So theyve issued a 24hour psps for today and tomorrow for 103,000 customers. 18 counties in the north bay and sierra foothills. This includes over 5,600 customers in napa. 210 customers in sonoma. You should have received an alert from pg e to let you know if this affects you if you live in the area. Pg e says its learned from the preventative outages in the past so if there are going to be outages theyll be smaller in size and shorter in length. The same fire that trapped 200 people who were rescued earlier yesterday. Evacuation orders are still in place for several communities in the area. Its burned 73,000 acres and is still out of control. The pandemic is changing the way we do all kinds of things including how the red cross will help some of those fire victims. Weve seen red cross volunteers assisting each of the bay area wildfires. Theyre hoping to allow for social distancing and when possible helping place people in hotel rooms instead. We bring food to them in boxes and put it outside the rooms. Were doing a lot of virtual case management. Were calling people that are in those hotels and asking them what they need, how we can help. Obviously that can increase the cost of responding so the red cross is urging people to donate, and they can always use more volunteers. The red cross also calling for blood donations. Firefighters in Southern California have their hands full with several new fires including the two on your screen right now. On the left the bobcat fire which started north in the Angeles National forest. No homes are threatened. On the right the bad news is the valley fire started saturday about 30 miles east of san diego and that fire has already destroyed ten structures and more are threatened. Both fires are currently out of control. 5 46. Also in Southern California a family could face jail time for several wildfires burning about 75 miles east of los angeles where some 3,000 homes have been evacuated from the el dorado fire. It is 5 contained. No homes themselves have actually been burned. Firefighters say the whole thing sarted when somebody had a smoke machine at one of those gender reveal parties.
