But well tell you more about how San Francisco could be affected by this starting as soon as tomorrow night. However restaurants will be allowed to offer takeout after 10 oclock essential businesses like grocery and drug stores can stay open after hours. Folks will be allowed to go out for walks and perform other routine activities the curfew set to be lifted tomorrow morning at 5 oclock the state wide curfew will be in effect until december 21st. Right now there is no curfew order for San Francisco county but as justine was just saying that could all change by tomorrow in just the past month covid19 cases in San Francisco county have nearly quadrupled local Health Leaders warned that if that trend continues, San Francisco could be moved to the purple reopening tear which is the states most restrictive as early as tomorrow. That is that fire that is still burning out of control tonight. The scene is happening right now at university in shattuck thats just west of the cal Berkeley Campus. This is now forced dozens to evacuate from nearby buildings. Police say that this fire started about 5. 30 this evening. We dont know a cause just yet but that is part of the Ongoing Investigation right now University Avenue is shut down in both directions in that area so fire crews can work to control that blaze just getting off the phone with. One of the berkeley fire chiefs on the scene there they are saying that this 7 story building. Theyre still trying to find exactly where this fire sparked. So they can put water on it and do whatever they can to extinguish the flames. And we do want to say that they fire is causing some really poor air quality in the east bay right now this is from purple air dot com. We would use this map a lot during a wildfire season to see polluted the air was with all the smoke from the wildfires showing us right now that the berkeley area is now up to 285. That is the particles and that is just really poor air quality really want to be in the 100 range to even be considered sort of good. Hey there jonathan in just seen in yeah, lets track Current Conditions were that fire is burning in the east bay over berkeley and were still seeing some smoke billowing out into the atmosphere and i know a lot of viewers youve been kind enough to send me your twitter reports who live in and around that area extremely poor air quality were does smell and look very smoky and hazy out there so please limit your Outdoor Activity as much as you can tonight if you do live in that area, stay indoors, especially if you do have any pulmonary or respiratory issues we are tracking wind speeds out there right now fairly calm anywhere from 3 to 9 mile per hour winds and wind direction out of the northeast heading to the southwest so no surprise that all areas in and around the bay area shoreline impacted with that poor air quality because of the wind direction and also the proximity of that fire, lets take a look at current satellite and radar very dry. This is now a 6 alarm fire its happening right now at university in shattuck thats just west of the cal Berkeley Campus police say that this fire started about 5. 30 this evening. It was on that in just seen several Fire Departments still on scene here tonight along university as you mentioned we are actually between and shot at and know be a street where these fire crews continue to just pour water onto this construction building a number of Fire Departments out here. Theres also a number of shops and restaurants that are along the stretch and the power was just shut out not that that long by pg and e crews and i believe thats because all the water thats being dumped on this construction site its creating a small river a small flow of water just pushing down on the westbound direction along university here if you take a look at some of the video that we have from earlier today you can see the flames that were breaking out as you said around 5. 30 this afternoon, a number of crews having to respond to this scene we know that at at least 5 different Fire Departments had to from nearby that would be oaklandalameda albany and piedmont of course others are on scene including Berkeley Police department. This building we know of was about 7 stories and it was under construction. 2 buildings nearby on east side and also another 2 buildings on the west side of this construction site. I had to be evacuated earlier today weve a lot of smoke that was sort of pouring up through the sky i sort filling up the air here its still very evident at this moment right now as crews continue to battle this blaze, they dont have it under control right now widespread response really trying to get it under control right now you can definitely smell it through your mask you can definitely see that its its still in the air very active scene number of people out here on the street sort of looking at my ring whats been going on in terms of this going to be a pretty noisy night here for probably the foreseeable future. Crews still working to get everything under control of course at this time we dont know what the cause of this is of course fire investigators will be taking a look into but theres still a lot of work that needs to be done out here tonight.
