They were not hurt in the shooting. Chp found a second car further down the road shot multiple times. The uber driver was taken to sf general with nonlife threatening injuries. So far, though, no arrests. Firefighters in the north bay are in the final stages of reaching containment on four different fires. Pocket fire is now 87 contained. A group of fires including the nuns is now 90 contained and the most destructive fire, the tubbs fire, 94 contained. It destroyed thousands of buildings. Many students in napa county will be heading back to class after their schools were closed for two weeks during the north bay wildfires. One of those is donaldson way elementary which is where we find alyssa harrington. Good morning, elissa. Reporter these schools have been closed because of the bad air quality those fires produced. Now two weeks since they first broke out thousands of kids will return to school. At donaldson way elementary in American Canyon, all Public Schools in the district are back open today. On poor air quality days no recess or no afterschool athletic events. Classes and recess will be normal. Air conditioners and heaters will be off because filters need to be changed. Teachers did spend a lot of time wiping down classrooms. They cleaned up to try to get rid of all that ash. Schools will have Mental Health counselors on site. Now also Santa Rosa Junior College and Napa Valley College college and Napa Valley College will reopen. Another female student saw him near gayle ranch middle school. None of the students were hurt. Family and friends of two missing hikers believe the couple decided to end their suffering together. They disappeared in southern californias Joshua Tree Park in july. Their bodies were found last sunday. Detectives are calling their deaths a sympathetic murder suicide because they say its possible the situation was so dire theres no way they would survive. Investigators say the couples lack of resources played a role in their demise. It happened saturday night at airway boulevard and north canyons parkway. Police shot a woman they say drove a stolen car into two police cars. Officers ordered the 26yearold woman to get out of the car but they say she drove towards them instead. Police say the officers fired because they feared for their own safety. The woman is expected to survive and no officers were hurt. New details on a big rig crash in san ramone. Police now say the truck driver was killed when he drifted off a highway, through a fence and into a tree. Abc 7 news was there along southbound interstate ce say th off the highway. The big rig clipped another vehicle during the crash. Thankfully no one inside the car was hurt. Police searching for the gunman who opened fire on a vehicle on interstate 380 in san bruno. It involved an uber that had just left the airport. Thats where we find reporter tiffany wilson. Hi, tiffany. Reporter good morning, jessica. The driver picked up two passengers here at the airport around 11 00 last night and then he got on westbound 380. Shortly after someone inside another vehicle started shooting on the highway. Chp says the driver was hit by a bullet and crashed just east of the El Camino Real exit. The two passengers inside were not hurt. The uber driver is expected to survive. Another black car that looked similar to the uber drivers black Toyota Corolla was also shot multiple times further down on 380. The people inside of that vehicle ran away before Police Arrived at the scene. Chp has not released any information on the suspect or suspects involved. Were still processing that, still interviewing. Were still determining what was involved and how the situation came to be. Reporter chp says the crime scene stretched nearly a mile long. The Hunger Strike scheduled to begin in the Santa Clara County jail suspended, but some inmates are refusing food because theyre angry with sheriff laurie smith, smith comment add Hunger Strike would help the inmates lose weight according to the mercury news.
