Biden saying today that israel will receive the military assistance. It needs to win this war. Partners all across the region and the world. From the moment this crisis began. And at this hour, the border with gaza has finally been reached, secured, took much longer than Israeli Forces anticipated that it would. But they say now all territory has been retaken, though they acknowledge theres still the possibility of palestinian terrorists on the ground in israel. But now down at the gaza border, there is large milita y presence from israel has over 300,000 reserve troops have been called up. That is the most in the countrys history. Israeli defense minister calling for a total siege of gaza, which includes cutting off power, fuel and things of that nature going into the gaza strip. Some around the globe criticizing this move. But if you for a moment, think about im sure that you agree with me that you cannot expect to be providing electricity, water and energy to the very same enemy that has come across the border. And hes trying to kid also give us. But ihs not just israels border with gaza. That is contentious. If you look to the north of the border with lebanon, shelling there by the Israeli Forces killed 3 members of hezbollah as the Palestinian Islamic also took responsibility for an attack there with 4 of their members. And that is what has so many israelis on the ground nervous at this hour. Theyre anticipating that has these military operations continue . There will be retaliation. But the question is, where will those retaliatory attacks originate from . We would just be from gaza could include lebanon as well. Were taking a live look outside here on top of a mountain some clouds are forming and weve got some rain yesterday. Well see if theres more on the way for today and check in with meteorologist kyla grogan. Shes live for us now in the Weather Center. Afternoon. Hey there. Good afternoon. You can see behind me as we take a look towards the north bay. Some ominous clouds and that is where were going to see some of the clouds move in and the potential for. A little more of a shower as we get into the afternoon and evening. That will be probably more like drizzle showers will track it for you. Show you just a second. Current temperatures are pretty cool right now. So get 63 in San Francisco. 66 in oakland, 70 in san jose. 60s livermore, concord, santa rosa. And you can see Half Moon Bay just at 63 degrees. So continuing that cool run. This is what im talking about. You kind of look to the north of us and see that bank of clouds that is rolling our way. Another front tracking through today. And of course, the question is how much of it holds together to bring any rain towards us . Theres that low pressure system that is rolling across and its definitely bring some rain to the Pacific Northwest right now. But we kind of catch the tail end of it. So track you forward here and show you what im talking about. We get into about 3. 45, you see a few spotty showers popping up in the north bay kind of rolling across the bay. Unfortunately, right during rush hour. So that could mean were going to have some slick roads out there for you as youre headed help notice we get the overnight things start to clear out. We head into wednesday and now were talking about some really nice. Sunny skies are going to be with us throughout the day on wednesday and thursday. But today, still the possibility of a little bit of drizzle. And i do mean a little bit. Were talking about no measurements in 107. Its a very similar to what we saw here are the highs today. They will be cool because of course weve got that front coming in kind of reinforcing a little cool air behind it. And then weve got the cloud cover as well. So looking at mostly 60s across the bay, those low 70s will be inland spots like the inner east bay, south bay as we head up to the north bay. But around the bay itself, more 60s than anything another cool day. A live look here Half Moon Bay. And you can see some nice sunshine trying to break through, right . But the clouds will ultimately win the day. Ill be back in a little bit. Well talk more about our extended forecast and even Start Talking about the weekend. Believe it or not, for now, send it back to the desk. Thank you. Well go now to the south bay where a caltrain hit and killed a person in san jose. It happened just before 6. 30, this morning near skyway drive. A spokesperson says the train was headed northbound and they say about 97 passengers were on board, but no one else was injured. However, with these proposed changes, sidewalk vendors would now need to get a Sidewalk Vending permit from the city of hayward and those that are selling food would kpneed to get a mobile facility permit from the Alameda County. These permits would provide officials with the vendors, contact information, what theyre selling if they plan to be stationed a specific area on a sidewalk or if they plan to be roaming, there are fees that are accompanied with these permits and those who do not have a permit will they would be facing fines anywhere f 100 up to 1000 depending on the circumstance. Now the city of San Franciscos taking new legal action against 3 chinatown hotels accusing the owners of being a danger to the neighborhood and also ignoring warnings from the city kron fours Charles Clifford joining us now live from San Francisco with more on this lawsuit that was just filed today. Thanks for joining us. Charles. Good afternoon. Right now, im in a chinatown here in San Francisco