cyber helpline and similar programs where you can contact them for advice as an individual if you believe this type of thing might have happened to you. Okay all right. My concern is that it appears to be quite easy to do because people try to recreate, dont they . Things recreate, dont they . Things like the o2 recreate, dont they . Things like the 02 website , spot on or like the 02 website, spot on or email addresses and it looks genuine. A text message that comes onto your phone. I get it. So im actually with o2. Comes onto your phone. I get it. So im actually with 02. So i get genuine messages from o2 get genuine messages from 02 about what my bill is every month and i get other messages saying , oh, weve had some issue saying, oh, weve had some issue on your phone. If you type in this code, go to this website, follow this link. And i know that thats rubbish, right . Because really want to get because they really want to get a theyll call me or a hold of me. Theyll call me or theyll a way theyll theyll find a way or theyll write to or something and write to me or something and i would leave it and leave it and leave it. But, they are very leave it. But, but they are very convincing people arent convincing these people arent they. They arent. Be very convincing they can be very convincing and all it takes is a moment of inattention on. One thing to remember you receive remember is any time you receive a code, if that hasnt from a code, if that hasnt come from something have done something you have done yourself, then it should immediately be suspect. So if immediately be suspect. So if you receive a code and someones on the phone saying read it out or an email saying, just send it to us, you should immediately be asking questions and not send it. Its only if you have done something to generate these codes that you should be giving them to anyone. Yeah exactly. Apparently 17 of all scams, all scams begin with a phone call or a text and, you know, it is something that people really, really, really need to watch out for. And i will say this as well, by the way, i know there are a lot of people of a certain age who are incredibly technologically astute. Im not trying to tar everyone with the same brush here at all. But if you do have elderly relatives, youve really got to keep an eye on them. Sometimes you seriously do when it comes to this of do when it comes to this kind of stuff. And just check out what what kind of things are they getting involved with online . What kind of things are they gett know, volved with online . What kind of things are they gett know, what with online . What kind of things are they gett know, what kind online . What kind of things are they gett know, what kind or messages, you know, what kind of messages, because dont they because people also dont they can uke because people also dont they can like online can access things like online bingo chat rooms. And also theyre everywhere. These people, arent they . People, arent they . Yeah, its an industry. Its a business. And people are making enough money off it and safely enough that are safely enough that they are treating a business. So treating it as a business. So they are everywhere and they will every opportunity they will use every opportunity they can indeed. Look. Thank you very much. Great to have you on the show, james. And ill talk to you again very, very soon. If james ball, there is signpost security expert. I just wanted to bring you that this chap who denies all by the all these allegations, by the way, stands accused of being part massive part of some kind of massive fraud based in a fraud operation based in a completely different country based that based in pakistan that is targeting phones targeting people with o2 phones in this country. It is very in this country. And it is very easily, easily done. Watch easily, easily done. So watch out there. A couple of out out there. Just a couple of emails now. Gb views gb news. Emails now. Gb views at gb news. Com going to be talking com im going to be talking about shortly as we about the cenotaph shortly as we gear for Remembrance Day. So gear up for Remembrance Day. So a way but as a a little way off, but as a veteran says sigh, i question the for barriers around the the need for barriers around the cenotaph. He says that if cenotaph. He says that if certain protesters disrespect the sacred monument, then maybe they dont understand what it really means to be in this country thats size view there. Im going to be talking about the cenotaph when i come back because thats a really important topic i think for us. And it is in Central London, but its a memorial to all those brave people from the brave people from all over the country have the country who have made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their for our nation. Their lives for our nation. So what it say about the state what does it say about the state of modern day britain . Do we think that there are now secure barriers around it . A stage was placed next to the cenotaph dunng placed next to the cenotaph during the recent pro palestine protest as well. Lets speak to our london reporter lisa, who is available for us now. Lisa, thank you very, very much. I can thank you very, very much. I can see the cenotaph behind you there. Weve got some barriers behind it. Whats going on . Whats the whats the story here . So the barriers that you can see there, the ones we often see at public events, theyre about waist high. I spoke to some of the police that are working in the police that are working in the area and they said that this is common place. So every time there large public event or there is a large public event or a these are erected so a protest, these are erected so that protects the cenotaph that it protects the cenotaph and other monuments around london. Said these ones are london. They said these ones are in place because there are more protests planned for this weekend theres just up weekend. Theres such as just up oil as well as protests over the conflict and as we remember last weekend, there was protest held here and there was a stage that was erected next to the cenotaph. And this upset, obviously, a lot of people because the cenotaph is sacred ground. Its where people come to pay their respects to the fallen. Johnny mercer, the veterans minister, also a veteran himself, he said on social media that he understood the hurt caused by having the stage there so close to the cenotaph and that he was going to speak to the home secretary and the met police to ensure that doesnt happen again. Then, met again. Since then, the met police have come out and said that planned for this that protests planned for this weekend deferred no weekend that will be deferred no stage anywhere near the cenotaph. And of course, this prevents measure is place as prevents measure is in place as we count down to remembrance sunday next month. Sunday next month. Lisa, thank you very, very much. Lisa hartle there gb news this london report. So a little bit more on that story later on in the show now. Yes well, a predatory Police Officer who got more than 200 young girls to send him degrading pictures and videos of themselves over snapchat. Chat has received 39 snapchat. Chat has received 39 life sentences as well get more on that case very shortly. Patrick christys here on gb news. Britains the Camilla Tominey show sunday mornings from 930 on. Gb news as. Who is it . Gb news as. Who is it . Gb news as. Who is it . Were here for the show. For energy. This time. This time. This time. Welcome to the dinosaur hour. Welcome to the dinosaur hour. I was married to a therapist. I was married to a therapist. And you survived. And you survived. And you survived. I thought we were getting hugh, laurie, zach and best man. At least you interviewed saddam hussein. Whats that like . Hussein. Whats that like . I was terrified. I was terrified. Im playing strip poker with these three. Oh, no, thank you. My cds need to be put in alphabetical order. Oh, are you going to be problematic again . The dinosaur. Our