Reporter we cant thank you enough, merry christmas, happy holidays to both of you. If you want more information to help, go to our website, kpix. Com. And we cant say high and dry because the temperatures arent high and were not really dry. If you d the interesng because we have a layer cake of clouds. Stthe low patchy stuff, we all have the high clouds overhead, and if you look from the top of the sales force tower, you can at least see the mid level layer just catching the lights of the east bay. Tomorrow morning we wake up to the gray once again. Right now 53 in livermore, 55 most other locations. Santa rosa at 52. This was today from the morning all the way pretty much through sunset. All the bay socked in with either the mid level clouds or in somewhat more impressive situations, this was dense fog on the roadway. And we should look at this as our example for what Tuesday Morning will be like. Not much is changing. Moisture in the ground and humidity is left in the air, so well likely see a repeat of patchy areas of fog. So if you had it this morning, plan for it tomorrow. If you didnt have it, know you could have it tomorrow. And look at this line of clouds. Thats where were seeing the next line of very light showers that will try and get in here for the second half of tomorrow. Well play it forward on the futurecast. Watch the time, bring this ahead and by the time weve gotten to tuesday night late, that says 11 00 p. M. Weve already started to see the light showers arrive in the north bay. This wont be heavy rain. It will be more noticeable in the predawn hours of wednesday. And notice how we have rain off the coast, but it pretty much falls apart before coming on shore. Still, we cant rule out the chance of some light rain on wednesday. Its not the kind of rain that adds up to accumulations. Shouldnt impact the drive, although maybe the windshield wipers go for a second or two on the drive to work on wednesday. Thats really about it. Theres clearly a focus up in the north bay, and once you cross the golden gate theres nothing. Were back up to 119 percent average rainfall for the water year, and that starts october 1st, and that will take us through next september with 65 percent of average for San Francisco, close to that in san jose, and livermore looking at 31 percent of average. So good catch up considers how dry the start of the season was. Daytime highs tomorrow, low 6 others for much of the south bay. Theres campbell at 61. Milpitas hits 60. Well go to 55 in brentwood, danville 56 tomorrow. Pleasant hills going to 55. Numbers in the north bay in the low to mid50s. 55 kentfield, up north ukia goes to 57 for the daytime high. And across the sevenday forecast, this all looks a lot more impressive than its all likely going to be because if you just look at tuesday and wednesday, its rain on both days, but we know much better. Rain doesnt get here until very late on tuesday, mainly focused only in the north bay, and any showers wednesday is out by 10 00 or 11 00 in the morning. And the chance of rain on friday, late friday, and should be out by the weekend. Back over to you. We got it, thank you. Coming up, drawing the line. Public works crews in fairfax recently modified the road that connects to downtown, and some people are upset. Reporter so wheres the line between perception and reality . In the town of fairfax its right here on cascade drive. This is what much of cascade looks like. A broken yellow line separating the 2 lanes. But in this area the road narrows and becomes a single lane. Or does it . This has not been changed into a onelane road. But what has happened is that it feels that way. Reporter the fairfax mayor lives on cascade and says traffic often moves to fast. So the Public Works Department erased the center line and painted this line on one side to make the road look narrower. It was just meant to slow cars down, but there was one problem. Public works never told anyone they were going to do it, including the mayor herself. The communication, um, the communication, there was a glitch in the communication. Reporter thats caused a lot of confusion. Many drivers believe they are supposed to stay within the white line, although legally they have full use of their side of the road. Others see it as a newly added bike or pedestrian lane. It feels that way, so people say its a fulls sense of protection. Reporter mark and jane dont mind a bit of confusion is it makes drivers pay attention. I think it makes more of a statement to the cars that there might be people walking on the road and you need to slow down. Reporter but others say the confusion is a disaster waiting to happen. There needs to be input from the entire community before anything else is done. Reporter so you think it should be reversed right now . Absolutely. Reporter the mayor said shed like a chance for public to weigh in on the issue which she says should have happened in the first place. In fairfax, john ramos, kpix 5. Two dozen dogs were in the van that was stolen overnight. It was found today, but len ramirez has more on what happened in between. Reporter police say the van was parked here in the extended stay parking lot on south fremont boulevard and it was stolen some time either late last night or early this morning. But it didnt get very far because the van was equipped with a gps tracker that allowed the Oakland Police to find the van and rescue the dogs. The stress of the ordeal seemed to show on the dogs faces, but here they were, 24 hours in all shapes and sizes, safe once again in caring hands. They were really scared, but they appeared to be fine. All the dogs were alive. Reporter the caper began in the fremont extended stay Hotel Parking lot. The driver of the van turned in for the night, but left the van running with the dogs inside, the airconditioning on, and the keys in the ignition. When the driver came back to check on the dogs around 5 30 this morning, the van was missing, and she called police.
