Initially the Midland Police Department Posted it their Facebook Page saying, quote, we believe there are two shooters in two separate vehicles. The suspect reportedly abandoning his vehicle and stole a truck. The issue with that was you had the vehicle and the mail truck. At one point we didnt know that was the same person. Authorities believe it was one person. Once taken out of the picture, there more individuals. Residents in the area urged d to stay in indoors, advised to shelter in place. Initial reports saying somebody attempted suicide using chemicals. San jose Police Confirmed the death by suicide. San jose fire captain described the victim only as an adult female. He said the chemicals were found in her room. What those chemicals were or how many there were. The hazard was contained to that one room wit present through the the door. We tip to work with local ems and our own safety officials to ensure safety and security of guests and employees. Captain matlow said more than 120 people evacuated. The roads around the hotel were closed for hours. In all more than 100 First Responders and local Law Enforcement officials were called to the scene. Guesting were finally called back this afternoon. The only issue is a bad odor that is not dangerous and the hotel is working very diligently to get rid of the odor putting fresh air in the building. Neighbors heard screeching and went out but it was too late. I saw it was on fire. I immediately ran back to the house, told my daughter call 911. I came back out and saw several civilians had been around the car and they were trying to put out the fire. She said that neighbors ended up putting out the fire using their own extinguishers. A pitbull puppy stolen during a breakin at a San Francisco shelter early this week has been found. A woman found the dog abandoned in east oakland. Family dog rescue shared these pictures of the puppy. It says the woman called a shelter in berkeley. When she described the dog, the shelter immediately said it sounded a lot like one taken. Two other puppies swiped in the burglary were found in hayward and suspects were arrested. Talking 15 to 20 foot storm surge and will not make a direct impact olong the florida coast. It will be tennessee to steer away from florida and move up through georgia and carolinas. Theres the current track. It will weaken a little bit as it comes away from the bahamas to a category 4 but life threatening conditions with that storm surge, flooding rains, very gusty winds. Then as the water temperature is still about 75, 80 degrees, notice its still hugging the coastline as category 3 through west palm and into the georgia, carolina area a category 2. This thing is going to go on all week long. In fact, looks like thursday into friday its still going to be producing heavy rain, that storm surge, flooding and gusty winds. 15 to 20 foot storm surge for bahamas looking at monday night and tuesday off the florida coast into tuesday and wednesday, off the georgia and carolina coastline and looking at possibly 5 of rain for lowcountry in south carolina. The islands expecting storm surge, rainfall and Hurricane Force wind this afternoon and continuing into the evening hours. The Prime Minister hoping residents heeded his warning. Those who refuse to evacuate place themselves in great danger from this very powerful and potentially life threatening hurricane. The slow moving category 4 storm continuing to strengthen. Electric trucks from more than 30 states and canada prepositioned in Daytona Beach ready to respond, coordinating with the federal government. President trump receiving a briefing with camp david, as it continues in florida, storm watches issued along the coast. Stay tuned. Keep your preparations in place. Its still going to be a nasty day on tuesday and wednesday. Look at winds, 160 miles per hour, gusts to 185 miles per hour. It continues westward bringing life threatening storm surge and rain for the bahamas and wind and makes that turn up the coast. So for jupiter, west palm, were looking at winds of perhaps 130 miles an hour, then it hugs the coast up through jacksonville, charleston. It may make landfall from the outer banks of north carolina. This is going to take it up through thursday. As we look at the storm impacts, 15 to 20 foot storm surge for the bahamas, devastating news there, monday night into tuesday off the florida coast. Tuesday into wednesday off the georgia and carolinas looking at 5 to 7 of rain. We havent even talked about the storm surge, the flooding, the lowcountry there.