sundays at 9 00 on gb news. Whos. Welcome back. 4 46. Youre watching or listening to me . Patrick christys on gb news. Now, in a few moments time, i will tell you why harry and meghan are being mocked again. And later in the show, ill tell you about a sharp fall in the amount of meat that were eating. Are the vegans winning, i wonder . But much serious matters now much more serious matters now because former south wales because a former South Wales Police Lewis Edwards, Police Officer, Lewis Edwards, has been given 13 life sentences for Sexual Offences against children. John edwards posed as children. John edwards posed as a teenager on social media to groom and blackmail more than 200 young people on line. Lets cross to Cardiff Crown court now and speak to our reporter jack carson, who has the latest. Jack yeah , good afternoon, patrick. Yeah, good afternoon, patrick. So earlier this morning, 24 year old Lewis Edwards was, as you mentioned, given those life sentences , he will they will all sentences, he will they will all be served. Of course, concurrently with the other sentences that he will serve for the over 100 child sex offences that he pleaded guilty to a few months ago. 210 girls were incited by edwards into sending him images of them performing sexual acts on themselves. It sexual acts on themselves. It happened over a three year penod happened over a three year period from november 2020 to february 2023, when he was arrested still then a serving South Wales Police officer. He South Wales Police officer. He was then sacked following a misconduct hearing. He often masqueraded himself as a 14 year old boy. As someone that these girls knew and then secretly recorded the split explicit content. He was they were he was getting them to send them before then, going on to blackmail them. If they decided that they didnt want to send any more. In one case, this court heard at the three day hearing this week, one incident with one of his victims was that she felt like she couldnt to school she couldnt go to school because she that frightened because she was that frightened of missing of his requests of missing one of his requests for an image or for a video that when from school, when she got home from school, she out that edwards she would find out that edwards had leaked to her had leaked that image to her family friends, family or her friends, sentencing mr edwards today, judge tracy lloyd said that the defendant had a pattern of behaviour. Said that he behaviour. She said that he groomed his victims psychologically manipulating them he had gained control them until he had gained control over she said that even over them. She said that even when in the examples we heard this week, when victims were crying, when they were distressed, when they were begging stop the begging him to stop the defendant not stop even in defendant did not stop even in some circumstances. When owen edwards was told by one of his victims that they were self harming, that they were suicidal, edwards was told that specific victim that other girls hed done this to had also committed suicide. So he didnt care if she committed suicide. But this case was very, very complex, not only because, of course, there were 4500 images that were found at 700 of those, a category a, that means those images involved penetrative sexual activity. But speaking to gb news, detective superintendent tracy rankin detailed the sophisticated and organised fashion of the computer networks. Edwards had you or i might have an ipad or a laptop with our, you know, family photos , graphs on there, family photos, graphs on there, saved under folder names. Saved under folder names. So there were devices there. So mobile phones, there were laptops and other computers. There were separate hard drives as well. But the way that everything was networked at the scene was it wasnt as simple as just unplugging everything and taking away to our labs for examination, because there was a degree of sophistication and encryption in that if you did that, it would have wiped everything. So we would have lost the evidence that we were seeking. So, you know, the seeking. So, you know, the specialists and the experts from our Digital Forensics unit, they built the appropriate software and technology in order to download everything in situ so that we wouldnt lose any evidence that there was a file directories where they had numbers next to the folders, which was indicative of ages that would suggest that the contents of those folders would include imagery of that age parameter as well. So there was a of organisation and a degree of organisation and filing of those images and videos as well , as well as of videos as well, as well as of course the detail of the request sheets and the images that edwards was receiving from these children. We also of course, had the impact from not only some of the victims who themselves spoke in court this week, but also from the families as well. One of the victims of edwards said said, i thought it was all my fault, she said. It was like i was his property. A mother of one of the victims told the court that she felt edwards had taken away felt that edwards had taken away her daughters innocence. She she she felt like i was she said she felt like i was living in a nightmare. She said, we will never forgive you and we feel you than feel nothing for you other than hate another victim added that you are supposed to able to be able to trust the police, but the police did this to me. Now South Wales Police have released, of course, a statement on the back. Of course, this sentencing today. They say that our number one priority is to protect the public. So if anyone has any information around the safety or vulnerable safety of young or Vulnerable People pose a risk people or those who pose a risk in society, then i urge them in our society, then i urge them to come fonnard and report it to us and snapchat, of course, the social media platform that most of this grooming and blackmail was place also was taking place on. Also released a Statement Today saying that any Sexual Exploitation of young people is abhorrent and illegal. And our hearts go out the victims in hearts go out to the victims in this say they work in this case. They say they work in multiple to detect and multiple ways to detect and prevent this kind of abuse , prevent this kind of abuse, including the cutting edge detection they detection technology. And they work Police Support work with police to support investigations and include that they have extra protections for under 18 seconds. Jack , thank you very much. Jack, thank you very much. Jack carson is reporting to us from , um, outside Cardiff Crown from, um, outside Cardiff Crown court in that i think we can all agree just incredibly distressing and concerning case. It does make you wonder, though, it does make you wonder, though, i dont know about you, but it certainly does for me. Is anyone safe on these phones, especially young people out there . There just appears to be so many predators willing to use these apps, you know, to go after people and ensnare them. And just the regularity with it is absolute. Absolutely. Absolute. Absolutely. Absolutely. Isnt it . Absolutely. Bonkers, isnt it . But yeah, 13 life sentences anyway , for that guy who had anyway, for that guy who had even threatened to bomb somewhere as well as part of all of this, 200 young girls on onune of this, 200 young girls on online as well bombed one of his victims houses he threatened to do and people being driven to all sorts of mental problems as all sorts of mental problems as a result of it. Just absolutely shocking stuff. But gosh. All shocking stuff. But gosh. All right. Okay. Well, look, were to going finish the hour with something little bit something a little bit different. To say different. Its fair to Say Something certainly shift in something certainly a shift in tone. Now its time for tone. Now its time for patricks pick of the day. And tone. Now its time for patr afternoon, i am lookingd this afternoon, i am looking