Gloria that collision happening about a week after cpuc voted to allow cruise and waymo to expand Taxi Services in the city. These types of incidents like the one last night are the reason some oppose the driverless car expansion. We have this footage that shows the cruise car that collided with a San Francisco Fire Department truck responding to a call near vine. The driverless car, with its passenger side doors, smashed in. It happened after 10 00 last night at polk and turk street in San Francisco. Cruise posting on social media that one of their cars entered the intersection at a green light and was struck by an emergency vehicle. One passenger was in the car. The cruise says was treated and has nonsevere injuries. The San Francisco fire has been vocal about opposing expanding rubber taxi service in the city. San francisco officials are calling on california regulators to pump the brakes on the expanded service of robo taxis in the city, citing safety issues. Just last night, mauis top Emergency Management official resigned from the post, citing health issues. It is one day after he defended his decision not to sound warning sirens as wildfires swept across the island. The city took the sirens offline because they needed an upgrade and they were vulnerable to Cyber Security threats. Funding to fix them never made it to the top of the citys agenda but after what happened in hawaii, that has changed. A supervisor voted no the last time there was a funding request, saying he thought the city should be spending money on planning. Now, he is supporting bringing the sirens back. I think l taught us this should be higher up on the priority list and is the reason that i am moving forward with a funding package for it this year. There are 100 19 sirens throughout San Francisco. He estimates it will cost 5 million for all of them and that will be paid for with money the city has set aside for laguna honda hospital. Another california town is now using sirens to warn of approaching wildfires. It is the town of paradise. This is what it sounds like if a fire is approaching. [sirens] kuma installing them this spring, with plans to have 21 towers spread out throughout the butte county town. 85 people died when the campfire ripped through paradise in 2018. She said her neighbors on maui need her help right now so she is providing her customers with ways to donate.
