If you are going to put it in the mailbox, it needs to be postmarked by tomorrow which means it needs to go into the mailbox before it gets picked up that day. Otherwise, it will not be counted. The battle between a San Jose Church and Santa Clara CountyHealth Leaders is going before a judge. Parishioners packed the pews at Calvary Chapel in san jose sunday. Services are still being held despite the church facing more than 350,000 in fines. The church resumed Indoor Service two months into quarantine, hosting anywhere from 100 to 600 people without face coverings. The county issued a cease and desist and sued the church. The church is fighting back, hiring a team of attorneys. State prison officials are facing a deadline to relocate hundreds of san quentin inmates under orders from a state appeals court. That is after three quarters of prisoners got covid19 and 28 died. 12 days ago, the Court Ordered the state to release or relocate half of san quentins prison population, citing the eighth amendment, prohibiting cruel and unusual punishment. The outbreak began with infected prisoners transferred from southern california. Now there are concerns of the same thing happening wherever the prisoners end up. An attorney following the case says it is unlikely officials will release the transfer details until after the prisoners have been moved. What theyre going to say is for security clock classification reasons, we will not know where they are done. The state has until wednesday to either comply with a court order or appeal it to the state Supreme Court but it is not clear if the justices would agree to hear the case. With uc berkeley suffering a major financial blow due to the pandemic, a Research Institute is on the brink of closure. The institute for the study of societal issues is expected to close by the end of the academic year. It is the only Campus Institute currently slated to shut down.