a little bit at harry and meghan because earlier this year, the couple mocked by american couple were mocked by american tv south park , which tv cartoon south park, which screened an episode of brilliantly entitled the worldwide privacy tour. Now we all remember that , dont they all remember that, dont they were standing there demanding their on. Good their privacy going on. Good morning, canada. I think it was talking about how they needed their privacy and all of that. And then at the end of it, harrys character or the character bore a very character that bore a very strong to prince strong resemblance to prince harry opened up the harry anyway, opened up the mouth of the character that i think appeared to bear a striking resemblance to Meghan Markle striking resemblance to meghan marinothing in there, nothing in was nothing in there, nothing in there. But now another us cartoon , family guy has cartoon series, family guy has also got stuck in to the sussexes check this out and ill go it alone. Go it alone. Just like Meghan Markle and prince harry, sir your millions from netflix for no one knows what put it with the rest of them babe time to do. Our daily them babe time to do. I mean, i think that summarises it. I wonder whether or not they realise that now people on either side of the atlantic appear anyway to be poking fun at them for not necessarily actually doing a huge amount. But there we go. That is family but there we go. That is family guys interpreted version of harry and meghan. Now the cenotaph in Central London is a memorial to the brave men and women who have lost their lives while fighting for that country. Well, the first consignment of humanitarian aid from the uk to gaza is now on its way to egypt. The ministry of defence confirmed arming an raf plane is currently carrying 21 tonnes of suppues currently carrying 21 tonnes of supplies , including medical supplies, including medical equipment and water filters. The government says stockpiles of wound care packs were donated by the department of health. The aid will be distributed through the egyptian red cross current. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister is refusing to support calls for a ceasefire in the region, despite pressure from more than 80 mps to do so. Instead rishi sunak is backing specific pauses in the conflict to allow for the Safe Delivery of aid to the territory. Five british people are among more than 200 still being held hostage in gaza. For being held hostage in gaza. For the first and most important principle is that israel has the right to defend itself under international law. Our support for that position is absolute and unchanged. But from the start, we have also said that we do want british nationals to be able to leave gaza and that we want hostages to be released and for humanitarian aid to get in. And we recognise that for all of that to happen, there has to be a safer environment which of course necessitates specific pauses as distinct from a ceasefire well, the un secretary general has rejected israels accusation that he justified the terror attacks carried out by Terror Group Hamas on october the seventh. Yesterday, Antonio Guterres told the Security Council it was important to recognise the attacks by hamas did not happen in a vacuum. Well in response to that, israels un ambassador condemned his speech as shocking and called on guterres to resign , or the uk government also criticised the comments, saying they were under diplomatic. Guterres has defended his speech, saying it has been missing, interpreted. Missing, interpreted. I am shocked by the misrepresentations by some of my statement yesterday in the Security Council as if as if i was justifying acts of terror by hamas. This is false. It was the hamas. This is false. It was the opposite in the beginning of my intervention yesterday. I clearly stated and i quote, i have condemned unequivocally the horrifying and unprecedented. Horrifying and unprecedented. 7th october acts of terror by hamas in israel. Well, it news here at home. Youre with gb news across the uk on tv, in your car, on Digital Radio and on your Smart Speaker by saying play gb news this is britains news channel. This is britains news channel. Well , our this is britains news channel. Well, our top story this hour say so much about the state of modern britain. The cenotaph in modern britain. The cenotaph in Central London is a memorial to all those brave people who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives for our country so we could have the kind of freedoms that too all often are expressed on that same road as the cenotaph, arent they . With protests and demonstrations, etcetera. Sad is it that etcetera. So how sad is it that we are now shut shoving it behind security barriers . I mean, its amid fears that it will be vandalised ahead of remembrance sunday. Why would you vandalise a memorial to the war dead . It comes after a stage was placed next to the cenotaph dunng was placed next to the cenotaph during a recent pro palestine protest. Lets speak to our london reporter lisa hartle just to get the latest from the actual scene. Now. Lisa, thank you very much. So, okay, we have got some barriers around that. What what are people worried about then . Whats going on . So the barriers around the cenotaph are about waist high. Theyre the ones that we usually see at public events. When i got here, i asked police that are working in the area why there were around the cenotaph and they said theyre there to protect of protests. Protect it ahead of protests. This this weekend, some those this this weekend, some of those protests are to do with the conflict, but also for protest planned by people like organiser like just up oil and they said that this has come in place, not only for protests but also on nights like new years eve, whenever theres going to be a lot of people in the area. And you spoke about that stage that was erected last weekend and the veterans minister, Johnny Mercer , whos also a veteran himself, he said on social media after that that he understood why people were hurt and that he was going to talk to the home secretary and the met police to ensure that happen ensure that that doesnt happen again. Then, the police again. Since. Then, the police have come out and said , indeed, have come out and said, indeed, this weekend the stage will definitely not be anywhere near the cenotaph. And of course, all the cenotaph. And of course, all of this comes ahead of remembrance sunday, which weve got coming up in just a few weeks. So these preventative measures are in place leading up to that. To that. Yeah, absolutely. Lisa, thank you. To you you very much. Great to have you right the top of this hour. Right at the top of this hour. Thats hartle there is that thats lisa hartle there is that the cenotaph for us . Were sitting havent the cenotaph for us . Were sitt really . Havent the cenotaph for us . Were sitt really . Its havent the cenotaph for us . Were sitt really . Its not havent the cenotaph for us . Were sitt really . Its not just havent the cenotaph for us . Were sitt really . Its not just itsent we really . Its not just its not the cenotaph in london. Not just the cenotaph in london. Thats most visible thats probably the most visible symbol, isnt it . Really Winston Churchill statue, i think is another visible but another very visible one. But joining now discuss this joining me now to discuss this is defence analyst, former army officer, Lieutenant Colonel stuart crawford. Thank you very much. Think it says much. What do you think it says about modern britain that we have to fence off a memorial to about modern britain that we hav fallen nce off a memorial to about modern britain that we hav Fallen Heroes a memorial to about modern britain that we hav Fallen Heroes so nemorial to about modern britain that we hav Fallen Heroes so thatorial to our Fallen Heroes so that a protester demonstrates an might not vandalise it . Good evening, patrick. I think the quick answer is its a combination of ignorance and disrespect