He looked at me and asked me why did you say that . I said, because he did it. He did it, didnt he . Erika says she immediately suspected jimmy, claiming he had abused her during their threeyear relationship. Reporter what made you fear so much for the safety of your daughter . My past. I know what i endured. I didnt want my child to endure that. Reporter erika was granted a special release to join her parents at childrens hospital, oakland. She told social workers investigating edens injuries that jimmy used to beat the crap out of me. She didnt report the abuse because she was frayed of him. Her claims were never documented and in interviews, he denied any Domestic Violence with erika. Reporter do you believe what holly and jimmy are saying happened to your granddaughter . No, no, no, i dont. Reporter according to medical records and cps reports, the couple told hospital staff eden tumbled down seven to eight concrete steps during the home. Jimmy was at work and eden was home with holly. The cps report says they told investigators they didnt take eden to the doctor, because she seemed okay. They say eden collapsed nine days later. Holly called 911. By then, it was too late. She didnt look like my baby. Eden never woke up. The coroner ruled her death a homicide, Blunt Force Trauma to the head. The day that child went to the hospital is the day they should have been arrested. Reporter she had been in jimmy and hollys care for just four months. Social workers noted that jimmy and holly severely neglected and failed to attain medical attention for eden that could have saved her life. The report said there was not enough evidence to determine they did anything to cause edens head injury. Weeks turned into months and then years with no arrest. Holly and jimmy moved to alaska where he served at the coast guard station in codeikodiak. They had two children and married. Nothing has been done. Last summer, five years after eden died, prosecutors with the coast guard filed four counts of child endangerment against jimmy bar low for failing to protect and kir for eden after her injuries. That makes me feel like somebody cared about eden bee sides us. His Attorney Says neither jimmy or holly did anything harmful to cause her death and that jimmy absolutely loved his daughter. Reporter the lynches wondered how did the coast guard come up with enough evidence to file charges but alameda prosecutors couldnt. For weeks, we asked to speak with the district attorney. They declined saying it was under review. They both had a reasonable expectation to protect that child.
