Reporter Everett Jamison had worked here since august. So just four months, but apparently had offered up his services as a tow truck driver to support the cause. A search warrant at his modesto home turned up guns and ammunition. Ef j he had radical jihadi believes and social media posts that supported terrorism. Authorities say he was planning a terrorist attack on pier 379,a location he chose because he had been there before and was a heavily crowded area. You dont blow up people. You dont kill people. He was always raised christian and went to church and stuff. Reporter jamison told an undercover fbi agent he could do it the week of december 18th to the 25th and said christmas was the perfect day. He also offered services as a truck driver to support the cause. Jamison has worked here at andersons towing since august 21st. Manager Duane Thompson says the towing company is cooperating with the fbi in every way possible. According to the complaint, jamison was discharged from the u. S. Marine corps for fraudulent enlistment because he hadnt disclosed an asthma history. His weapon of choice for the attack, an assault rifle. After an fbi employee accidentally called jamison from a 202 area code and hung up, the next time an undercover agent spoke to jamison, jamison said he had reconsidered. Still, when Law Enforcement officials executed a search warrant this week, they seized a letter with the words, you all have brought this upon yourselves as well as jamisons will, firearms and ammunition. Jamis jamisons father says he was in tremendous pain after losing custody of his children who have since been adopted. The suspect converted to islam at the Islamic Center of merced about a year ago about the same time as a divorce from his wife. He lost custody of his two young children. They adopted his kids out and that crushed him. That crushed me, it crushed him. I guess i dont know if he got into this religion because of it. Members of the mosque are reportedly stunned by the accusations against jamison. Law enforcement is asking people if they see something, to say something, especially if they see violent rhetoric online. Even though this was an fbi informant that alerted the fbi, this kind of tip could have came from anybody in the public. Thats what the fbi and Law Enforcement wants in dealing with potential terrorists committing attacks in the u. S. The feds looked at the possibility of an attack on San Franciscos new years eve celebrations. There is no information about a specific credible threat. But as always, the fbi and department of Homeland Security are concerned about attacks and events where a lot of people gather in public. Local police are on alert also. In a statement, the San Francisco Police Department says, quote, during the holiday season, the public will note an increased Law Enforcement presence in shopping corridors and at our citys attractions. Reporter at pier 39, visitors are stunned after learning of a foiled christmas week terror plot. I just came here with my family, my mom and my girlfriend and i wouldnt even have known. Its crazy there are so many people planning to do so many terrible things and we have no claim about it. Reporter according to the fbi, jamison was arrested for planning to bomb the pier because he knew it would be crowded. Watching the news, reading news reports, having friends and family say are you going to be safe, are you going to be okay. Reporter Officials Say jamison had voiced his support for the october 31st terror attack in new york city in which a driver plowed a pickup truck into a crowded bike path killing eight people. Former fbi special agent rick smith wasnt surprised the pier was targeted. A period of time to identify masses of people in one place. The bottom line is they can kill and maim more people. Thats the reason theyre doing it in places like that. Jose televera and lopezperez from sunnyvale are charged with assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, kidnapping and vehicle theft. Police tracked them down in the vict victims stolen mercedes suv. Officer Phillip Sanchez was arraigned at the hall of justice this afternoon. Sanchez was charged with discharging a firearm inside an inhabited dwelling, vandalism, negligent discharge of a firearm and brandishing a firearm. He pleaded not guilty. Sanchezs attorney called the case perplexing, adding that sanchez sustained a number of injuries, including to the head and face. Its a possibility that at some point in the night he was assaulted. Its concerning but especially the fact this is a Public Safety officer. Sanchez was taken into custody outside the Four Seasons Hotel on Market Street sunday morning. No one was hurt. Union city police are trying to prevent a side show scheduled for tonight from happening. Theyre working with area businesses to help make that area safe. Weve been issuing licenses all across the state so far and will continue doing so throughout the rest of this year. Reporter the bureau started issuing the first licenses to dispensaries earlier this month. That license can be issued only in a city or county that allows the sale of Recreational Cannabis. Their atm malfunctions and it printed me out a receipt saying they couldnt return my deposit and they couldnt put my deposit in the bank and i had to calling a 1800 number. I called the number immediately and they told me that i had to file a claim and it would be ten days before i got my money back. I said, well, you know, christmas is in eight days, right . I have four kids i have to provide christmas for. That was all my money. Im a single mom. I need my money. Uhoh. We met up with michelle at her workplace today. Shes a caregiver in this fairfield home. Everyone here was rooting for michelle and her family. Now, michelle went down to the local bank branch, made phone calls and went to my Facebook Page too.
