Ireland: Liam Reilly Dies At The Age of 65
Liam Reilly who represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1990 has died at the age of 65.
Ireland’s 1990 representative Liam Reilly has passed away. The singer who first started performing as part of Bagatelle, performed with the group from 1978 until the mid 1980s when he decided to begin a solo career. He would move to Savannah, Georgia before in 1988 first competing in the Irish selection for Eurovision.
Liam would be chosen in 1990 to represent Ireland in Yugoslavia with the song “Somewhere in Europe”, he would finished 2nd in Zagreb scoring a total of 132 points tied with France and 17 points behind winners Italy. He would return to the contest the following year as a songwriter for “Could It be That I’m in Love” performed by Kim Jackson, she would finish 10th scoring 47 points.