where the city says the owners of the 3 buildings have failed for years to address some very serious problems. Thats going to take a look at some video now today in front of one of the buildings along powell street here, San FranciscoCity Attorney david chiu announced the lawsuit which is aimed at the multiple owners of these 3 sros, which is single room occupancy hotels. He says that for years the city has been trying to get the owners of these buildings to address problems, including rusted plumbing, exposed wiring, insect infestations mold and mildew issues, broken doors and locks lead paint, lack of emergency exits. And theyre asking in this lawsuit that the owners address these problems and also provide relief to the tenants, many of whom are immigrants here to the u. S. Many of them dont even speak english. Theyre looking for help for those folks as well. Now i talked to david jury said earlier that this, you know, filing a lawsuit was not there. First choice. They tried for a long time to address these problems. Lawsuits are not the first. Option for us to move forward. What were always trying to do is city departments. Our clients are always trying to work with landlords to bring conditions up to code and thats what they attempted to do with these landlords for a number of years. Unfortunately, the landlords did not do that. And that is why were here today. All right. Now, one of the buildings in question here is along powell street. Its listed as being for sale. We called the realtor listed on the nobody responded or was available for comment. But for now in San Francisco, Charles Clifford kron, 4 news. Charles, thank you. Coming up next here at noon and east bay city taking a new approach to responding to Behavioral Health calls. Why police will no longer be the first on scene. Plus, we learn more about the terrorist Group Responsible for killing hundreds of Israeli Citizens. So what is hamas and what is their end goal . But first, Castro Valley pride is calling on the school board to reverse its decision on a pride flag ban. Why they believe the ban. Why they believe the school board air wick. Air wicks limited Edition Fragrances are infused with natural essential oils for authentic seasonal scents that fill your home with warmth and cheer. Even the most chill of parents know when its time to go into protect mode. Nothing kills more viruses on more surfaces than lysol disinfectant spray. Happening tonight, the Oakland School board will meet to discuss repealing the ban that displaying the pride flag at school. This is been a heated topic at previous meetings. Kron fours will tran has more as it stands right now. If you go to the school, only 2 flags are flying. In front of the school, the American Flag and the state flag. But in previous years they were allowed to fly other flags, including welcome back to school. Be kind to kids week and then the pride flag that happens in june without any problems. But back on september, 12th the School Board Members by a vote of 2 to one voted to ban. Flags at the school. Only allowing the american and state flags and that caused a lot of people to be very upset, saying now youve gone too far. The School Board Members, theyve said that it was a special interests flag and to keep it neutral. Just the 2 flags should be flying at the got so hot that the Alameda County sheriffs deputies, they were actually called in at that meeting back in september just to keep the peace to allow the Board Members to ultimately vote. Well, a board member introduced a resolution that will be taken up tonight at 5. 30, to see if they can repeal that ban to once again allow other flags to be at the school. Got a chance to talk to parents. Heres their reaction to a possible compromise the way that the resolution is written now is a pretty egregious. Its its its very blanket and a unfortunate. Its very heavy around here. Its become a very sort of toxic work environment. Its been, you know, flags were removed. I welcome flags. Welcome to send. All thai flags were and its been very challenging and very divisive. This last month. We were here the day after september 12th, when they made that vote. Well, the superintendent said she was against the ban, but she will honor the Board Members and remove the pride flag. Sure enough. A week later, coincidence or not, byou be the judge. All of a sudden the School Board Members wanted to review her performance. She ultimately kept her job. But shes not here making any more comments, whether shes busy or just wont calm anymore. Shes not at the school to make any comments, but more than likely she will be there tonight at 5. 30, when the School Board Members decide whether or not to repeal the ban. And if so, perhaps well see more than just 2 flags flying at the school tomorrow. Happening tonight, the city of danville expected to hold a meeting to decide whether to allow the delivery of cannabis to residential areas. Danville has prohibited the use of cannabis since the states legalization. However, a new state law called the Medicinal Cannabis patients right of access act would lift danvilles current ban on the delivery of cannabis. This would happen on january. First, the city will also discuss whether to protect those who use cannabis for medicinal purposes. A live look outside right now so we can see whats happening here along the embarcadero in San Francisco. We have a cruise ship thats arrived here at the port and some clouds also pulled in. Meteorologist kyla grogan here. No details on the forecast for the rest of the day today. Do we need an umbrella . You know, i dont think so. I mean, maybe if youre in the north bay, take a jacket with you, maybe with a hood, right . But i dont think youre going to need any fulltilt umbrella. And certainly if you take a look at san jose there in full sunshine, so the further south you go kind of the sunnier. It is today. If we take a look at the Golden Gate Bridge and we look to the north, thats where the clouds are starting to pop up because thats where were going to see that front start to track through. First right now, though, take a look at temperatures. Low 60s in San Francisco. Its 70 degrees in nevado. 