Police are responding to an explosion of some sort that happened in midtown, manhattan near the Port Authority bus terminal. What are your sources telling you . Savannah, this is very early in the investigation. We dont yet know how powerful or large this explosion was. We dont know for certain this was a natural gas explosion or an intentional act. We know this incident prompted a significant response on the nypd and the Fire Department here in new york. We know the nypd dispatched the arms squad. Thats usually Standard Practice in this incident. Preliminary information we are getting is, this is or may have been a lone act. They have somebody they are looking to talk to right now. So, whether or not that person turns out to be just somebody tied up or whether or not this is some sort of intentional incident. Thats something that is very much under investigation. As you said, we have an explosion at 42nd and 8th avenue. We are looking at images coming to us. We can see a Massive Police response, as you have described. Police said many ambulances have been requested. As you mentioned, we dont know if this is something done as a precaution or whether there are any kind of injuries connected to this explosion.
