Thousands of ballots have been counted but still tens of thousands left across the country. The race is still too close to call but if fieden webiden were two own winning georgia put him one electoral collect short. Biden is catching up in the key states as they count mailin ballots. Remember, trump discouraged his supporters from using mailin ballots. Democrats did use them and because they are generally counted last these mailin ballots as the last few trickle in, postmarked, of course, by election day, we are seeing biden make huge gains. Take a look at pennsylvania this morning. Pennsylvania biden has 3,310,000 and trump has 3,296,000. They could not count the mailin ballots in pennsylvania until election day. They pointed out mailin ballots are arduous to count. We are counting hundreds of thousands of ballots in an industrial process and its like an assembly line. First, you know, you got the envelopes, you have to sort them, then you have to open them, and then you have to open them again to get the secrecy envelope out and somebody sits there at a desk and pulling the contents and the ballots have to be back bended and prepared for the scanner. Look at georgia that flipped overnight in bidens favor. Biden 2. 5 million, trump 2. 44. We learned georgia plans a recount. Wisconsin has offered one too. These are generally allowed by law when the vote is very, very close. In wisconsin, the Trump Campaign would have to pay for that recount. There have been reap counts in wisconsin before but they have never moved the needle anywhere near as much as President Trump would need the needle to move for him. President trump held a press conference in thursday in which he said a lot of things that just simply were not true. The Major Networks were watching this. They pulled their coverage away and, indeed, last night on nbc nightly news, lester holt chose not to run any sound bites from this press conference and no video, but showed stills. In that press conference, President Trump said without offering a scintilla of evidence he said the Supreme Court should decide but didnt offer what the argument he would bring before the court would be. Following the president s wild accusati accusations, Adam Kinzinger said the following. The congressman added his capitalizati capitalizations. We didnt add those. California voted overwhelmingly democrat for the president so joe bidens victory wouldnt be a surprise here. But the battleground states trend blue. We wanted to know how the bay area voters are feeling about this. Kris sanchez is joining us live from san jose with the voices of the people. Reporter we talked to a lot of people. Let me tell you folks are feeling very weary and not waiting up late watching for the changes in the returns but show you where california stands right now. 55 electoral votes go to joe biden has 65 of the vote in the state and donald trump 33 . The votes are still counted here in california like in the battleground states. It looks like joe biden will likely secure 270 electoral votes necessary for election and the courts have not intervened in a meaningful way in the Trump Campaign favor as scott mgrew reported. Even with that some folks think when this is over, it will really be over. If President Trump loses, i dont think hell go quietly, i really dont. And so that is going to be the tough part on, i think, biden would have been gracious if he lost and trying to unite the country. Like to be honest like im past the over two elections because i feel like its not fair and its really not the peoples voice. We all put a lot of votes in it and they all say they want to make sure the outcome is fair and accurate and that will lead to better path to tomorrow whatever the outcome is. Kris, thank you. Neighbors in Contra Costa County are preparing for another day of protests after one of the homeowners around that neighborhood hung a mannequin from his home with reference to joe biden. Sharon is live for us in brentwood. This is to show us how the protest got especially violent overnight. Sharon . You can definitely feel the tension out here. This is why the homeowners around here, they say this home did not look like this when they went to bed last night. You can see the damage that was done smashed windshield here. And egg shells everywhere. Around midnight, protesters threw rocks and eggs at the home here and damaged the vehicle. This is why protesters are so upset. Neighbors driving by the home yesterday were shocked to see a mannequin that said sleepy joe cheater hanging from the home. The homeowner was asked to take it down and police took it away but the protest and emotional changes grew through the evening. Neighbors were saddened to see the violence and vandalism they believe were caused by people outside their community. I came out of my house trying to talk calmly to people. It was past that. I saw one of my other neighbors who i never met, he was getting into an altercation to somebody and he turned around, Walking Around and somebody threw a bottle at his head. Some of the neighbors were writing with chalk beautiful things on the street. I know things are on the street written now and they were not from their children. Everybody is coming out and it was peaceful. Reporter the naacp was also