Dževad Pajazetović in Iowa before his arrest by federal marshals.
Dževad Pajazetović, a former Bosnian soldier during that nation's 1990s civil war, moved to the United States in 1998 and settled in Waukee with his wife and children. He became a U.S. citizen in 2004.
But in March, he was arrested at his job at Titan Tire by federal agents responding to an extradition request from Bosnia. Pajazetović was convicted of murder in absentia at a 1999 trial that his attorney says he wasn't even aware of, and Bosnia now wants him returned to serve his 11-year prison sentence.
