Only two articles got voted out of the house that may be what were looking at here, at least where Speaker Pelosi gives some of those trump district democrats articles to vote against even if she really wants to make sure theyre all on the same page with at least one. I literally pulled from my family, our community, our lives to sort of really show people what chicago feels like and what it looks like. They were easy to watch and universal, i knew how those stories were impacting me. And as a fifth grader, i didnt really understand what that meant, but i knew that it was a compliment and i think i just always felt like that was my superpower, to write and tell stories. Yeah, i think everyone is going to feel uncomfortable with that scene when they get pulled over because either youve been in that position where youve been behind the wheel or you relate more to the person pulling them over there are no villains, its not black or white. It was selfdefense. Power to the people. I can hear some people who might watch that scene and say theyre no heros, why are they the heros on the story, they killed a man at the beginning of the movie. What would you say to someone who has that feeling i would say that we kill a Police Officer and it is a movie, it is fictitious. Black people are killed by Police Officers in real life almost every day and that is not a movie for us thats real life so all we really wanted to do was flip the narrative so if anyone is upset that youre seeing Violence Toward a Police Officer on a movie screen, imagine what its like to see it happen to you in real life and nothing happens because of it. Its purposely written on the page and its on screen that you see a picture of the Police Officers family on the dooshboadoos dashboard when he gets in the car. Thats my way of reminding people he has kids at home, too, he has a wife waiting for him. These are all people and we keep bumping up against each other. It really is our history coming back and haunting us.
