Happened here at the end of this trail on whats called battery crosby but more marshalls beach is the more obvious landmark. What happened is that there were people hiking down there and they heard someone calling for help. They called 911 and the coast guard responded as well as the Fire Department. This was a major rescue because the person had either slipped or fallen down the side of the cliff and was stuck there. Somehow, unable to get out. That is where the Fire Department came in. This is from when it actually happened. We are able to locate this individual. You can see we have our rescue swimmers have just caught the subject. They have just gotten the subject onto a rescue board. What they will do is take our victim to the boat over there. Now as a result of the conditions out here basically the coast guard came out day helicopter, shed light on the situation. The two swimmers on the board got really close to where this person was, this man. He was able to slide down, get on the board and then they had to paddle two football fields out off shore because of the rough waters to get to the boat. At this point we are told the person is in stable condition, has been taken to the hospital to be checked out for hypothermia, scratches, any kind of injuries that would be received as you fall down a cliff side. They say he is stable. They are working to figure out why and how this person was out there. Those are still question marks. At this point at least he is safe. Reporting live. Emily turner.