and youve concentrated on the cenotaph in london, im sorry to say, that vandalism of various War Memorials occurs all around the uk, including my home village in lanarkshire, where the plaque to those who died in the first and Second World Wars was sold and was stolen and sold for scrap. Not so many years ago. So its indicative of the fact of a country which appears to be losing touch with its past and is more concerned about liberties today. Now, im all for liberties and freedom of speech, but there does come a point when we have to respect the those who have made the sacrifice , as you have said, and sacrifice, as you have said, and the cenotaph commemorates over a million war dead in Second World War and the first world war, and also 70,000 civilian ones who lost their lives mainly during the blitz in the Second World War in london, liverpool , war in london, liverpool, glasgow and other cities. So i think really weve got to get a grip of ourselves and can i just say before everybody piles in and says, well, its you know, its the uneducated lower classes doing this, its not that long ago that the eton educated son of a major british pp educated son of a major british pop star was in court for hanging off one of the flags in the cenotaph during demonstration. No, its absolutely true. And regrettably , i dont think it is regrettably, i dont think it is just your kind of idiotic individuals these days. I think there are a lot of so called academics who condone this kind of behaviour as well. Do you think that we have forgotten the sacrifice that people have made before and now we get caught up on, frankly , a lot of issues on, frankly, a lot of issues that have very little to do with us in this country. It seems to rampage their way across different streets, most notably there in whitehall in london, just desecrating everything thats before them. I dont thats come before them. I dont think weve forgotten as a nafion think weve forgotten as a nation yet, but i think were in the throes of forgetting as sadly, the general nation that fought in the Second World War is beginning to fade away all too rapidly. Too rapidly. Unfortunately. But also the unfortunately. But also the cenotaph does represent and commemorate those who have lost their lives in wars that britain has fought since 1945. Korea to the falklands, afghanis , iran, the falklands, afghanis, iran, iraq and so on. And so forth, and academic are very good at trying to take an objective view. Academia is full of generals ,. Academia is full of generals, people who lean to the left, which is fine. But i think that their ideology is getting in the way of what i would call correct behaviour when it comes to respecting those. Surely, surely, though surely , though even the most hardened political activist would recognise would have to recognise would have to recognise that desecrating the cenotaph would turn the vast majority of brits against you. Majority of brits against you. Well, i dont think they do patriot and you know, the same appues patriot and you know, the same applies to the idiots from Just Stop Oil that that spray things with orange and red paint. Stop oil that that spray things with orange and red paint. They with orange and red paint. They just dont seem to realise that its counterproductive when Just Stop Oil started their protests there was quite a big swathe of what i would call middle uk , what i would call middle uk, which was sympathetic to their ideals and ideas. But because of ideals and ideas. But because of the subsequent actions , stopping the subsequent actions, stopping the subsequent actions, stopping the traffic desecrate ing various monuments and buildings , various monuments and buildings, they have turned off that part of the population which might othennise have supported them. Othennise have supported them. And stupid of them and thats very stupid of them and counterproductive for their agenda. But would you say to the but what would you say to the metropolitan Police Officers whove it whove absolutely copped it recently met recently, not just the met police, but actually Police Forces down the country . Forces up and down the country . I sometimes they have i think sometimes they have a really, really time it. Really, really hard time of it. Okay i dont to dig okay and i dont want to dig everybody they have to walk everybody out. They have to walk headfirst into some of the most dangerous, often disgusting situations that one can ever imagine with. And imagine being involved with. And they amount of they deserve a huge amount of credit and they are credit for that. And they are not, view, enough not, in my view, paid enough money with it. However money to deal with it. However when see some people on the when we see some people on the streets shouting about jihad when we see some people on the streets shouting aboutjihad or streets shouting about jihad or talking banners of muslim talking under banners of muslim armies or in some cases potentially damaging and committing criminal damage at a memorial to the war dead should they go straight in there, do you think . Should people get you think . Should people get lifted straight away . Should they care maybe about some they care less maybe about some of the sensitivities surrounding those of people . Those groups of people . Well, like you, patrick, im a great fan of britains police and very supportive of everything they do. And i do understand that its a difficult job. And sometimes theyve got to act with sensitivity to the various feelings being expressed by who have the absolute by people who have the absolute right to participate in the lawful protests, peaceful protests and freedom of speech. Protests and freedom of speech. But i do think that in the circumstances which youve just spoken about, people calling for jihad and death to jewish people, i think the kid gloves have got to come off. And you only have to look across to france and germany to see how they deal with those protests. And maybe we could take a bit of a lead from them. Yeah. What would you say to people say some people who say that some memorials or statues. So youve got cenotaph there not too got the cenotaph there not too far from it. Youve far away from it. Youve got winston youve Winston Churchill. Youve mentioned there that towns mentioned there that in towns and cities right across the country, there are memorials and there are statues. What do you say to people who say a lot of these glorify a bygone era where britain was at its worst and there was empire and posh people were Army Officers who were sending class over sending the working class over the top to certain death. And we were dying for nothing , you were dying for nothing, you know, because aristocrats were fighting over plots of land in europe. And thats what it europe. And thats what it really stands for. What do you say to those people . Well , first of all, i would well, first of all, i would say that shoes, which well, first of all, i would say tput shoes, which well, first of all, i would say tput up shoes, which well, first of all, i would say tput up in shoes, which well, first of all, i would say tput up in shoestimesh well, first of all, i would say tput up in shoestimes , are were put up in those times, are there a reminder of where we there as a reminder of where we were historically and desecrating them or knocking them down or putting them into museums doesnt change what history tells us. And when it comes to the nonsense about posh officers sending their men over the top to certain death , the top to certain death, particularly in the first world war, i only point out the casualty rate amongst Junior Officers during that conflict is absolutely horrendous because they led their men over the top. They didnt send them. Very interesting. And i very interesting. And i think, you know, the phrase , think, you know, the phrase, lest we forget, is something that i worry falls on deaf ears all too often. You know, im all for protest. Im for all freedom of speech. Im for all obviously, you