out here last night investigating. In the meantime, police say they will keep the mannequin and forward the case to the secret service because it involves a political figure. However, they say it doesnt appear the homeowner committed a crime. We have seen a couple of lightning strikes off the coast but, so far, we have also continued to monitor for the potential that we could see some lightning in parts of the bay area later on this evening. So far still quiet but seeing light rain move in farther to the north south of ukiah. Mostly light rain and what we are expecting for the spotty showers to get a little bit more widespread later on today. We will be tracking that. In the meantime, its really windy. I want to show you the high wind gusts we have had around the bay area. Very early this morning, a wind gust of 58 mt. Kamalpsa. We will talk more about the winds, Cool Temperatures and more about the rain coming up. The blustery wind and rain and cold are ingredients we could see late today when the first storm of the season strikes. Mix that with a pandemic and there could likely bring some problems with that. They have had to navigate different restrictions, changing coming and going, then implement the Outdoor Dining if they had the space. Now they got a hang of the Outdoor Dining, we mentioned the weather which could impact their business. If youve been outside at all today you may have felt that wind. I felt it both here and when we were in marin county and it was also felt in san jose. Take a look at this. We had crews in san jose when the Outdoor Dining tent at chiles decided to lift off the ground and, thankfully, nobody was hurt. A lot of activity on the stage behind me and doing sound check and lots of people on the stage and seen more activity leading toward some sort of statement from joe biden later today. We expect and Kamala Harris expected to speak as well. They have not yet clenched the 270. Not officially and not according to the nbc news decision desk, but they app to be moving in that direction. Lets talk about some of the numbers. Arizona one of the states where frankly nbc has been a holdout. Right now joe biden is leading that state are 43,000 plus votes over President Trump. President trump has been catching up, just not catching up at a fast enough pace to where it appears he will be able to win that state. We are still waiting for more vote count out of there. Then there is nevada where joe biden is actually widening his lead. At one point he doubled it and standing at 20,000 votes recovery President Trump in nevada. Look at the map. These are the outstanding states. Six, including alaska. Five are battle grounds. We are waiting for those states to be called but right now, the number seems to be trending in joe bidens direction and that accounts for the activity and excitement here in wilmington. Four races in the u. S. Senate, two in georgia, yet to be called. Lets look at the forecast. We have been waiting for this rain. Are we going to get a lot of it . It doesnt look like a lot of rain but extreme drought going on in the north bay we will take every drop we can get and the way we have to go throughout our winter season. Its nice to see the door opening up for more storm activity rain to move into the bay area. Here is a look at the system as it is moving in and shows spotty activity here but we have felt the cooldown of the cold front that has made it through. We are tracking it with storm ranger. The rain is very spotty. Its the red scan we are seeing there. We are the only station with a mobile droroppler radar. We parked it on San Bruno Mountain and give us a minutebyminute update as the rain is moving in. Lets talk about the winds. Its so gusty out there. We are looking at breezy winds into the afternoon. Here we are at 5 00. We are still seeing those winds up to about 22 to 25 Miles Per Hour in parts of the north bay and east bay. Going into the evening, the winds will calm down so we dont have too much longer to worry about the Patio Furniture and everything blowing around in the yard. Lets go through our hourbyhour outlook for the rain. We take it through 4 00 and we are starting to see these cells popping up in the north bay, included in those cells could be a few isolated lightning strikes and small hail with this being our first system. Also a very cold one and will provide a lot of energy to the atmosphere but not all of us will see that activity. You can notice how spotty it is even going into 7 30 this evening, vem hry hit or miss ra. Tomorrow, looks like we are in between the two systems so we will take a break from the rain chances but still going to be windy and chilly. Then sunday morning, we are starting to see that rain coming back and by 11 30, we are seeing light showers moving through and very spotty activity once again that starts to taper off by sunday night. Looking at how much rain we may see, possibly a quarter of an inch of rain depending where the heavier cells decide to set up but some of us may barely measure anything and looking to be on the light side over the course of a couple of days. Sierra snow is looking look into the upper elevations and may get up to a foot of snow in some of those elevations above 6,000 to 7,000 feet. Lets go through this forecast.
