John yeah we are going to gradually see wind speeds coming down guys but what a windy overnight into morning that we are in the midst of. Winds substantial all across the bay area, not just in those areas that we usually see herb are easiest of conditions looking outside right now conditions are pretty clear over San Francisco as these are dry offshore winds that are pushing the lot of that marine layer out to sea. So even though it is cool and dry with these dry conditions and of course with the strong winds fire danger is again a factor 30 to 40 Miles Per Hour gusts regularly all across the bay area, some of our notably more windy areas calistoga vacaville danville as well as fairfield and sonoma well into that 40 mile per hour range. Also not much calmer than that in San Francisco, Half Moon Bay oakland and hayward where winds have been gusting from 30 to 40 Miles Per Hour all morning long by 11 45am. Just before noontime, were still in the midst of some of the strongest of winds. They do come down somewhat into the afternoon your evening commute will still be breezy but a whole lot calmer than this morning has been and a little bit calmer yet into tomorrow as well red flag warnings extended into tuesday at 05 00pm while are wind advisories do expire today at 11 00am you can see that not just all the bay area but really the entirety of the region as a whole is lit up in red flag warnings as these dry and windy conditions just continue through the day today, 50s and 60s for your current temperatures, it is a mild start albeit a very windy start oakland and nap, but nice at 60 degrees as you step outside both hands on the wheel and both hands on your hats if you are walking to work. You can see just how strong it was up here in the north bay here in snow you can see that the wind was so strong it pushed over outdoor outdoor eating area you can see it is super strong i mean the gusts have range from anywhere from 20 Miles Per Hour to 70 Miles Per Hour 70 being the worst Case Scenario up in the mountains in in the ridges and also we have our cameras up in Solano County where you can see more strong winds, its very consistent throughout the entire north bay and that has caused major concern for wildfire danger in Sonoma Napa Marin solano counties all experiencing these high winds i can hear leaves in just blowing in the wind behind me now with wind blowing my here definitely a lot stronger closer to mount him where theres also a lot of wind gusts going on and theyre making my way there now but take a look at the map you can see all in purple the affected areas in the north bay in marin county where im at right now mill valley sausalito all covered in that purple meaning a lot of people thousands of people without power this morning, so its been taking a lot longer for the sun to rise could be that between 7 8 oclock before we see any daylight so its going to be pretty rough morning for those getting ready without power. You can see this one is the the street walking you see a lot of this throughout the east 14th street in fact in in a little here and you can see again some more branches down just obstructing the sidewalks a lot of people are having to walk around that it still really windy and i would say everyone be cautious look up like even where im at right now im making sure that im not part and are branches or anything because the wind is still very strong. I mean from san leandro through hayward and oakland winds in the 30 to 40 Miles Per Hour range right now even breezier than that currently in danville Fairfield Vacaville calistoga in sonoma winds have been closer to a 40 to 50 mile per hour range consistently, through the course of this morning, Half Moon Bay, San Francisco center fell petaluma all of us sitting in that same boat. This is 11 45am this morning, inching towards noon time and look at this were still in the midst of some really strong winds by the afternoon and evening commute right here winds starting to come down, but were still breezy just not quite as windy as we are this morning and by tomorrow morning things calming down even a little bit more so so at least theres an end in sight to this. But of course the strong winds all the dry tinder that we have the very dry humidity to these are very dry winds means he ghtened fire danger for the entirety of the bay area whether youre at the coast or whether youre further inland. Winds gusting regularly from 40 to 50 Miles Per Hour and we are going to see these red flag warnings all the way through tomorrow afternoon wind advisories expired 11 00am today. But they also light up the entire day the bay area weve seen wind gusts peaking as high as 80 in getting close to 90 Miles Per Hour up in upper elevations of lake county near middletown. Say holding a 82 Miles Per Hour peak wind gust during overnight hours. Pleasanton nearby there 60 mile per hours that was just a few miles south of pleasanton while oakland pittsburgh on mount diablo also checking in with winds as high the upper 50 mile per hour range during our overnight hours so very windy night dont be surprised if