We have one hot spot in effect this morning at 6 08 for those of you who take 680 southbound. Take a look. Its pretty big accident as you come through alamo. You are down to 3 lanes closed. I will keep an eye on that and have more ahead. Good morning here at 6 11 from the Realtime Traffic Center track the main commutes and for the most part they are not i am throwing remote around. So i feel like i am qualified to say these things. Also. Also the traffic person i know whiz bad getting ware. Its good getting most places here at 6 14. Taking a look at your main travel times, you are in the yellow in the altamonte pass as well as the east shore freeway. But really only that slightly slower than we saw say at 4 30 this morning. So not bad at all on the roadways. Highway 4 and 101 still in the green at this hour which isgreat news. Pretty good zooming into tistar slow things down southbound 680 as you are headed into san ramon. I did check and its now just the number one and number 2 lanes that are blocked. They have the number 3 lane opened. This is southbound 680 right there. Theres an accident in play. They are trying to move it as quickly as possible. In the south bay, the good news is this commute doesnt heat up until later of nortound 101 at mckey that accident on the right shoulder slowing you down heading into the south bay area this morning. And still slowing down commute times as you head out of the altamonte pass to 14 Miles Per Hour and back up to a running speed closer towards the dublin interchange. That is grass fire on 880 southbound and usual slow spot as you approach the san mateo bridge. Seems to be slowing things down but not terribly. Richmond san rafael bridge no emergency construction in play. No lane closures. Thats regular slowing as you are headed into marin this morning. And the san mateo bridge once you get past the brush fire a little smoke in the fire department. You are just fine. Its slow going in the westbound direction. But its not terrible, darren. All right. I got to start off with the fantastic view of the sunrise this morning. That from our camera on top of sutro tower looking towards the east. What great start to this day. Numbers out there right now are where they were yesterday. 62 in concord. 56 in San Francisco. 52 in santa rosa. Sunrise came up at 6 05 this morning. So, we are getting well into the sweet spot for that low angle light. Lets talk about how things will feel a bit different today for those of us inland. Its going to be subtle. I wouldnt say theres a cool down coming for inland locations but if we compare to these daytime highs. Theres concord going to 93. Livermore to 93 as well. San jose will hit 85. If i do the comparison with yesterday, its little drop. So we will be 3 degrees cooler in concord today. 3 degrees cooler in livermore. One degree cooler in san jose. Hit 86 today and you will hit 85 today. So at least its moving in the right direction even if its not a significant change. Its going to feel warm. Lets do the same comparison for communities and cities in and around the bay. So fremont, hayward, oakland and is a rafael. From the mid70s to the mid 80s. 83 in fremont today. 74 in oakland. 84 in san rafael. And theres a little change here. But some of us are up a little, some of us are down a little. Its not a clear trend right in from the bat. The other thing is with the pretty view off the start where we looked off towards the east with the clouds from the tower, we have got just one little limited patch of the marine layer. That cloud would have made it look like it was a much more impressive day for low clouds. Its an impressive day for the city of San Francisco. And the marin head lands and some of the communities over here in the east bay theres just a Little Finger fog and low clouds working its way across the bay. But everybody else is waking up to clear skies this morning. Its sunny out there. And thats a pattern that we will see pretty much wherever you are for the rest of the day. There are low and mid90s inland. We talked about those numbers. We will top out at 83 for napa today. Theres vallejo going to 80. The real headline in the forecast, is actually the weekend. Let me show you why as we look at the 7day forecast here, you dont see a lot change. Maybe it gets warmer, and it cools down a little bit through the week. But on saturday, bam, theres going to be spike in the heat. We will go to 97 for the high inland on saturday. That will be noticeable. And it wont be so much of an inissue if you are near the bay or near the water. We will be in the mid70s to low 80s for highs for most us throughout the 7day. But inland locations, this weekend, you will notice the heat pick up. So theres the heads up. See you with more on the rest of the forecast in a bit. Guys back over to you. Thank you. Its 6 18. We have new video coming into the newsroom. This just in a traffic crash is blocking two lanes on southbound 101 in jose by bailey road. Drivers should expect delays. Emily has more on that its not looking too good. This is one of the spots this morning that is really going to slow you down. Great news is its in the opposite of the commute. Most folks are not going that direction. They are going the opposite way. Lets zoom into the maps and we can see what we are talking about here. This is right this at bailey road. See two lanes shut down. This is usually a slow spot. Its slow and go in the northbound direction through morgan hill. And then off bailey road as well see the slow and go as you are passing by. Probably because the flashing lights and a little rubber necking. But in the southbound direction despite the fact two lanes are blocked, you can see it is not causing that much of a delay. Certainly theres a slow down as you approach that accident. But not so much because not so pad because again, this is in the opposite of the commute direction. A little further north in that if you continue on 101 northbound at mckey an accident off to the right. Thats in the clearing stages and should be out of there pretty shortly. New accident to report at least one lane is blocked. And in fact its probably looking more like two according to chp. Right this southbound 242 in concord. As you he off highway 4 its going to be slow and go and slow and goneg all the way into walnut creek as you hit 608. Theres the accident right there. Now off to the altamonte pass you see its slow through the altamonte pass that tracy triangle to 15 miles an hour. Then once you get through there, you are good at a regular running speed towards the dublin interchange. All the slowing on 608 south on dublin has cleared. We are seeing a little residual slowing westbound on 84. As note, in the top right hand corner of the lefthand corner of the screen you can see 680 slowing due to an accident. Thats fully cleared. Three residual delays and a little slowing but know thats going to improve as the morning continues. Main travel times all in the yellow. With the exception of the south bay in the green. And your slowest is through the altamonte pass but that should slacken up shortly. One of the great things about having cameras every where is we can show off all sides of the gloomy area.
