Thousands of protesters marched across the Golden Gate Bridge this afternoon. That is the view from chopper five. The demonstrators were peaceful at the start of the protest. We saw many of them walking along the bridges sidewalk. As Wilson Walker shows us that did not last long. I cannot tell you how many people were expected at this protest but i could tell you the crowd that showed up was absolutely tremendous. Every direction you looked around the bridge there were lines of people waiting their turn to get on the northbound side walked ahead over towards marin. It was a huge crowd. It took some patience if you wanted to get over there. We took a little time. We wandered around and talk to some of the folks who came out of here out here. We asked them what they were thinking. This is crazy. Almost 2 weeks into the protests we have this many people out here. We are doing this on a historic u. S. Landmark and it makes it even better. It moves me to see all these people trying to make a change. So much of this has been going on for so many years. I really want my children to be able to live their lives in the way that every other child wants to live their life. That is why i am here. I am here to march so that someday we can get there. Absolutely no problems out here today. That is unless you are trying to drive over the bridge. All of those people that walked over to marin on the sidewalk had to come back. I dont think the sidewalk would carry them all the other direction so they spilled into the southbound lanes of traffic for a little while. Most people having made their way back over here by 3 00. No estimate on the crowd size. I must say it was impressive. Doctors say they are not so good for preventing virus transition transmission. Here is a moment where we can change things. Is it worth the risk . I said yes. All the demonstrators wore masks at this march today but they say it was impossible to say six feet apart. I think it is a danger. I think it is a danger. That is why Health Officials set up this popup site and encouraged protesters to use it even if they do not show symptoms of infection. There was pretty much no social distancing happening. I wanted to make sure i did it a symptomatically i did not a symptomatically spread it to my friends and if i am going to future protests i dont spread it further. A few hundred people had already signed up for appointments this weekend. This terrible disease is disproportionately affecting people of color. It feels contradictory to do the protest and also not be tested and keeping safe. None of the people i talked to said they had any symptoms but they want to have a piece of my. It is to keep people safe, keep the friend safe and keep the community alive. Most people are able to get an a plymouth the following day. This mobile site will be open again tomorrow. Union members and Community Activists took any at the site where cattle state park wants to. As much as napa valley wineries have been looking forward to the new saccade a lot of them by surprise. Yesterdays order to resume winetasting came down so late and with no advance warning so a lot were unprepared to reopen today. This winery is one of the lucky ones. They are one of the few wineries that are allowed by law to sell food so they have been using their outdoor picnic area to attract business. When the order came down they were able to mobilize about 30 people to staff the tasting room. For them the ability to offer that is huge. We sell 100 of our wine here at the winery or online. The building for us to do tasting is critical for the success. Getting people back here today we are just so happy. Tasting is by reservation only to keep numbers down. Plastic shields separate tasters from pores and inside and out is in a constant state of sanitation. The new protocols are allowing 20 of normal business. We are going to have courtyard tastings. We are getting attempt to do some tastings. We are going to be spreading out things the best we can. For today we had to kind of stick with what we had today. The same is true at chimney rock ryan we. The indoor tasting is closed an appointment ovi tastings done on patios. It is just the first day but customers are not complaining. I could get used to this. Michelle perry who manages direct to consumer sales says that will probably be necessary. I think the social distancing in the safety and protocols will be here to stay. We are anticipating to crop back to where we were by no means run back. Napas wine merchants have actually done well during the lockdown with online sales doubling and tripling in the last three months. Wine lovers also want the experience especially as a way to decompress. David clark has a personal stake in the black lives Matter Movement but does not mind taking a short break from it. It is really important to have a balance in life and i just watch tv all day and see the tragedy that is happening in the world. Life has its struggles. It will come back again tomorrow just not a strong. Lets play this into sunday. As a get into the afternoon the wind is back but instead of seeing 20 to 35 miles an hour gusts we see gusts 1520. Still breezy and still not good for allergy sufferers but it is not going to be the kind of when that will be burrowing umbrellas. Same storm will drop a little bit of snow in the sierra tonight. It has to be us in my opinion that speak truth to power that call it out no matter what the consequence is. We have to speak. We have to not let anything go. Our country is in trouble. The basic reason is race. Lets let that message marinate for a moment. As we segued to actual nfl business with the 49ers Kyle Shanahan in happier times hugged by his dad after winning the championship. Today he and his Coaching Staff were waiting to return to their offices. Coaches from the other 31 teams were allowed back in today. Then i had to call someone to help. I needed help. Given the social climate many have theorized it is up to the Younger Generation moving forward. Leaders like this young lady who has been working to make a difference since she was 9. Lets take it to marin county. People have a lot of strong opinions. I think that is amazing. As for hollis bed bilger, the 15yearold marin siren for Saint Jude Research hospital will treat kids with cancer free of charge. Her foundation is about to hit the 500,000 mark.
