Yesterday long cruise road and oak spring circle, north of gilroy its grown so far to 1500 acres its only 15 contained. The park fire on the right there making much more progress with that one is burning near morgan hill. Sir had 340 acres so far but 70 contained at this hour all the evacuations lifted at morgan hill but evacuations remain in place and gilroy so lets go there now kron fours will tran standing by with the latest well it looks smoky behind you. Yes, its gotten smoke here since the last time you see me even though theyve knocked down the flames, this is kenyada road and this is one of the locations where they had to evacuate people yesterday because the fire was racing through this area. Breathing is quite difficult at this time fortunately it is not windy. Let me quickly step out and show you the terrain you can see that firefighter. Often the distance right there just keeping a close eye on the situation. Look at how more importantly daria yellow the grass is it is dry ready to go up in flames which is why we have seen firefighters all up and down kenyada road just to make sure that they are ready to pounce on any fire that happens to move along this ridge year. Let me show you video that we got when we first arrived here about an hour ago you can see in the video along the ridge area near some homes that the fire was still burning quite actively at this time they focused their attention on that area we didnt see any fire drops at that particular time but in my there might have some crews nearby where they are able to spray some water on to that location and knock down the flames so those flames are gone, but the damage already down when the fire started yesterday afternoon. They evacuated people and thats great nobody that we are hearing has died or has had any major injuries but 2 structures did go up in flames in fact, heres one person talking about that. I could see the big thick black smoke and the huge flames, the flames where the house was burning were over the trees you could see it above the trees and the line the fire line was real big. And back live now we want to show you the area it seems like its gotten smoke here by the minute you can see well pretty soon you might not even see some of that texture of this hillside years of some hills taller than others because its been just a blanket of smoke, thats just got on top of this again fortunately it is not windy that could be a disaster because he could carry the embers from one location to the other but they are obviously going to update us on the situation calfire usually has an update every time at every fire at around 7 in the morning. Right now as we are still talking at this very moment, 1500 acres, 15 containment and it looks like its going to be days before they get full containment james darya i was talking about how cal fire continues to go up and down this location. Here it is right there and a lot of them are packed in there they are ready to roll as we are in if were not already were pretty darned close to fire season. Back to you oh, yeah, and just you know like every july 4th this weekend. Well so many fires. Started and right now theyre investigating, but theyre just worried about put these fires out. Thank you so much well check in with you later in only 15 james, at least the other one is 70 contained yeah firefighters getting the upper hand thankfully on the park fire thats the one in morgan hill is burning. Officials there looking to see if it was also sparked by fireworks. Theyre still determining that but neighbors say they did hear fireworks before the flames broke out. About 10 oclock last night we heard some fireworks going off and after them maybe half an hour after that we heard. Sirens going down it just kept going off no one you know for a lot and i guess people are trying to celebrate in. Unfortunately things bad things happen when youre doing a dry area like and there you can see up on the hill there. And you can still see some smoldering going on up on the hill. Yeah hes done road in morgan hill remains closed except for local traffic will keep you updated on firefighting efforts there. Meanwhile in the east bay, some neighbors in hayward not only had to deal with illegal fireworks but also with sideshows that went well into the night take a look. What firefighters typically see throughout an entire cern month contra costa fire captain george lang says the department put out 67 fires from 07 00pm to midnight, including this large one near oak hills and southwood drive in pittsburgh, extremely dangerous, especially because we were so busy. We didnt have a number of units that we would normally action fire at one point the fire threat in 20 homes nearby, but firefighters managed to save and protect all 20 meanwhile, 2 homes on chris park circle in any opera burning from another fire but were later saved by fire crews. Captain lang says all the illegal firework activity pretty strain on the resources saturday night were down to sending a single engines to most call. An oak spring circle, north of gilroy its 1500 acres in just 15 contained on the right the park fire. Is 70 contained this is the one burning near morgan hill. Its burned about 340 acres so far so the park fire. The evacuations have been lifted there in morgan hill but the other fire in gilroy. Proving to be more difficult kron fours will tran is standing by with the latest well. The right now for the firefighters, their biggest challenge will be breathing. We dont see the huge flames that we saw coming here at around 4. 30 to 5 oclock in the morning. But you can see look at the hillside area you have been watching this as close as i have boots on the ground but im sure your monitors can pick up just how smoky the situation is and continues to smolder look at off in the distance you can see here a fare thats where its smoldering but but an hour and a half ago he was not small during and i have video to prove it was actually on fire in this very difficult rugged terrain you can exactly drive up to it is just hillside after hillside. And you can see just how how much flames just ripping through that particular section. The hillside at that particular time. Let me show you because its hard to get to this is video from yesterday they actually had to use air drops im sure air drops are ready to go once the sun comes up even more so especially after the briefing at 7 oclock in the morning because the this is an area that its not residential like santa rosa fortunately, but they did have to do evacuations in this area yesterday. Even though they did evacuations 2 homes did go up in flames and hopefully not anymore. But there are homes dorian james there are still threatening at this time as the fire continues to march along this area of kenya on a road. Were not hearing of any injuries or any fatalities yet hopefully that will continue. But it looks like its going to be days before this fire is completely contained right now 15 containment we should get an update in the next hour or so from cal fire and keep in mind containment does not mean out containment means that you corral that word doesnt spread and spreading thats exactly what its been doing over the past say 12 to 14 hours because look at this on the right side of your screen. You can see what it did to this hillside here its charred. Its not small during anymore, but there are firefighters and we showed you earlier there are firefighters coming up and down kenyada road as theyre still dealing. The little patches of fire along the way jane story. Okay, thanks for the update. So many other murders of black men and women particular, but just the general disrespect of black and brown bodies in our nation. And i was moved to take action. To support a huge change this time for a huge change and i feel the ground for thats changes things are really shifting like. More people are starting to care and i want to harness that energy but also for myself i just wanted to do something. Im a singer. And a voice teacher and so i thought well i can put on a concert. Thats why i know how to do. So i reached out to katie shepherd my friend here in san carlos and fellow voice teacher and i said you know, lets put on a little concert. And she said yes and she said actually lets make it a really big concert lets take a 12 hours long. Lets think think. By famous from broadway and we can to expand and every step of the way that we have been putting this together. Said yes volunteering to performing and its all for free. This is all done by volunteers every penny has gone. To the n double acp Legal Defense fund or to the artist directly none of the organizers are receiving any compensation for this and that is and i think the reason everybody said yes these people feel like they want to take action they want to be part of the solution.
