They did find one of the missing firefighters today, but there is a toxic smell in the air here and those chemicals are still burning. This is the newest video of what happened that day. The dash board camera capturing the explosions, no audio is recording. What they saw and what shook. Those shadows up ahead are people scrambling to get far from the blast. This morning, rescue crews are out in force, shifting through that rubble, looking for survivors. Early today, a victory, one of the dozens of firefighters that rushed in to douse the flames. This 19yearold pulled from the twisted metal. More than 56 are dead, more than 700 wounded and dozens still missing. This morning, some fires still burning and moving in, more than 200 Army Personnel trained to deal with chemical and nuclear catastrophes. Experts he in hazmat suits testing the air, trying to figure out what caused this. American Dan Van Duren shot this video as he was running for his life. Lets go reporter clearly these were the ones at the center of the epicenter. He showed us where he was that night. He climbed to the roof with his girlfriend to watch the stars but his amazement soon turning to horror. It looked like a nuclear bomb going off in my face, and it felt like that. We turn now to the new developments in the shooting death of an unarmed South Carolina teenager. Police officer killing a 19yearold at a fastfood parking lot while he was out on a date. Justice department is looking into this case at the familys request, launching a civil rights investigation. I would like to see the officer charged with murder. Reporter this morning, grief and anger from the Hammond Family in South Carolina. They have seen the killings of unarmed black suspects across the country, but today its their son. I mean, this is over a little bit of marijuana. You dont kill people over marijuana. Reporter he was shot to death during a drug sting in a hardees parking lot. The bullets missing his passenger. We set up a perimeter. One of our officers involved in a shooting. Reporter police are blaming the unarmed young man saying he tried to run the Police Officer over with his car. Calling it attempted murder in this police report. Attorneys for the Police Officer saying in a statement, if not for his quick reflexes and his ability to push off of the car, the officer would have been run over by mr. Hammond. But an autopsy commissioned by the family shows that the 19yearolds gunshot wounds entered the back of his shoulder and his side, not the front of his body. He murdered our son. He murdered our son. I dont understand. It doesnt matter whether he was doing something just really bad. You dont shoot people the way he shot my son. Reporter they believe the police may have dash cam video and if so, they would like it released. Police arent commenting. Family tells us that we in this country take a close look at the use of police force against young people. They tell us they cry whenever they hear of these shootings. Robin . All right, steve, thank you. Now to a death at a popular ohio amusement park, a man hit and killed by a rollercoaster when he entered a restricted area to find belongings he lost on a ride. Gio benitez has that story. Good morning, gio. Reporter good morning. It peers that was a decision that cost him a life. At one of americas oldest and most renowned amusement parks. Overnight, an ohio schoolteacher struck and killed by a speeding roller coaster. The city and Police Departments condolences go out to the family of this gentleman. Reporter according to police, james young entered the restrictor of this ride at Cedar Point Park in sandusky, ohio, at around 5 00 p. M. Thursday evening. That ride is really fast. That guy got knocked out. His skull got cracked. He was down there at least 20 minute, half hour. Reporter rescue squads responding to the scene, attempting to revive young, but they were unsuccessful. Officials say the 45yearold dropped personal belongings while riding the raptor with friends earlier that day. After completing the ride, mr. Young decided to retrieve these items. He jumped over a fence into a restricted area. Under the raptor. Mr. Young was struck by the raptor train that was in operation. Reporter this video from cedar points website shows the raptor under normal circumstances traveling nearly 60 miles per hour, one of the many thrilling rides at the park that brands itself the rollercoaster capital of the world. Cedar point park issuing a statement saying, our thoughts and prayers are with the family. And were told no one else was injured on that ride when young was killed. The roller coaster is shut down. In new jersey, cameras rolling when a school bus drove through this intersection hitting an suv before slamming into that liquor store. The family breaking their silence for the First Time Since their sons death. Recalling his big heart and the big dreams that he had. Kevin ward jr. Will never race again and his family believes that tony stewart should face the same punishment. To many people tony stewart is one of racings great. To pam and kevin ward, tony stewart is the man who killed their only son. What do you ultimately want theres no amount of money that with bring your son back. We want justice for their son. Reporter just one year