know, the democratic rights have got to make your voice heard and whatever cause that is, however niche, however, over international in scope, it is okay. Thats one of the things that makes britain great. But i cant help but feel as though some people need to appreciate the irony here that you know, certainly when it comes to people like Winston Churchill certainly when it comes to peopleor e Winston Churchill certainly when it comes to peopleor theiinston churchill certainly when it comes to peopleor the statue churchill certainly when it comes to peopleor the statue to urchill certainly when it comes to peopleor the statue to urchwar statue or the statue to the war dead, think you quite dead, you think you quite possibly not have the possibly would not have the right the ability to be able right or the ability to be able to go and make your voice heard in that you are doing in the way that you are doing right in this country. If it right now in this country. If it wasnt those people that wasnt for those people that laid down their actually laid down their lives actually you and theres quite you wouldnt. And theres quite possibly of other possibly a load of other countries in the world you countries in the world where you still people still wouldnt. So maybe people should little think about should have a little think about that up, no doubt for that as we gear up, no doubt for another of evenings and another series of evenings and a weekend of yet more protests. Another series of evenings and a wee becominget more protests. Another series of evenings and a wee becoming like re protests. Another series of evenings and a wee becoming like someytests. Another series of evenings and a wee becoming like someytests of its becoming like some kind of festival of hate on the streets. But now in the course the programme weve course of the programme weve been reporting on how sir keir starmer come under criticism starmer has come under criticism from members own from muslim members of his own party right a number of muslim party right . A number of Muslim Councillors have resigned from labour over sir keirs position on the israel hamas conflict. They say that he should have called for an immediate ceasefire rather than back israels military response. Theres also controversy over the labour leaders visit to a mosque in wales over the weekend. Staff there believed that he used the visit as a publicity stunt. Well, keir starmer has stunt. Well, keir starmer has tweeted his position on this in the past hour and in it he has called for more aid and essential utilities to get into gaza to meet the humanitarian emergency on the ground. He goes on to say, and im quoting now, in the long term, that can only be a political solution to this crisis, which is why we need to restart the hard work of talks for a two state solution of a viable palestinian state alongside a safe and secure israel. Well, this is a israel. Well, this is a fascinating turn of events, actually, because so keir starmer, if you are just joining us, went into a mosque over the weekend in south wales with a camera crew, his own, im assuming, and met with the imam there, the imam , for what its there, the imam, for what its worth, unfortunately appeared unable to be able to say much in engush unable to be able to say much in english or understand that much english, and certainly was not aware of who the deputy leader and potential future Prime Minister of this country is. Sorry, deputy. Sorry. Of sorry, deputy. Sorry. Leader of the easy me to the opposition. Easy for me to say. And the potential future Prime Minister is so that that didnt in didnt go particularly well in the they felt duped the end because they felt duped and tricked that mosque into and tricked at that mosque into hosting kind of political hosting some kind of political pr right now, i can pr stunt right now, i can understand that. Mean , it was understand that. I mean, it was unquestionably a pr stunt. Thats what that is. I mean, that stunt. You up that is a pr stunt. You turn up with the taking pictures of with the paps taking pictures of you shaking hands a mosque in you shaking hands at a mosque in the middle a conflict the the middle of a conflict in the middle all know the middle east. We all know the drill there. Reacted drill there. And they reacted badly then we saw badly to that. Then we saw several cars , councillors, at several cars, councillors, at least 23 as of two days ago, possibly more, now quit the labour party as a result of keir starmer not calling for a ceasefire. There appeared to be a bit of misinformation doing the rounds as well. Keir starmer the rounds as well. Keir starmer himself has come out and called for israel to continue keep for israel to continue to keep electricity water flowing electricity and water flowing into gaza. So hes called for that. There were things that. Okay. There were things doing the rounds that he hadnt called for and that called for that and that prompted a of anger. Hes prompted a lot of anger. Hes now been locked in crisis talks with theres of with muslim mps. Theres talk of a shadow cabinet member walking over Keir Starmers stance. And now this is what hes come out and said, which is that he still supports a two state solution and that a political solution is the only way that this crisis will be resolved. We need to restart the hard work of talks so hes not really changed his position at all. So far. Hes not said much that he not really said much that he hasnt already said. Interesting not really said much that he hasniassumed said. Interesting not really said much that he hasniassumed that interesting not really said much that he hasniassumed that maybeting i had assumed that maybe he would caved to some would have caved to some pressure by he does not pressure by now. He does not appear to have done that. Now, israel called un israel have called for un secretary general Antonio Guterres say guterres to resign. They say that his comments about the hamas justify terrorism. Hamas attack justify terrorism. Now guterres has hit back. Weve seen a variety of different terror groups meeting in that region, no doubt plotting about what their next move is going to be. In other news, it will also be. In other news, it will also be telling you about why an individual could become britains first ever migrant crisis. Billionaire yeah, billionaire, not millionaire. And apparently , apparently meat and apparently, apparently meat eaters are at a record low in this country. Patrick christys gb news, co co weeknights from. Six co weeknights from. Six welcome back. Now, later this hour , i will talk about the hour, i will talk about the latest american tv cartoon thats marked harry and meghan , thats marked harry and meghan, apparently. But i believe that we can go to israel now and get some big breaking news. Yes, thats right. In the last couple of so lets cross to of minutes. So lets cross to tel aviv speak our tel aviv and speak to our security editor, mark white. Mark, you have some breaking news for us. Yes. Reports now that israel has agreed to delay the Ground Invasion of gaza to allow the United States to place Missile Defences around its assets in the middle east. This has been broken by the wall street journal , now widely picked broken by the wall street journal, now widely picked up here in israel by the media. We are expecting at some point in the coming hours a statement on camera from the israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu , minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, who but we know that the us has been scrambling to get these Missile Defence systems is in place around their us assets base here in the middle east, particularly iraq and syria, where weve seen in strikes, attacks on troops in those countries since the outbreak of this war on the 7th of october. So we await the detail as to how long this delay might for , be long this delay might for, be but thats whats being reported by the wall street journal now being picked up by multiple Israeli Television channels