Firefighters knocked down that fire, rushed the three people to the hospital. No word on the cause of that fire. All right. Lets check in with rob mayeda. Hes got what could be the lead story tonight. Were talking about a major heatwave on the way, rob. Reporter yeah, and weve had heat spells before which may have lasted a day or two. This has the potential of being four to five days. Now, outside right now, its not too bad. As you see, san jose, about 58 degrees. Highs earlier in the 80s, so pretty nice right now. Well be cool for one more day heading into the morning. San francisco 55 degrees, but the sea breeze is not going to be as strong. We still manage highs in the 70s. Well get there again tomorrow. Around walnut creek, this is a likely candidate for approaching 100 degrees midway through next week. Currently 64 degrees after highs earlier were in the mid80s. So the sea breeze, onshore winds still happening, which is helping to keep our temperatures comfortably cool on the coast. But the wind speeds tomorrow wont be as strong, and the marine air itself is going to get compressed down. As High Pressure builds on top, you can think of it as the ceiling lowering in the room as we go through the next few days. The cooling push of that marine air is going to be pretty reduced over the next few days and were not seeing much in the way of low clouds. So without the coolant to the ocean airconditioning and without the sea breeze reaching our inland valleys, that is going to set the stage for the big warmup. Tomorrow morning 40s and 50s to start. High temperatures during the day tomorrow will range from the mid to uowntown san jose and likely closer to 90 around san martin and morgan ll similar story around concord. 80s back towards bayside and hayward. You notice the peninsula, a spread of 70s to mid80s tomorrow again. The excessive heat watch isnt for tomorrow. It does get started on monday. San francisco again climbing through the mid70s and north bay temperatures up towards santa rosa, sonoma, and yountville probably some of the warmest spots well see tomorrow with highs close to 90 degrees. Were jumping forward now to memorial day monday. You begin to see a lot of 90s and red showing up on the map. By tuesday, fuchsia is a nice color except when its on the temperature map. You can see how those areas from napa over to concord and antioch close to if not slightly above 100 degrees. So a summersized ridge of High Pressure shutting down that marine air influence. Heres the reason why we think those temperatures will peak around wednesday and thursday. Youll notice the high is really locked in through the middle part of the week. Then by friday, well have to watch this upper level lowey wh is approaching the cost. Once that low does near the coast, it will bring in some cooling. But it also may trigger some scattered showers up here on the north coast. Ordinarily that would be a good thing, but after four to five days of some dry weather, sometimes these can generate thunderstorms that dont bring rain all the way down to ground level. So thats something well watch for next weekend. We do think it will be cooler but stay tuned on that upper level system as we head towards next weekend. So here now a look at your sevenday forecast. San francisco and youve been looking at that sevenday forecast on the bottom of the screen thinking we had some typos in there. Mid80s, San Francisco. Well see 80s and low 90s bayside midweek. Valley temperatures soaring close to 100 degrees in the hottest places tuesday and wednesday. So really its four days, memorial day through thursday, where you have the excessive heat watch. But stay tuned. Friday, maybe one extra hot day before we watch those changes approaching next weekend. So its a case where the unofficial start to summer just hit fast forward to those numbers right like july and august. There you go, terry. Back to you. Thanks very much.