ago, ward went to a track in upstate new york to race and never made it out alive. He was a great kid. He had a huge heart. Reporter wards dad gets emotional when he recalls his son was 10, he asked if he could help a fellow, less fortunate competitor. He come over to me and said dad, can i have the new tires . I said, why do you want the new tires . And he told me that the young lad that got second could have beat me if he had new tires. That was pretty hard. Reporter on august 9th 2014, ward was racing when his car was hit by stewarts sending wards into the wall. Ward got out of his car apparently to confront stewart and then stewart fatally hits him. Oh, he hit him i wish he would not have gotten out of the car, more than anybody. But i also acknowledge the fact that if tony would have stayed low on the track and not have gunned his engine and headed for my son my son would still be here. Reporter afterwards death a grand jury decided not to file criminal charges against stewart. One of the facts that emerged was a toxicology report showing ward had trace amounts of marijuana in his system on that fatal night. I dont believe my son was impaired. Reporter the family now filing a civil suit against stewart. We want him accountable. The civil suit is the only action we have left. Reporter you feel like tony stewart killed your son and got away with it. Yes, most definitely. Tony races every weekend. I know my son will never get to race again. Reporter according to the lawsuit, the family alleges that tony acted recklessly. Purposely gunning the engine. While under a caution. You can hear the acceleration in the tape and its tonys car accelerating. Oh, he hit him you can see he slides his car sideways and hits my son and kills him. Theres no doubt. He knew what he was doing and it was tonys car that revved that motor. You dont think he was trying to kill him, you think he was trying to intimidate him. I dont think he tried to kill my son but his actions. Killed my son. What do you want tony to know . He took a big part of my family. And we reached out to stewarts camp. They have no comment at the time. Tony stewart, however, has always maintained that he did not rev his engine. He did not go afterward jr. But this civil suit, wards legal Team Strongly believes that theres new ed that will tell a different story. But this is their last shot at justice for their son. But one of his friends is coming to his defense and abcs ryan smith is here with that story. Hes also just back from zimbabwe where he got an inside look at the place where that famous lion lived. Hunters now under fire are making the den tilt public enemy number one and now hunters under fire are telling us their side of the story. In zimbabwe we arrive at the place where cecil called home. It was famous. Reporter among his followers a lion researcher who fitted cecil with a special collar in 2008. Tracking his every move until the day dr. Walter palmer shot cecil dead on july 1st. Palmers guide now faces criminal charges in zimbabwe and there are calls for his extradition. He says he believed the kill was entirely legal but why he doubts that story. Adding that lion collar he used to track cecil could suggest a coverup. We get the suggestion that someone is trying to fool us. Reporter both palmer and his guide saying they didnt know they killed a famous lion. In a court hearing, they amitt they were shocked that cecil was wearing a tracking collar but claims they removed the device, left it in a tree and contacted authorities. Palmer hasnt been seen in weeks. In his hometown, chad wagner defending his longtime friend. The type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. This mornings hot button, a gma exclusive with actress Kelly Rutherford, the star losing her latest battle to keep her children here with her in the United States. Instead the judge sending them overseas to their father even though the children are american citizens. Well talk to her live in just a moment. But first, a look at kellys case. Actress Kelly Rutherford living a mothers nightmare, as the agonizing sixyear International Custody battle for her two children rages on. Tuesday, a judge ordered the star to send her kids back to their father in monaco after rutherford failed to return them last week as part of the couples custody battle. No words at this moment. The couple originally agreed to share custody after their divorce, that was until the germanborn gierschs visa was revoked in 2012. A california judge now ruling their son and daughter, now ages 8 and 6, live in monaco with him, allowing rutherford to only have summers with her children. Rutherford has tried legally to bring her children back to the u. S. For years but says california and u. S. Courts both claim to have no jurisdiction. And Kelly Rutherford joins us exclusively live here with the her attorney, wendy murphy is in boston. Kelly, good morning. Its been a couple of days since the children are back with their father. How are you . Im good. Im good. Im just trying to process it. And understand it, and make sense of it, really. Of course, you were very critical of the judges ruling and your main issue is your children are american citizens. Yeah, i just feel like their voices have not been heard. In a way, you