who are reporting this as well. And today, of course, it has been another day of rockets coming in from gaza just in the last few minutes, we had an alertjust in the southern outskirts of tel aviv. We saw the iron dome Missile Defence system heading up to intercept a missile that came in to the tel aviv area and heard that explosion as it intercepted that particular rocket. Also so today the Israeli Government still very angry with the un secretary general , whos been trying to general, whos been trying to clarify the comments that he made with regard to the war on hamas and suggesting that it comes against a backdrop of 56 years of israeli occupation. The israelis acting or answering , israelis acting or answering, saying those remarks with a very critical reply and calling for Antonio Guterres to resign. Ive Antonio Guterres to resign. Ive been looking back at the latest events on day 19 of the war against hamas just hours after the un secretary general called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in gaza. This was israels response. A further intensification of airstrikes against what israel says were hamas positions include wing command and control compounds , command and control compounds, Ammunition Stores and rocket launchers. But with many of those hamas position is right in the centre of residential areas that all on gazas civilians is enormous. The of the hamas controlled Health Ministry claimed more than 700 died in the latest round of israeli strikes , round of israeli strikes, dismissing the secretary generals call for a ceasefire, israel said it had no intention of easing up on its operation to destroy hamas and there is no widespread anger across israel after Antonio Guterres went on to say that although there was no justification for the attacks on the 7th of october, they did not occur, he said. In a vacuum , the palestinian in a vacuum, the Palestinian People have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation. Years of suffocating occupation. They have seen their land steadily devoured by settlements and plagued by violence. Their and plagued by violence. Their economy is stifled , their People Economy is stifled, their people displaced and their homes demolished. I think that the secretary general all must resign because from now on, every day that he is here in this building, unless he apologises immediately. Today we apologises immediately. Today we called him to apologise. Guys, called him to apologise. Guys, there is no justification to the existence of this building. Existence of this building. There are growing fears here of a widening regional conflict. Must seem a very long way off if just recapping that breaking news reports that israel is now prepared to delay its Ground Invasion to allow the United States to place Missile Defence systems around its assets in the region, particularly , of course, region, particularly, of course, around iraq and syria , where us around iraq and syria, where us troops have already come under attack. The israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu , minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, who is due to make a televised address in the next 30 minutes, is mark. Thank you very much. Mark white there, our security editor from tel aviv. Interesting that it looks as though it looks as though that ground deployment is going to be delayed. A man from essex who used to run a disco has been branded britains migrant king after making tens of millions of pounds from the crisis. And guess what . All the money paid to graham king has come reportedly from the taxpayer. So well done, everybody. Well done. Providing accommodation for channel migrants help. Kings company Clearsprings Ready Homes make around £25 million in 2021 alone. But with more than 45,000 people arriving in small boats last year, their profits more than doubled. In fact, some reports estimated he was paid around £35 million a day, which is staggering. With me now is mike jones, whos the executive director of migration. Watch. Mike, great to have you on the show. Thank you very, very much. The taxpayer will be delighted to know that we are well on our way creating britains first way to creating britains first migrant crisis billionaire round of for all. I admire of applause for us all. I admire this mans entrepreneurial spirit, but surely there is a better use of taxpayers money than lining this essex former disco owners pockets . Disco owners pockets . Indeed. I mean, the situation is so bad that its almost rehabilitating the reputation of karl marx. I mean , we dont have the i mean, we dont have the free market capitalism of Margaret Thatcher or milton friedman. Friedman. This is cronyism, pure and simple. Simple. People like mr king are enriching their coffers at the expense of the taxpayer. Expense of the taxpayer. And it really does stick to the craw. And to put this in some perspective of the government has a levelling up fund. You has a levelling up fund. You know, its used to gentrify depnved know, its used to gentrify deprived towns and cities , deprived towns and cities, invest in cultural assets, improve transport links and so on. But mr king has a contract worth 1. 3 billion. Now that sum is greater than the sum sent out dunng is greater than the sum sent out during rounds one and rounds two of the levelling up fund. So the north west, for example, received 600 million and that was the largest recipients. This 1. 3 billion contract is greater than the money sent to the south east money sent to the south west the east midlands, the West Midlands , yorkshire and the midlands, yorkshire and the humber london. And its a greater sum than the total money given to wales , the total money given to wales, Northern Ireland and scotland, which is just shy of 800 million. Thats for rounds one and two of the. Is it this guys fault though . You see, this is the thing. Its not really his fault, is it . Hes providing its not his fault at all, actually, is it . I mean, hes providing a service. Its someones offering him an absolute it. He absolute fortune for it. And he said to it. I mean, hes not said yes to it. I mean, hes not hes not Human Trafficking people. Is himself . So is people. Is he himself . So is this a fault with the this more a fault with the government than it is with this guy, well, suppose guy, graham king well, i suppose thats one of looking at it. Thats one way of looking at it. You we need an economy you know, we need an economy based on producers rather than people or being parasitic off the taxpayer. And yeah, i think the taxpayer. And yeah, i think the taxpayer. And yeah, i think the lions share of the blame is certainly with the government. They should have anticipated this problem. Well in advance. You know, the illegal crossings in europe through the bosphorus straits, the balkans , various straits, the balkans, various other places , the government other places, the government should have anticipated many years in advance that this could become a problem for the uk, particularly with criminal supply chains becoming more sophisticated. Sophisticated. Ive been enjoying reading reviews of it actually , some of reviews of it actually, some of the some of the companies you can go online and review and review this guys business. Apparently had recorded a video of your staff who wouldnt tell me who he is. So i cannot complain about him. Nasty staff at night. Apparently this is in some of the accommodation that people claim to be staying in. Thats quite a bit of this going about, actually. Some some of about, actually. Some of some of them quite funny, them are are quite funny, apparently. One of them it apparently. And one of them it says most savage and says that the most savage and educated ready home staff are working at a place in colindale. Just fyi, have shields just fyi, they have riot shields in so they can in their office so they can easily your in. Easily smash your face in. Thats from who is thats from somebody who is getting in touch there. They should be disgusted with