71 in antioch in saratoga really warming up at 74 degrees at this hour. So the wind is relatively calm with the exception of a little bit of a delta breeze happening. You can see in fairfield there about 17 Miles Per Hour. Its the march of the low pressure system. So we havent yesterday got another one today. And you guessed it. Theres another one on its heels set to come our way as we head into friday night and saturday, the could likely bring some more showers our way or at least some cloudy weather depending on where youre at. So if we kind of zoom out and look at the next week, you can see this pattern where these systems just kind of keep roland one after another. The really aimed at the Pacific Northwest. But sometimes we catch the tail of them. You can see another one there monday, trying to make its way through and bring us a few showers. This is a good thing and a lot of ways because obviously were still in fire season. So well take any of the moisture and kind of a little rain that we can get. The kind of keeps things a little bit better rather than worse when we get into this time of year, were very dry, but obviously for rain totals. This isnt that exciting. Thats what were looking at tonight. Its more like drizzle. Now we get into the friday night into saturday system thats trying to bring some more significant rain, particularly to the north bay. This could be a little bit overstated. But i do think along the coastal mountains up there, we could see above a quarter of an inch of rain. That would be friday night into saturday. So today looking out for those highs to be a little bit higher than yesterday, but still below normal, right . So inland, looking out for low 70s, mostly 60s around the bay. Now, what happens with this pattern where we keep having these fronts roll through is we cool down when we start to get the clouds and the rain, we warm up. We get the sunshine and you can see it here in our inland valleys, looking out for sunshine and 70s on wednessay, up to about 81 degrees on thursday. And then you can see friday starts off. Pretty nice. And we roll right back down again as we head into the weekend. We once again have another front coming through. So today pm chance of a shower and then well get sunny for wednesday and thursday. Warm it up friday. Well start off with that sun and then we get the clouds rolling in next system coming in friday night into saturday. Back to you. Thank you so much. A live look outside here showing us what happened across the embarcadero looking out towards the bay bridge and all the clouds that are sticking around today. Cows in the Weather Center with look at the forecast and what else is churning out there right now . Yes, yesterday we talked about this hurricane lydia and i wanted to take you back again down to the coast of mexico just off the coast of port of ir to where you can see this storm now has become. Quite serious. It has now reached category 3 main meeting, major hurricane status, major hurricane is a category 3 or higher, which would be essentially 111 Miles Per Hour sustained winds or higher. So it is just cross that threshold and unfortunately is now aimed directly for port of ir today. Yesterday was kind of between that and mas a la. But you can see how the models have tightened up now taking it right into Puerto Vallarta as a very strong category 2 hurricane expected to make landfall tonight. So obviously, that is a big concern. That is a big Population Center there. Also a place many people in the bay travel to a for vacations and whatnot and some even, you know, on property there and that type of thing. So everyone keeping an eye on this. Obviously, this devastating for port of iowa as it can cause a lot of damage, though. I will be following that. Meanwhile, back in the bay, we have been looking out for some rain today. Thats slated to come in later tonight. Also wanted to mention Southern California about to be under a wind advisory. This is why were so fortunate. We dont have wind to contend with right now as we are in that dry season. Also notice the purple there in nevada, those a freeze warning. So some of these fronts bringing in a cold air to the tune of kicking up some wintry weather as well. So really in that season change. But as we take a live look here, you can see the clouds are really starting to approach the bay area. Any of that rain staying to the north of us now. But as we look to the north, you certainly see those darker clouds and a role. And so that is the front thats going to track through. And i dont think its going to be a whole lot of rain for us. More like drizzle tonight. But as we get into wednesday, were going to clear out get some sunshine back, start to warm up as we work our way towards thursday. Another front approaching us on the weekend. Ill have more on that when come back in a bit. Back to you. Thanks so much.