youre stepping outside their some branches, maybe even some garbage trash cans tipping over all over the roadway so watch out for some of those to breeze temperatures today this afternoon really looking good were in the 60s right at the coast and then 70s elsewhere, mid 70s for much of the peninsula low 70s across the south bay temperatures in the east bay in the upper 60s to low 70s with the union city at 69 berkeley at 71. Concord in walnut creek each at 76 degrees. Well in the north bay not much different than that highs also in a range of 70s for your temperatures santa rosa 76 sandra fell at 79 degrees. Happening today today, the city of oakland is expected to announce plans to resume street sweeping and parking management. After a brief pause, the city resumed at forcing parking meters and regulations back in july. But as of now street sweeping. The parking is not being enforced. Oakland mayor libby shaft though and City Council Members will be announcing new details in a press conference this morning at 10 oclock. Now to the north bay Fairfield Police are asking for help identifying a car connected to a deadly shooting. The shooting happened thursday october 15th around midnight in a parking lot on horizon drive west of Travis Air Force base and take a look at the suspect vehicle. This is what police have released, theyre looking for this dark green, 4 door sedan the driver in this vehicle fired several shots into a group of people striking and killing. A 22 yearold man named jose cortes if you have seen the car or you see this car contact the Fairfield Police. And its something that has resulted in some downed branches tipped over trash can so you into some debris is likely on the roadway to looking outside at San Francisco, its nice and clear these are offshore winds and thats dry winds that are keeping marine layer pushed well off shore at least they are a cool off shore winds meaning its not going to be at all a really hot day today in fact a nice cool one. Temperatures right now are cool and wind speeds are very significant take a look at some of our breezy us to various danville Vacaville Fairfield calistoga and sonoma are seeing winds gusting right now from 40 to 50 Miles Per Hour regularly and a 30 to 40 mile per hour range oakland. In Castro Valley you can see there firefighters coming into view crews say the strong winds were a big worry for them. Obviously the threat of the fire spreading rapidly when the winds are strong was top of mind for them there are thousands of customers in all 4 counties of the north bay that have no power this morning because the strong winds have made the genie decided they needed to shut off the power. Yeah were just seeing some major gusts up here on the hill above mill valley, just below mount him just like we thought just like meteorologist john trouble has been reporting. It is very windy appear very cold cold wind is what im seeing and driving appear on panoramic highway is just all debris. I mean just a huge branches really have to go slow and you got to take slow because not only is it so dark outside, but the debris, the high wind got to keep both hands on the steering wheels because its definitely a on out here take a look at video though up more north and here in santa rosa we got this from the Fire Department and you can see the wind is so strong it blows over some of the outdoor restaurant you can see very intense winds and its causing some damage. I mean it you look at the chp website you can see downed tree here fire sparking up here all across sonoma and napa counties theres been a lot of little fires that have sparked up so far theyve been able to put them out quickly we havent seen any huge wildfires sparked but now were seeing why of roads Power Outages out because of these high winds causing major concern for wildfire damage take a look at pthis other video our cameras were also up in Solano County and you can also see those high high winds and its been a very intense morning here in the north bay, how many people are without power. Were in sonoma napa counties a lot of counties all experiencing these Power Outages its going to be like this until the morning the sun hasnt been rising until about 8 oclock so its going to be dark for a long time now trying show you what i can considering how dark it is, but i think my hair kind of tells the story of how windy it is going to be heading up even more towards mount tam to show you because some of the gusts that were seeing on the mountain tops in the ridge tops are up to 70 Miles Per Hour. They are closed right behind me is complete darkness other than my own lights. Lets show you some other locations, not just a random of course all over the bay area in concord. Heres what pg and e is fearful love down lines down trees and sometimes the trees come down and with it they take down the lines as well and if the lines of full of how are they can fall down spark. But definitely an inconvenience for so many people it does not appear at this particular location in any major damage to that home but the winds were whipping you can see there.