themselves. Are a couple should be disgusted with thngood ves. Are a couple should be disgusted with thngood reviews. Are a couple should be disgusted with thngood reviews. Itare a couple should be disgusted with thngood reviews. It must couple should be disgusted with thngood reviews. It must beiple should be disgusted with thngood reviews. It must be said of good reviews. It must be said as well. I love this company. I love this company. Its quite busy, its lovely me and busy, but its lovely for me and theyve been with us and theyve been helpful with us and my accommodation my mother accommodation was suitable, mixed bag, suitable, so its a mixed bag, it said, for this it must be said, for this particular chat. But he is planning on seeing these massive profits way the profits go a long way into the future. Apparently. Apparently. Apparently his contract runs until so you know, far until 2029. So you know, far from stopping the boats, a yes. From stopping the boats, a yes. I mean, there are perverse incentives there. And theres this this myth that simply increasing the population and keeping the pedal to the metal on large scale immigration, whether its legal or illegal, is going to boost the economy. But what were seeing here essentially is a redistribution program. The hard pressed program. The hard pressed taxpayer is seeing their money taken away from them by the treasury and given to a very privileged people like mr king, who, you know , is living the who, you know, is living the life of riley. Hes funding life of riley. Hes funding a glamorous lifestyle. Hes sending his kids to boarding schools and so on. Apparently his daughter apparently apparently his daughters are, say, £44,000 a year boarding school and makes a artwork saying deport racists, not refugees. I mean , im not not refugees. I mean, im not surprised. The migrant crisis is literally funding their lifestyle, isnt it . Every time they go on yet another luxury ski trip or hes pictured out on some some beach there looking great, getting a nice tan. It is the migrant crisis in part thats for it. I thats paying for it. Again, i do want to emphasise genuinely, im not saying this because im not just saying this because im not just saying this because i have to this i probably have to at this point, but actually have point, but i dont actually have a massive problem with graham king. Know, hes guy who king. You know, hes a guy who started business, saw an started a business, saw an opportunity has opportunity and someone has gone, the best part of gone, here is the best part of £1 do you want it . And £1 billion. Do you want it . And he said yes to that. And anyones got a right to do that. Its just fact its more just the fact that this is happening the amount this is happening and the amount of money that its costing the taxpayer. Thank you taxpayer. But look, thank you very, great to very, very much. Its great to have on show. Its mike have you on the show. Its mike jones. There is the executive director at migration watch. We did reach graham kings director at migration watch. We did reach clear graham kings director at migration watch. We did reach clear springs, Kings Company, clear springs, ready homes them come homes and invited them to come on this show this afternoon. Sadly, they declined and actually its almost pointless offering them a fee, isnt it, because they dont need the money royal aide dubbed money now. A royal aide dubbed major candy is set to become major eye candy is set to become the kings new super equerry. Lieutenant Johnny Thompson was given his nickname here he is. Look at him. Oh it was given his nickname after becoming a social media heartthrob. If youre listening to us on radio, by the way, i would seriously you way, i would seriously urge you at point this evening to go at some point this evening to go and this this is the and check this out. This is the heartthrob that the king is now employing. He was he shot to prominence initially during the Queen Elizabeths funeral and then the kings coronation. All ready an equerry. He is being promoted to super equerry after charming the king and queen camilla. Meanwhile, in other news, someone whos charmless. No, thats not what i mean. Harry and meghan are being mocked by another tv cartoon. Mocked by another tv cartoon. This time it is family guy. Ill go it alone. Ill go it alone. Just like Meghan Markle and prince harry, sir , your millions prince harry, sir, your millions from netflix for no one knows what put it with the rest of them babe time to do. Our daily them babe time to do. Our daily 250,000 sponsored Instagram Post for del taco. Post for del taco. Oh, i shouldnt have left the maid up. Nonsense its really bounce back after being cut off by his father, hasnt he . Joining me now to hasnt he . Joining me now to discuss these two stories, our royal reporter , kinsey royal reporter, kinsey schofield. Kinsey, thank you very, very much. First things first. Blown away by the first. Are you blown away by the dishy super aquari am dishy new super aquari am i blown away by what . Yeah, i know the dishy, good looking new super aquari. King charles and i super aquari. King charles and i am beyond blown away. Yeah , yeah. Im telling you, yeah, yeah. Im telling you, patrick, if there was a fire and i had to save Johnny Thompson or the crown jewels , im saving the crown jewels, im saving lieutenant thompson. Okay, thats what. That is what the priority is. Oh. Priority is. Oh. Oh, good stuff. Oh, good stuff. Hes. You know, i. I think that this is beyond a smart move for the king because as he has really riled up the base on social media and this gives people something fun to focus on. You know , were constantly on. You know, were constantly talking about the negativity surrounding harry and meghan. This is a handsome guy. Hes a father of two who they say hes got a great sense of humour. I imagine hes a dynamite cuddler, but , you know, wed have to ask but, you know, wed have to ask his wife. But it just gives us something so fun to focus on. It does. It does. No, seriously , i must say, i seriously, i must say, i absolutely love this. Yes great stuff. Well, look, before we before we go down the rabbit hole of being accused of objectifying men and we cant possibly have that , can we . No, possibly have that, can we . No, we couldnt have that. Wed be cancelled. But its terrible. Lets talk about prince harry and the latest family guy clip, because south park first. Because it was south park first. But now, you know, the other big American International american cartoon international reach, which is slamming them really taking the absolute mic, arent they . And you know, the William Morris endeavour also represents the team behind family guy, William Morris endeavour, whos Meghan Markles new agency. So i think it gives you a sense of how the mighty have fallen when it comes to the sussex brand, that theyre fair game in hollywood. No no matter how powerful their agency is, they become fair game. And hollywood become fair game. And hollywood doesnt necessarily take them seriously. So they really have seriously. So they really have to put all of their effort into this new netflix movie, meet me at the lake. Hope to god that at the lake. Hope to god that its a smash hit, which we wont technically know because netflix never releases their numbers. Never releases their numbers. But i think that theyve really got to put a lot of effort into making this movie good so that people will start to take them seriously. See, and it is effort, isnt it . Thats the reputation. Now, im afraid that is very much the reputation because of what happened with spotify. A couple of things that people have said about as well. What about netflix as well. What weve just seen that the impression is that they dont do very much for a huge amount of money and expect it a lot. They say a lot, but dont do a lot. Thats thats the impression isnt it . Its that the return on investment is not there. If we give you millions of dollars and all you can give us is 13 episodes, thats that arent even