The nonprofit has been around for more than 25 years. How nice. Nice to see. Congratulations to them and him. Whats going on with the weather today . Its going to be a warm one, but this is setting the way for cool weekend. Setting the way towards it feeling a little bit more like fall around here. I know we are all looking forward it and the temperatures right now pretty nice, in the 50s and the 60s. We are seeing that fog along the coastline, have no fear we are expect to go keep a little bit of a cooling trend over the next couple of days, however, we have to get through today first and thats because inland spots still expecting to climb into those 80s and the 90s, peninsula 59 degrees right now, 62 degrees for the south bay and trivalley at a cool 57 degrees, San Francisco 60 degrees right now and the majority of the area is seeing nice clear skies. Lets check out this 24 hour temperature change. Look at santa rosa, we are 8 degrees cooler at this hour than we were yesterday, napa is 5 degrees cooler, San Francisco at about 5 degrees cooler, this is the reason why, we are already seeing that ridge breaking apart, we have that nice onshore flow thats going to return the coastal fog, trending cooler through the week. We will keep the fog through the afternoon. It will burn it off and we will see it make its return as we head into saturday and sunday. As this High Pressure finally moves off to the east, breaks apart right behind that thats where we see that pleasant change ive been mentioning all morning, temperatures drop 10 to 15 degrees with this cooler jet stream the the next seven days its all good from here, but today 87 degrees expected in san jose, East San Jose at 90 degrees and milpitas 88, in the east bay these will be some of the warmer temperatures, east bay, i know, ive been talking about the cool down but you will see a slight cool down, walnut creek 89, concord 92, antioch 92. Peninsula a high of 73, in daly city and san jose no 80s, all 70s for today and it will stay that way for the next several days. North bay, santa rosa high of 85, novato 87, and point reyes at 68 degrees. Looks great out here as well, at least traffic is moving towards the bay bridge, thats the berkeley curve. A crash has been reported west 580 coming over toward the split with west 80 and that is right there at the maze. I see a little more slowing, see these head lights jamming up and letting loose but that may just be because theyre splitting off to the freeway, we will track that and see whats happening behind that roadway. On the maps the Speed Sensors dont show any other additional problems but a little build through the maze, consistent build over at the bay bridge because the metering lights are on, the upper east shore freeway moving very well, same thing for the north bay. Traffic is throwing through union city, at mallory there is a disabled vehicle at the off ramp. Porroblemhe feway and lanes are open. Should be getng a crew out there with a tow truck. Th south bay a gentle easy build and no major problems on this system getting over from Castro Valley over toward the peninsula, redwood city you have a couple routes taking you over the san mateo and dumbarton bridges, we have a variety of times as well. Map those out on your waze system. Make sure you join nbc bay area wazers, thats our team and the animation shows you how to do that by linking through your profile and making sure that you are a member of our team. We reviewed 20 years worth of documents and safety records and found consistent issues that raised serious safety concerns surrounding oroville dam itself. Everything from a 15 foot crack in gate 8 to cracking trunnion rods that maneuver those Flood Control gates themselves to other issues that state officials insist are not an immediate cause for concern, but raise serious questions for some safety engineers we spoke to. When i show you that, what does that say to you as an engineer . It tells me weve got a problem and it tells me that were lucky that it hasnt manifested itself to a great problem and a crisis. Is the rest of the dam safe . Yes, i think from, you know, todays assessments, inspections we have had Structural Engineers looking at those cracks. So today, yes. Obviously we need to keep monitoring. We need to improve our maintenance programs.
