Winners have been named in Saturday's Fairfield Lighted Christmas Parade. First place in the Youth-School-Adult Organizations went to the Flora Apple Queen Pageant and second place to Frontier Community College. In the Church category, first place went to the entry from the Lebanon North Cumberland Presbyterian Church and second to the First United Methodist Church. In the Business category first place went to Fairfield Banking Company's entry and second to the CRHPC Fairfield Community Health Center. In the Individuals-Animal-Antiquie-Golf Cart-Side by Side category, first place went to the Fairfield Rural Fire Department and second to the Clark Family entry. The Grand Marshal Award was given to the Snow Globe by Jim and Sheryl Musgrave and the Best Overall Use of Lights Award went to the Flora Apple Queen Pageant. Wayne City's 5th annual Hometown Lighted Christmas Parade is set for this Saturday night at 7. Parade Marshals will be Scott and Lisa Clark. Those wishing to register should call 895-4329. Prizes will be given to parade winners, and several activities for children will be held before the parade at the Community Building, including photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus beginning at 5 p.m. A fundraiser dinner for the Wayne County Senior Citizen and Community Center will be held this Saturday night at 6 at the Fairfield Community of Christ Church in the church's Family Life Center. The dinner is sponsored by Fairfield National Bank, and tickets at the door will be $35 for individuals and $60 for couples. Those seeking more information can call 842-6604. WFIW Radio has also planned a Radiothon this Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to raise money and awareness for the project. Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White was honored recently with the Region 3 Customer Convenience Award from the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) for his office's web-based appointment system at select Driver Services facilities in the state. The award recognized White's office for implementing the stand-alone web-based appointment system designed to address heavy customer demand caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. AAMVA cited the online appointment system's ease of use for customers to schedule an appointment. Currently 16 Chicago-area Driver Services facilities are requiring appointments while 13 larger central and downstate Illinois facilities are being added over the next two months.