know, i walked into a courtroom where, everything felt like it was already done. It was a done deal. And his mother was sitting there with plane tickets, smiling, ready to take them, nobody had heard our argument. I was accused of things that i wasnt able to even defend. Kidnapping. I think kidnapping is when no one knows where the kids are. He was in communication with them every day. I wrote him an email no nobody had jurisdiction in my country. And i was concerned that until somebody gave me some order saying they were coming back, you know, i talked to my lawyers, they said this was concerning on many levels, so so, you werent prepared for them to be taken from you, what was that moment like . How were the children when they went with their grandmother . Im glad they didnt have any notice in a way, i think it would van been harder. I think it was in a moment, oh, your grandma is here, youre going to go see your dad. We all had to sort of be up for them. And, you know, i was happy the way it ended up happening, because they didnt have to sit in the courtroom and watch it all happen or deal with media or anything. That would have been sort of harmful, i think. Have you been able to speak with them since theyve been back with their father . Yes, of course, of course. I want to bring in your attorney right now, because our legal expert, dan abrams, and other legal experts, they sympathize with kelly, but they also feel that violating the courts order not returning the children on the date that she was supposed to, that was a risky move. Robin there was not court order requiring to send the children back. When youre an american citizen, youre not required to obey a foreign country, especially a foreign country where you have no citizenship, your father has no citizenship, your mother has no citizenship. Its preposterous to think there was a court order in place that monaco was commanding them to be arrested. That did not happen. That was not the story. You know, i heard in the package, kelly had an agreement to send the kids back. Heres the agreement that matters. Back in 2012, the kids were toddlers, and kelly was ordered to send the children to monaco temporarily. The childrens father and kelly and the court agreed it would be a temporary stay abroad while the father got a u. S. Visa or tried, and for three years he did nothing. Heres the agreement that matters. The father agreed and the children were told youre not staying here forever, its temporary. I, your father, agree you will return to your own country, if i dont get a visa. He violated his agreement. He violated an American Court order and the saddest part of this story is, no American Court seems to give a damn. We had talked, wendy, extensively about the fact that he kept the children after the temporary and we have talked extensively about that. Theres a custody hearing, september 3rd, in monaco, are you fearful that what happened this week will have an impact on that custody hearing . Well, i mean, monaco has been incredibly kind to me and my children. And very respectful. This was the first five weeks ive had with my kids straight in six years. You know. The reason the children werent ordered home by california, because daniels refusing to let me see them unless i surrendered their u. S. Passports. So california ordered them home before they said they didnt have jurisdiction. Then, monaco didnt demand them back. New york just sent them back. So, it was a very odd, you know, odd situation. I think that monaco has been put in this position because of the decisions made here in u. S. Finally, youre being vocal not only for your children you feel this is something that happening this is happening to so many people. I have people stopping me on the streets, writing me letters, sending me envelopes of their cases. I was just in d. C. , speaking with members of congress, and the state department. This is happening a lot. There needs to be laws put in place here. Youre setting us up. Youre setting the kids up for a problem, the parents up for a problem. I shouldnt have to fight this in a Foreign Court at this point. You know, this was not what was the intention much the order. All right, kelly thank you for being with us this morning. Thank you. Did it turn out as you thought it would . I went into it, i didnt know if it was going to work. I knew it was going to be a big video after i edited. I showed it to my mother and she cried. I was like, wow, this is powerful. Reporter to begin, he made a facebook profile posing as a 15yearold boy. With the parents permission, i friended three girls. 13, 15 and 12 years old. Reporter after texting and chatting on the phone, he told the girls he wanted to meet up. First, you recruited the parents. Go ahead and try your social experiment but none of our kids are going to talk to you. She just said, i think my dad fell asleep you can come now. Im sorry. Youre 12 years old. Reporter the dramatic video sparking a barrage of social media comments, most saying its hard to watch but needs to be seen. We have the parents of jenna, im going to text her right now. Reporter young girls trusting an online stranger. I cant believe this. I cant believe this. Reporter what started as an experiment, no doubt sparking an urgent conversation.