what was initially promised. Youre talking to paris hilton, not heads of charities and youre not, you know, bringing in the numbers that are necessary to justify that are necessary to justify that kind of payout, then. Absolutely not. And we are seeing rumours of the of amazons streaming company audible. Consider taking them on. But i guarantee you audible is talking to spotify or there are they have friends that are friends and they are getting the dirt on harry and meghan before they commit to Something Like that because they dont want to have egg on their face like spotify did. At the end of the day, some people were fired over that deal that was a huge loss and, you know, nobody wants to recreate such a catastrophe. No, absolutely. Kinsey, thank no, absolutely. Kinsey, thank you very much. Great to have you on the show , as ever. I will see on the show, as ever. I will see you very soon. Kinsey schofield there, royal reporter. Now ive got for you got some breaking news for you and one our top and its about one of our top stories that had earlier on stories that we had earlier on in the show. Labour mp Khalid Mahmood muslim mps mahmood says that muslim mps have had a very good and constructive meeting with sir keir starmer and mahmood said that labours stance over the middle east conflict should not be a resign issue for party members. Sir keir has come under fire from some quarters for labours policy on the israel hamas war and a number of Muslim Councillors have resigned, while more than 150 muslim labour councillors urged sir keir and Angela Rayner to back an immediate ceasefire in gaza. Well Khalid Mahmood has told bbc radio four now the meeting was very good. I think all of us predominantly muslim mps that were there had their say about the issues. They wanted to raise it is not a resigning issue because we belong to a party for a purpose. So that is the latest we were hearing before that there was certainly rumours anyway of a prominent labour frontbencher quitting over this. So there we go. Now moving on, we are eating less meat than at any time since the 1970s. Believe it or not. Please tell me that were not all turning vegan. I me that were not all turning vegan. I hope not. Anyway. Patrick christies gb news. The peoples. Channel welcome back. It is 10 to 6. Youre watching or listening to me, Patrick Christies on gb news now , would you trade up news now, would you trade up that meaty, full english fry veggie breakfast . Well, it seems like a lot of brits would with the uks population consuming less meat last year than they did in the 70s, believe it or not, that for what its worth, is one records began are brits becoming more conscious with their dietary choices, or is it simply a method of tightening those Purse Strings . Is it a financial, not a moral decision . Im joined now by Maisie Steadman from the Vegan Society. Steadman from the Vegan Society. Maisie, thank you very much. Great to have you on the show. Im staggered about this , not im staggered about this, not least we have more least because we have more people i mean, millions, millions and millions more people now than we had in the 19705. People now than we had in the 1970s. So the idea that we have the amount or fewer people the same amount or fewer people eating meat than we did in the 70s, eating meat than we did in the 705, i eating meat than we did in the 70s, i find remarkable. Yeah absolutely. I mean, i think its obviously great to hear from a Vegan Society perspective that people are eating less meat. And i think there are a huge number of factors at play here that have all come together to result in this, you know, reduction in Meat Consumption across the board. So as you did mention, board. So as you did mention, you know, people are tightening their belts. The cost of living their belts. The cost of living crisis is certainly having an impact on peoples Meat Consumption. In our live vegan consumption. In our live vegan for Less Campaign that weve done to promote that a vegan diet can be very affordable. We did some research as part of that last year and we did find that last year and we did find that up to a third of shoppers are are, you know, cutting back on meat and dairy in order to save money and think that that is good because as when people cut down on meat and dairy to save money, theyre then opened up to other you know, veggie opfions up to other you know, veggie options that are incredibly cheap, like lentils, beans , cheap, like lentils, beans, peanut butter, all great sources of protein , all incredibly of protein, all incredibly cheap. And then theyre more likely to, you know, try more veggie options and understand the vegan diet a little bit more and perhaps come round to those environmental and moral reasons as well, which are also huge factors here. Yeah do people have to take quite a lot of supplements though, if they if they dont eat meat or they if they dont eat meat or they dont drink milk or consume any animal product whatsoever, do you often find that you have to take supplements . To take supplements . No, absolutely not. No, absolutely not. Its not essential to take supplements , as with any diet supplements, as with any diet across the board. And you need across the board. And you need to make sure that its well planned and that youre getting all the nutrients you need. But you absolutely can get every single nutrient that is required on a vegan diet. Single nutrient that is required on a vegan diet. And you just on a vegan diet. And you just need to make sure, yeah, that youre eating a wide range of fruits, good protein fruits, vegetables, good Protein Sources , as the british dietetic sources, as the British Dietetic Association has actually said , association has actually said, that a vegan diet is suitable for all people at any stage of life. So it is and can be an incredibly healthy diet. Have you ever have you ever eaten meat . I have eaten meat in the past, yeah. Ive been vegan for 8 or 9 years now. How do you secretly do you ever miss it a bit . I dont miss it. No. I think you know, once youve really cut come to the understanding of why youve made that choice, you know, of course, for me, primarily it was a compassion based choice. I primarily it was a compassion based choice. I didnt primarily it was a compassion based choice. I didnt want to based choice. I didnt want to be contributing to the slaughter of animals anymore. But you also get a huge number of other benefits, including, you know, the environmental benefits. So you know, the a study by Oxford University earlier this year actually found that eating a vegan diet resulted in a 75 reduction in climate heating emissions, Water Pollution and land use. So when you really understand all those statistic , understand all those statistic, you kind of you dont you just dont miss it because you understand its a worldview. Its a worldview, i suppose. Yeah. And the vegan food firm there, beyond meat apparently recently reports a 31 fall in sales. So it is it is odd. I wonder whether or not people are now making their own vegan products as opposed to buying those kind of pre packaged things that weirdly, for me, always try to look like raw meat. Why vegan and meat. Like why . Why go vegan and then eat something that looks like a that like a steak. Like a that looks like a steak. I some of them, they even i mean, some of them, they even kind of fake bleed, they . Kind of fake bleed, dont they . But up. Sorry but weve got to wrap up. Sorry maisie, ive got to go. I maisie, ive got to go. But i did. Thank you very much for coming and done on on 8 coming on and well done on on 8 or 9 years of a vegan as or 9 years of being a vegan as well. I did try it once, i must say. And no success, im afraid. But maybe i need to care more. Thank much. That is thank you very much. That is maisie of the maisie salmon of the Vegan Society. I will back society. Right. I will be back on later tonight. Nine till 11 pm. Ive got a cracking show lined for you. Actually but pm. Ive got a cracking show linnnext, for you. Actually but pm.
