The governor had to address all these issues and while he did not call out the federal receiver by name as you heard the Assembly Member do, he did talk at length about the relationship between the state and federal government and how they both have to Work Together to manage the prison system. The governor says hes working with a judge to sort out that relationship. The governor seeming to point to some frustrations as to how that is working. So, a lot of conversation still to come about the blame here and then the whole conversation about how you get prisoners out of the prison. That was a big issue the Group Brought up, they want to see more prisoners released. How did the governor respond to that request . He mentioned his targets that hes trying to get below 100 . But they want to see many more prisoners released. They point to the fact that about half the prisoners in the population are considered low risk offenders and they want to see many more people brought out of the prisons.
